Let's Get Rid of the Electoral College

We're told to vote because "every vote counts." The electoral college makes that statement a lie! But how do we get rid of the electoral college?

All partisan politics aside, the electoral college has failed us three times in the elections of 1867, 1888, and 2000. In theory, a presidential candidate can win the election by taking 11 states: CA, MI, OH, FL, IL, GA, TX, NC, VA, PA, and NY.

The Electoral College was a good idea at the time, considering that the populace was severely interspersed and isolated. Today, we have a heavy and well-connected population, so we don't need an electoral college to cast our votes for us on our behalf...
