@thinkfastboom93 I couldn't have said it better myself. It's a testament to how talented Kurt was, to make simple power chords and simple rhythms sound epic!
nirvana is definitely not one of the most talented bands out. but i don't care because i love them so much. i can't explain why. but i don't think you can explain your reasons for something you love because that's how love works. it's unexplainable.
nirvana, they don't have the greatest solos, vocals, or lyrics. yet nirvana for my ears is pure bliss (:
i was born Sept 22 1991... Nirvana will always be my favorite band im amazed that Nevermind was released right when i was born it just feels soo right
Wow this is epic! Sept 21 1991 that was just around the time when this video had begun to get a huge buzz on MTV. This moment in time right here is the exact moment before...it...all....happened.
great vid! I love the foos blink and nirvana. Guys check slinkweed out theyre amazing! check them out on facebook or myspace.comslinkweed. u wont b dissapointed!
Oh Canada...He came to Canada and rocked the night under the bright moonlight and took all the frost of the season away by enlightening we, Canadians by "Smell Like Teen Spirit", well then, I only want to say "Oh, hail the God of Grunge Rock, Kurt Cobain!"
Stone cold great period in my life was then. Slutin, at the Button(south),Ridin, my Harley and lottsa sex after drinkin & dancin with a certain lady from Argentina !
haha montreal the best...im so glad my favorite perfomance of kurt is in my town...not just cause its in montreal please look at this its amazing!!!! lol
someday people will understand Kurt's Music. his music is so over played since 1991. however Nirvana's music and Kurt's style is so underrated since 1991. thought many people just listen the band's music, someday more and more people listen band's music carefully and buy their CD more.
I am a huge Nirvana fan, but this is a big misconception, there is nothing more to kurts music...its powerchord, thumping bass, heavy drums, thats nirvana, read the lyrics, there is nothing really amazing about them. they just had an original style for the time
there's more than power chords. you're judging one song you simple minded buffoon. the bass doesn't just thump. in the majority of songs it's very melodic. listen to the bass in lithium, in bloom, on a plain or lounge act for example, if you can even hear the bass.
@roejogan8 Since when does saying "Thumping bass" mean it's a bad thing. That's the sound a bass guitar makes. If you haven't noticed, I'm a NIRVANA fan. Why would I insult Kurt, Dave, or Krist? They were the first rock band I ever listened to. In the long run, saying it's more than power chords is being ignorant, because really, their music is made out of power chords. And again, there's nothing wrong with that, it sounded great.
dave played with alot of dynamics, the drums weren't always heavy, it's boring to keep a loud dynamic going thru every single song. i think it's you with the misconceptions. read closer, the lyrics are fucking great, and yes they are amazing. you couldn't be more wrong.
@roejogan8 No, I know Dave played with dynamics. But the basis of Nirvana as a rock band was their heavy commerical songs, in which Dave most likely played heavier. And please remember I never said Kurt's lyrics weren't great, but I HATE when people say Kurt was SPEAKING to the generation X. No, he was just the leader of a great, original band that came out of a garbage era of music.
@roejogan8 Besides a few songs that are actually about a physical event, lot's of it is random stuff thrown together, lots likely from his notebooks, just random things. Tell me the insight of these lyrics:"I don't care, I don't care, I don't care, I don't care, care, care if it's old. I don't mind, I don't mind, I don't mind, I don't mind, mind, don't have a mind" Damn, as a 90's teen, that lyric helped me through some rough times in my adolescent life.
Yep, every one was there at the show. Even if the floor looks fuckin' empty and you don't ear a peep from the crowd. Everyone and their sister was there though...
you guys were born when this was out? wild. that's so cool you are falling in love with the songs. I was 21 and on the floor when all this was going off. it was magical.
That's the Strat you hear getting smashed on 'Endless, Nameless' on Nevermind. After it was fixed, of course. Kurt put the Tune-o-Matic and stop tailpiece on it so it would intonate better.
Funny i was there that night and also the first time they came there in 86 i think...
both show were good but at this one they had more people watching the show then the first time....
i saw so many great show there!

Nirvana had great songs. They had a great GROOVE. GROOVE is the most important fucking thing in a band and not many know how to achieve it.
Nirvana simply continued where The Wipers, The Pixies and Dinosaur JR started and made something of their own.
