  • A beautiful song !!!.... A song for dreaming !!! Thank you <3

  • These lyrics break my heart. and the song is beautiful! Darren makes me feel every word .. That´s why he is the best singer ever!

  • Daddy issues.

  • neverland reminds me Michael Jackson..

  • fantastic song

  • This is... a little creepy. Like being in the circus at night creepy.

But of course Darren can do whatever the hell he wants and it'll always be blow-your-mind awesome.

  • wwoooooooooooow ,it is such a pity that this song is not filmed

  • @MrEliraqi yeah, i´d like a videoclip.. But this song is so sad and beautiful... I love Darren

  • love watching the diffrent clips he always has so much enthusiasm whe he sings the man makes my heart sing

  • Great song, not many people realize the wounds inflicted on a child living in an abusive home . I became so numb to the beatings from an alcoholic father and a sick abusive stepmother, I eventually just stood there and took the beatings, then hide in my room hoping they would forget about me. And wonder why I was even alive.

  • This song. Ohhh, this song. I will never get sick of it. Never ever.

  • Darren is a master songwritter and is grossly under rated as an artist, not by his peers but by the public...all they know is savage garden..he has done his best work since then...He is amazing live..the real deal...he gives me goose bumps...Thhis song is just an example...listen to the album" this delicate thing we made" and go on the journey with him.....

  • and AGAIN almost all of his videos are closed for me to watch -.-

  • sounds like gold and brown by the stranglers...

  • @furor93

The pattern of the notes is similar, but they are completely different songs with completely different tunes and vibes. :| And by the way, the song's called Golden Brown, not Gold and Brown.

  • @roseminty i was just pointing out that it reminds me it, i wasn't suggesting that it was ripped off or something and even if it was,as you said: "they have different vibes." i can't agree wth you though when you said that they have completly different tunes. anyway this song's now in my favourites so it doesn't really matter :) ps.: oh crap!i always mistakingly think of it as gold and brown although i know it's golden brown.anyways thanks for taking the time to reply!:)

  • @furor93

Ohh, ok. I apologize, then, if I came across as rude or, uh, hostile. There've been other commenters saying that this song is a rip-off/copy of Golden Brown, so I assumed that you thought the same thing and jumped to defend my beloved Neverland. Shame on me for assuming. xP

Anyway, I'm glad I was mistaken. Means another fan of this song. :D

  • My sad childhood.

  • @Rowl4nd I normally don't respond to negative stuff but I can tell you that Darren did not copy the song.Darren works hard at writing his own lyrics & works with his producers etc to create his own music from scratch.Darren would never copy another person's song in any way.His music is created from his heart, his soul and through his creativity. If you don't like his songs that's fine but please don't judge on something you have no info on.

  • Wow, amazing song! The entire feel of it is kind of haunting.....I love it though! Screw team Edward and Jacob, I'm Team Darren Hayes XD

  • Brilliant piece of work, as expected from Darren.

  • ............ kinda redundent

  • I miss him. Darren come back to the USA! :D Remember you said you missed San Francisco and you wouldn't stay gone long!? Or do you say that at every show ;)

  • Absolutely awesome! Lyriocs are creepy~~ I love this song so much!

  • sweeet =]

  • Everytime i surf for Darren's videos i read the comments i always see this annoying little note that says "I don't care if he's gay, i still love him". I find this really sad, because before he came out, nobody cared about his sexuality, can't people just love him like before? Being gay is not a problem, it's the person's surrounding people that are the problem.

  • @RKELLYGEEK I agree totally, it shouldn't be an issue. Why shouldn't someone love him or his voice "even if he is gay"? It has nothing to do with his talent and what an amazing man he is. The other one that gets me is "what a shame he's gay". For who? For him it's not a shame, he's happy just the way he is. Being gay is just part of who he is, it does not define him.

  • need to change the name of this song for obvious reasons

  • i love this song soooooooooooooooooooo much

  • I don't care if he's gay... He's HOT.....

  • the music reminded me of enya....still good though.

  • While everyones off listening to the lady gaga corporation, i'll spend my time listening to a man that loves music, a very talented lyricist that sings from the bottom of his heart and has the most beautiful voice in the world, cant wait for his new album

  • @jord232323 Agree totally!!

  • Awesome Song....love it !!

  • Eerily, wonderfully, happily creepy.

  • Let alone, Darren Hayes is completely original and writes his own music. He is my favorite singer and has the most amazing talented voice in the world! Hands down!

  • <3<3<3 Happy BD

  • Rowl4nd, Golden Brown is one of my all time fave songs and, I can assure you, Neverland is not copied from that! They are nothing like each other.

  • omg...this took me off reality.

  • Probably one of my faves! Amazing. Darren keeps making even better music!!

  • angels voice

  • this song is the shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome song

  • Goddess, can't stop listening it!

  • wonderful song !

  • Haunting song, cant get the tune out of my mind.

    BRILLIANT !!!!

  • Rowl4nd, technically this is called a "waltz" rhythm, or a 3/4 time signature . . . simply because a song has this beat does not mean it was copied from the song you mentioned. in fact, musicians have been using this beat for centuries

  • An outstanding artist...

  • This is an icredible song .. wow ... left me speechless... for sure Darren Hayes looks into peoples mind ... he sees them... an exceptional artist ...

  • Fantastic but also a creepy song. Love it!

  • My favourite artist.

  • Mine too. Lol.

Added a lot of his songs to Youtube.

  • But it's as much copied as No More by Jamelia.

  • @Rowl4nd Why resort to name calling just because you hear something others do not.

  • Sorry, I know the song well and I disagree that it's a copy. Similar start, yes, but it's not the same melody by any means.

  • Yea, I listened to it, i see why you would make such a claim. It's unecessary for you to start calling other people names or making accusations - it doesn't help get your point across better. They are similar, but not the same, not a copy.

  • poptacular6625 put 7 thumbs down just because i said it ..it is insulting too. and i am sure that those people who did it didn't even listen to golden brown first. but was just for the pleasure to give a negative mark.

and of course I m sure darren hayes didnt even know about the stranglers and that particular song.=]

  • @Rowl4nd

This song is not copied! Period! You idiot; if you had any ears they are not the same. Similar, yes. Do you know how many songs sound "similar" at the beginning. There are only so many ways to start billions of songs! Lol

  • Comment removed

  • @Rowl4nd "the only one" is not copied from no doubt's "don't speak" and you're right, I don't know anything about music. I've only been playing instruments for 18 years. I wouldn't know different chords, notes, or melodies. So sorry!

  • @andada3 18 years wasted.

  • @Rowl4nd I just agree to disagree. No need to be childish about it. I like your taste in music though.

  • @Rowl4nd Where exactly did you get that this song is copied? Did you hear a few similar notes? I'd love to know exactly how you came to this conclusion.

  • @DarkieDarkside Actually upon listening to the other song, I understand why you would think that it is copied, BUT if you listen closely, the notes are completely different, the pattern might seem similar, but it is definitely not a copy.

-Also when a song is INFLUENCED by another it in no way means that a song was copied. They are completely TWO different songs.

  • The other rhythm is definitely more syncopated. NOT the same.

  • wow these lyrics

  • wow Darren is amazing...fantastic voice

  • Darren is just so deep!!!

  • It's A Revenge Video. About Domestic Violence.. The Muic Tries To Hide The Almost Poison Lyrics

  • he is my fav singer =) cute Darren

  • mine too :) he is so adorable

  • I love this song, but the tune is so upbeat. What's it doing paired with such frightening words?

  • It is done on purpose, I personally love the fact that it sounds so fun. I think it's like this because it shows the way it is behind a childs eyes. The child is not understanding what and why it's happening yet he knows it's bad and wants to stop it from hurting "mommy".

  • @DarkieDarkside

Exactly!! The skipping, playful rhythm is totally at odds with the lyrics, which I agree was totally deliberate, and you sum up beautifully the reasons why.

  • @feliciab2 haha thank you :] And yeah exactly, it actually tests you in a way ..if you're even listening to the lyrics, because if you are you'd notice that these two things are "at odds with each other" as you said :D

  • This song has a really haunting feeling to it... I've heard it before, but never really noticed depth to the lyrics. It's interesting to hear such a happy upbeat tune in the background combined which such eerie lyrics. It's truly sublime.

  • that's cos its a nursery rhyme set to lyrics about a little boy wanting to kill his father for battering his mum....its not supposed to be happy upbeat, the whole point is its a little kid scared of his dad......and wanting revenge

  • There's a song called "Pity the child" that has a similar feeling to it. From the musical Chess. Have you heard it?

  • How can I'm Not Love You?????

  • i fucking love him-awesome

  • can somebody please tell which song is the part of thee video 0:52 pleasee

  • Sure ZaRiThA93, that is from Hold Me - when Darren was with Savage Garden.

  • thaank youu very much! :)

  • savage garden- hold me

  • It looks like the same top from Crush (1980 Me) but I couldn't find that scene in the film clip.

  • I knew I loved you is the name of the song

  • That's from Hold Me, a track off the Affirmation album and the last video under the 'Savage Garden' name.

  • yeah there was an official video but I dnt knw why its gone from youtube

  • @lorittta it got removed because it was considered as a "film" since it was only available on DVD.

  • Is there an official video for this lovely song, anyone knows?

  • I don't know if you have itunes in your country, but the official video is available on there.

  • Thanx for your kindness, Katie. And yes we have itunes here.

    Progress is never far ^^

    take care!

  • Hehe, you're welcome :) By the way, you'll find heaps of videos on itunes for songs off this same album. Darren released a DVD called "This Delicate Film We've made" which are all now on itunes. Check it out.

  • used this for dranma

  • why does he write these types of lyrics, it reminds me so much of two beds and a coffee machine, does anyone know??

  • This song is actually about his childhood. His father was very abusive.

  • it seems to be a part of his childhood he can't cope with yet. who could really live with these kind of bad memories anyway?

  • Plenty of people live with bad memories. This is an awesome song, I love the way it's layered and the contrast between the lyrics and the melody is amazingly effective.

  • He looks like a schizophrenic.... The words don't match the mouth movements... Lolz. Still a very cool song and a very talented artist

  • He's not schizophrenic,it's just that this is Not the original video, and the song is brilliance,I know through what he has walked and it's sad but some have to deal with the parents they have...

  • This song is complete brilliance. From it's lyrics to melody. From Darren's vocals to the heart and soul he delivers it with. Genius!!

  • I love this song God bless him

  • this great artist is definitely a gift from above!

  • The best song by Darren!

  • I love the medieval rythms and angelical voice, so beautifully melted

  • Well my computer is doing some weird stuff right now but by checking comments and the lyrics I really need to infest and put this on my i-pod. My mom, my sister, and I love Darren Hayes

  • this song reminds me of a song from the 80's from a Spanish Band.. named : Mecano... the name of the song is: Hijo de la luna... just listen to it on Youtube and you will see. :)

  • this is the best song of the album delicate thing....such a meaningful lyrics... the music is superb

  • Why haven't I heard this song before?

    Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This and Two Beds and a Coffee Machine make me wonder about Darren's past... But either way, this is a masterpiece!

  • stbr68 you're right, this song is a masterpiece. You've probably never heard it as it was never released as a single. It's from Darren's 2007 double album "This Delicate Thing We've Made " & the whole album is a masterpiece. With regard to Darren's past, no need to wonder, Darren has been quite upfront about the abuse his mother received at the hands of his father when Darren was a child. His dad has since given up drinking and cleaned up his life. BTW the album is available on itunes.

  • This song is so different then what I've heard from Darren but with voice and message in this song is so Darren...love it!!! Keep rocking Darren!

  • vbplaya72007 you should take a listen to the whole album if you haven't done already, it's really amazing. Every song is so different but all amazing - it's a masterpiece.

  • I love the rhythm of this song! i love darren!

  • easily the best song on This Delicate Thing. I love it.

  • The best song by Darren!

  • Wonderful song. I'm happy when there's singers have really something to say with songs.. they can give us emotions. I would like that you could listen another singer who have this same talent. His name is Satsuki and he's the voice of RENTRER EN SOI. Please, search on youtube "Last Word" of RENTRER EN SOI... you can see that there' s artist who can give their HEARTs when they sings. Thanks for your POSITIVE songs.

  • I've said it before but you've done a great job with this video loritta. If any of you haven't managed to get the deluxe version of This Delicate Film We've Made, the normal verson will be available in Feb I think, from stores in the UK. Well worth having, and it includes a video for this song - just amazing.

  • omg u guys kno how i feel i have tried to explain to others why i love savage garden and darren stanley hayes his songs & voice are so beautiful also my fave songs r unlovable & to the moon and back listen 2 the words & u will understand why their my fave songs except with unlovable i say my mother she never loved me and my father he abanded me cos its true thank you so much im not the only one who cries every time even if its superstars and canonballs! thanks darren i knew i loved savage garden

  • That's one of the things I like about Darren Hayes, Vampress86, he's got the courage to sing about issues and feelings that are'nt commonly talked about.

  • i love darren

    they did well wih this

    love the song

  • i loled

  • I love him, he speaks to so many people with his songs...it helps me deal with my own issues knowing that I am not alone...It's hard for a kid to see their mom beat...I know...darren, though you'll never read this, thank you for being brave enough to discuss such sensitive issues.

  • thank you some one gets what darren does with his songs message me cuz you make scence

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • I love this song... I LOVE DARREN HAYES!

    THATS IT!

  • god bless him....hes found ..life..love...an light

  • this is an incredible track, best on delicate by a mile. the tune pops along like something out of a disney film but the lyrics are very deep about witnessing abuse when he was a child, put the too together and its fascinating, kind of creepy feeling

  • I think that is what makes this such a brilliant song jord232323, the way the music is almost at odds with the lyrics. The man is a genius.

  • I love the mood differences in the lyrics and music. the contrast is brilliant.

  • omg i love this song and this video i love darren but i live so far away tear tear

  • yes a great singer, what an handsome guy. he is amazing.

  • A great singer!

  • I like this song

  • Darren Hayes stuns me. He really does. I adore him.

I LOOOVE the clips of him dancing at the beginning. I'm going to have to go through all of his music videos on youtube to match the clips in this one to the song they go with.

  • notsosugarfree, check out "On the Verge of Something Wonderful" and "Me Myself & I"

  • I love this song.

and I love Darren Hayes for ever since 1996.

  • Darkly innocent deliciously disturbing, briliant!

  • I really love this song...

  • Wow.. <33

  • very atractive singer ;)@};-love his music...

  • This song scares the hell out of me....

  • this is probably Darren hayes' the most brilliant song that Darren has written and composed.

Its dark, but innocent at the same time.

I didn't realize it was so dark until the 2nd or 3rd time listening to it.

  • yep, I guess it's his best piece of music and I mean his solo stuff

incredible mixture of sin and innocence captured in a catchy tune and with a bittersweet voice

    simply love it...

  • Same, I think I was on my 3rd time when I understood the song.

  • Yeeees!Darren Hayes is The Best! Thanks for beatiful song

  • lowe this song, sorowful, but wonderful too.

  • This song breaks my heart.I dint realise its so dark, until i listened to the lyrics properly, cuz he sings it in such a sweet childlike voice.

    Pure unadulterated genius!!

  • Yes its a brilliant song..when you read into the lyrics its about a childs escapism from an abusive life....escaping reality

Hes one talented man....brilliant! Cant wait for my Tour DVD..ill be drinking his brilliant music in

  • Oh yes,Im waiting for my DVD too,can hardly wait for the 22nd.

It'll be just 'spectacular' and more than that!

  • Ordered mine from HMV and it should be here trow...woohoo!!!

  • Yes All4Darren, it's brilliant how Darren has almost made the words at odds with the fun bubbly music. Absolute genius!

  • couldnt have said it better! i didnt know it was so dark til i actually listen more closely to his lyrics..hes incredible!

  • Yeah... I mean, who knew that he was a homocidal maniac deep inside?!?!
