I was at may mom's cousins funeral who was a Vietnam vet recently, and they had a line of six or seven rifleman fire a few volleys. I had no ear plugs and had to plug my ears with my fingers because it was so load. I can't imagine how deafening a battlefield of hundreds of firing guns is. Not to mention explosions.

@konnordelk I am not American but from understanding i dont think you can join straight into the SEALs, i'm pretty sure you have to go throug =h a selection course much like Australias SASR. USMC are elite soldiers, but are no means Special Forces like the SEALs. So, if you can handle it and you think you have what it takes, join the Navy and apply for selection into SEALs or join the USMC

I worked in Ramadi and down town Fallelujah with the IPs and also worked a lot of security. I did tons of training in the field when I was states side 29 palms and camp pendleton. I spent almost two year in Iraq. I just dont understand why being a pog means something bad. Radio Operators are very important. But I am sure you know this.

@konnordelk I am not American but from understanding i dont think you can join straight into the SEALs, i'm pretty sure you have to go throug =h a selection course much like Australias SASR. USMC are elite soldiers, but are no means Special Forces like the SEALs. So, if you can handle it and you think you have what it takes, join the Navy and apply for selection into SEALs or join the USMC

If u want new and better eqiument,better living conditions, more pay, free college. Join army. If u want a bad ass uniform, to get put in to the more intense combat shit, and u want people to respect u more and get mad bitches join the marines. Marine tours 7-12 months, army 12-15 months. If u r going in the best way is officer for all branches.

The sentiment is appreciated but calling a Marine a soldier is a pretty big insult. We earned the right to be called Marine and will fight to the death to prove it. Also it's "Oorah", adapted from the Turkish battle cry "Urrah" Meaning "kill them all", not the army's pansy "hoorah" from the word "hooray".

I worked in Ramadi and down town Fallelujah with the IPs and also worked a lot of security. I did tons of training in the field when I was states side 29 palms and camp pendleton. I spent almost two year in Iraq. I just dont understand why being a pog means something bad. Radio Operators are very important. But I am sure you know this.

Vietnam was an attempted foothold in the middle east against communist Russia and China who were threatening US global power. This applies to Korea also. @steveo1794 - my buddy, this 'contact' took place from about 500 yards away. If WW2 combat photographers can get shots of the enemy from 50 feet away, why not this guy? Why did he focus on a guy lying down? Why didn't he zoom in on the killing zone?
As for strategy, I think you meant tactics. One is for the whole war (strategy) and the other is for tactics on the battlefield. I am sorry to say the tactics I have seen, suck. I am talking from experience and my suggestions were used and worked.
