The hydrogen powered 7-series ends up using more energy than a petrol powered 7-series. It is just a show car to avoid actually having to do something on emission values.

Not all goodies are that great, especially the new electric assisted steering, which is simply rubbish. It saves a little fuel and takes all the steering feedback. A big fault in my opinion considering the old system was simpler and much-much better.

Okay I wouldn't call it that way but it seems that BMW is focusing on emissions rather than the driving experience (the M-cars are exceptions). And that's a real pity :-(

I agree. The new electric assisted steering is a bit low on steering feel but give BMW the time to get it just right.

Okay we shall se but the initial impessions on the new 1-series say that a hydraulic-assisted system gives you much more feel. It's the same with the new vs. old Focus (old is better the new has electro-hydraulic with takes some feel, a purely electric is worse than that). It's the same problem with the Active Steering but that is an optional thing so I don't have any problem with that.
