  • i think i may be responsible for about 20,000 of these views...

  • Karan, listened to ya for years, you're just beautifull

  • Since I saw Karan perform in Gouda (Netherlands) I'm a big fan of her. looking forward to a new show in the Netherlands.

  • Its'a very nice- fantastic

  • Wonderful stuff.

  • I've listened to this at least 12 times today.

  • This song story resonates so well to what is happening this very day as another British soldier dies in Afghanistan. Can our different nations never live side by side together in peace?. We are, after all, just Jock Tamson's bairns.

  • Very nice ballad with two exceptional voices !! Phalaïna

  • Brilliant! I never knew these two had sung together. A technical question -- do you have, or can you point to, a higher-fidelity recording? This one has some of the flanging characteristic that mp3 adds to strings. (Of course, where Karan Casey is involved, there is always that yearning, that heavenly-perfection-just-beyond-reach feeling. What a voice. Thank you for posting this. I'll try to follow up tiddler6's Amazon clue below.)

  • this music of trial, and struggle is the music, angelic of heaven that brings unknown from with in earthly tears .this be more than beautiful.

  • Heard this in a History lesson about WWI propaganda. It's so beautiful :)

  • I believe this is from the bbc show transatlantic sessions, 4th series, programme 5

it featured, dan tyminski, james taylor, martha wainwright & roseanne cash among others. it's available from amazon

  • from which DVD is that?

  • @Natschaa81 Not sure about DVD, but the song without James Taylor is off The Winds Begin to Sing.

  • In a far off land in a lonely grave

Lies a man who died alone

Who fought so hard and gave his life

For his country and its throne

In a great big town in a great big house

Sits a man upon a throne

Who eats his fill and drinks a toast

To the man who died alone

  • It would be so good for either Karan or James to feature the other on a recording.

  • Great song!

  • Karan my legend. Love you as always x
