thats cute.. my son loves puppies, I got him one and the puppy rode all the way home on my sons lap (my son is 8 mths old) the puppy slept and my son held onto her like she was a stuffed animal lol.. was cute.. but by the end of the night me and my son had to go to the ER... :( we are allergic to dogs :( so we had to give her to another family :(
Maybe I'm wrong but despite how friendly that dog is I think the kid could have gotten hurt because the dog just doesn't know how gentle it needs to be with babies.

I think the adults should respect the baby's wish not to have the dog knock him/her face down and lick his/her face. It is very obvious that the baby likes the dog from a distance, not close up.
Such a clever baby, you can see her thinking as she watches the new friend, & when the face licking gets too much, she uses her hands to try & push the dog away gently. As for the dog, well she just looks very friendly & excited, & was getting lots of love from the humans & did her best to prove the baby was excepted. There was plenty of adults around to supervise them together, so for all those who don't like this, it turned out good in the end. Both baby & dog learned from this experience. :)

I have corgi,black lab and heelers. Then again I work with cattle and horses also. I have knowest that my corgi and heelers are alittle to high strung for small kids AT FIRST. Cause of there breed for working, not saying that labs arn't high strung also, but they are more of a laid back breed. All and all still a great vid :)

@Ryfasol well if you're taking care of a baby they certainly shouldn't be. a dog's tongue has loads of bacteria, granted we do as well but regardless of what you say it's not a good idea to have a dog lick your baby, not when that dog uses that same tongue as a wash-cloth it's not cool. Dogs mouths are much much cleaner than ours, if anything you should be worried for the dog in this because babies carry tons of bacteria around, in fact humans eat their own feces all the time and don't even know it.

For those of you saying this dog is showing dominance and charging at the baby are ridiculous! the dog is excited and wanting to play, the parents get the dog when he gets too rowdy. By petting him they are calming him down. If you punish a dog for interacting with a baby, the dog will link the baby with bad consequences and become jealous and aggressive, they did it the right way!

Your dog is showing every stress sign possible to tell you it is very uncomfortable in the situation you have put it in.
The following signs are panting, lip licking (its own not the baby), yawning, pacing, sniffing the ground, looking away, pacing. (Signs of stress!)
Sadly this is why children get bitten in homes by their own dog as owners are unaware if these signs.
I also do not feel the baby holding the dogs muzzle or pushing the dog away is an acceptable interaction between dog and baby.

@Ryfasol well if you're taking care of a baby they certainly shouldn't be. a dog's tongue has loads of bacteria, granted we do as well but regardless of what you say it's not a good idea to have a dog lick your baby, not when that dog uses that same tongue as a wash-cloth it's not cool. And I'm sure a couple of them seated there won't have the dog lick their face either

Dogs mouths are much much cleaner than ours, if anything you should be worried for the dog in this because babies carry tons of bacteria around, in fact humans eat their own feces all the time and don't even know it.

@MissPrissyCryssie As far as I know, there is some research findings that show the children who have pets in their home have stronger immune systems than the kids who don't have. And also that is reason why kids sometimes eat their bugger. Even though they're doing unknowingly, their brains know it. Imho, too clean environment isn't always perfect for children.

For those of you saying this dog is showing dominance and charging at the baby are ridiculous! the dog is excited and wanting to play, the parents get the dog when he gets too rowdy. By petting him they are calming him down. If you punish a dog for interacting with a baby, the dog will link the baby with bad consequences and become jealous and aggressive, they did it the right way!
