Seriously how epic is this track? I literally was speechless when I fought this battle and I was like 10 yrs old at the time, I could not believe how incredible a slow track like this could be as a Final Boss theme. Love it.
This song has always reminded me of the frustrating reality that any moment we experience in our lives can only live on as a memory, and no matter how hard we try to live in these memories, it's impossible to escape the reality that they're no longer real and that we can never go back.
this was released for the psn a while ago from what ive heard. GO BUY THAT SHIT ASAP! i have the original disc, fuckin love this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@TheGypsumGirl Wait until Fargo from Another World joins your party normally in the storyline, and then have him on your party when you talk to Home World Fargo.
It's because this is a future that was eliminated!!! History is composed of choices and divergences. Each choice you make creates a new world and brings forth a new future. But at the same time, you're eliminating a different future with the choices you didn't make. A future denied of all existence because of a change in the past... A future that was destroyed before it was even born rests here... condensed into the Dead Sea."
"There's nothing in the world as ruthless or impartial as death. All living matter ages over time and eventually dies... No matter how mighty or tiny its life force... So being alive means you're creeping closer to death with every second... But there's none of that here. No one and nothing ages. Nothing wastes away. This quiet, boundless, and beautiful world... An ideal world, straight out of a fairy tale, isn't it? A place and time that belongs to no one... Res nullius...
Very emotional and powerful, I simply love it when I'm playing a game such as Cross that embodies the atmosphere into each and every one of it's songs. Great stuff.
fighting miguel was had but i found out if you use diminish at the beginning of the fight his holysword wont instantly kill you even when he upgrades himself
this song is by far my fav over all other CT or CC songs. and I agree Shikenadion everything you did in the game up till this point really had no meaning what so ever. he was even the hardest boss for me to beat my first time playing the game. they couldnt of picked a better song to play during that part. now lets hope for chrono break to come out and find out what happen next, like where is Chrono and Lucca since Lucca sent that letter for Kid saying she would find her again one day
When this song played during your encounter with Miguel, you know shit just got real. So much happend during that moment. For one it was when CC started to tie into CT. The full extent of the actions made by Crono and the gang are revealed. To save one future you have to destroy another. By killing one threat to humanity, you create another. The point behind this scene is so deep and so real that anyone who hates on CC just doesn't get what the game was really about.
@22Lucid The Assassin's Creed is a real game. I have never played God of War, and I can't say that COD is a game anymore in any sense because people take it so seriously even thought it' not all that great.
@22Lucid Last time I checked those are real games, especially Assassins Creed. Watch what you say. Cause you might have 29 that agree with you, but millions disagree. I agree though however they should remake Chrono Cross or make a sequel for the PS3 or X-box 360.
@22Lucid There are still plenty of great games being made. Yes, Chrono Cross was beyond amazing in it's own right but maybe if you stopped being so close minded and looked for the right games to play you could stop living in the past and stop missing out on some great stories that are being told in todays games. Assassins Creed in general, that game is powerful and has a great message in it, and I don't think blindly hating it is fair at all.
@22Lucid have you never played the metal gear solid series? open your eyes man... a game does not need beautiful music to make it awesome. however, it does add a nice touch as the chrono duo blatantly point out for us all :p
Not that you asked for a strat, but here is how I beat this cocksucker..
Make sure everyone has Revive (imperative, because someone WILL die at least once).
At the start of the battle, try to use as many black spells and Tech skills with Lynx as possible, cause he WILL try to seal Lynx's black innate stuff before long. Anytime he uses ANY white innate spell, use ANYTHING but white, because if the field effect is turned to all white, you're fucked in the game.
Just follow those little guidelines and hope for the best. I remember when I beat him, it was first try with Irenes, Lynx, and Norris. Yeah, it was a bitch and half, but I took him down. Just don't sit around all battle just trying to use black innate spells, cause that shit's more than likely not gonna happen.
miguel didn´t seemed a bad guy and he wasn´t... he´s leena´s father and wasuki (serge´s father)´s friend. we were lied during the entire game... you will see if yu haven´t played it yet... only thing im gonna say is... FATE had good intentions.
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Chrono Cross. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
I remembered this during my first playthrough. I kept getting my ass kicked by miguel and restarting the whole lengthy conversation over and over again.
@ooweakingoo Maybe. I just though Garai is stronger cause i could handle Miguel right throught, but i needed 4 attempt to deal with Garai (it was rather annoying). But yeah, Miguel is quite strong too.
@1llum1nate um i remembered having lost the first time in the fight with Miguel. but Garai... I couldn't do a single shit to him for a day. hahahaha super strong that i almost gave up.
I remember this song from when you're in that forest where you get the thing to cure kid and you're fighting those bulb things...but the part where you fight miguel to this music is more memorable...mainly because it was a long battle for me.
I always remember this song being the background to the fight with Dario. And having Glenn in the party, trying to get the Masamune, I remember this song just killing my soul
Still have this game for my PS1, and couldn't tell you how long it had been since I played it. Finding this OST a bit back, I got it back out and started playing again. I think my 360 hasn't seen the light of day in 2 weeks now, for the non-stop CC fest.
i played this game when i was 12 years old..and i still play it at the moment. at my pc...i cant explain how much i love this game!its beyond perfection
VERY BEAUTIFUL and moving song here. Idk but just how it sounds, it puts in my mind that someone is dying and giving their last remarks/wishes after being defeated from an epic fight and sacrificed their life to save someone very precious to them.
This song touched me. When Miguel was talking and this song played, I was so sad. Then you had to fight him! Why was he so hard to beat? Maybe he wanted you to hear this song until it opened your soul..This song....is the most epic song ever
I like how this theme still continued playing during the fight with Miguel instead of switching to regular battle theme. It left a great sad feeling into it added with Miguel's monologue.
For me, the best time are battles where the theme doesn' t stop to start the battle theme... like the run to Zanarkand in FF X... and this battle is epic.
The entire -Sea of Eden/Dead Sea- part is amazing! And when this song plays while Miguel talks about Lavos and the things in the past, that is the peak of this game!
The scene that this song first appears, to this day, is probably the most powerful scene I have ever, well, saw. I can literally feel the despair and desperation from this song. I didn't really like CC, but that scene still stirs my emotions. It's my most favorite part of the game by a long shot.
I remember this song so well. The Dwarfs, Miguel, Dario too, I think. The despair, as if they're beginning to think their lives had begun to lose purpose and meaning. What have my actions wrought but pain and sorrow for these people? Did they really need to be cut down so swiftly just so I could carry on with my own journey? At least two of the three can be saved...
I played this game back in highschool. I'd stayed up most of the night to make it as far as I did. When I had to do this fight, I just felt so sad and drained . It wasn't like the anger or determination I felt when Aeris died, or the justification of defeating Kefka or Lavos. There was nothing I could do to avoid fighting Miguel, no matter how much I wanted to. This song personifies that feeling... I lost the battle the first time. Took weeks to go back and try again.
When I was a kid, and I heard this song playing the game....I cried so hard. This song has probably tugged at my heart strongs harder than any other song I've ever heard. It's so sad, so depressing...yet, at the same time, it's so beautiful and amazing. So perfect for the battle with Miguel, atop a tower in the middle of a sea of desolation...
@ChiTsumai I know... boss fights are made to feel adrenaline/anger/rush.. But for the first time, we played a SAD and UNCERTAIN boss fight theme in video gaming.. when the fight started, on my mind I said.. "I don't want to do this anymore, I can't keep on doing this anymore, I don't want to hurt this guy."... But, no one can run from fate, this was meant to be long long ago. This kind of theme is very rare to find on a boss fight. No, never mind, it's UNIQUE.
I agree that this is a good theme, but I don't like it's use in the game. This shouldn't be a boss theme, it work's after the fight is done, but not for the fight. Probably going to get a lot of thumbs down for this.....
you know, I never thought this song as sad, their have been times in my life when such inspiration from music can be found. I was touched when i heard this on the Micheal fight, i know when times get hard and i cannot breath that i can listen to music and remember how...happy i felt when i discovered the truth. or how i tried to relate my feelings to surges...perhaps i am just a bit over sentimental
I've just finished playing through Chrono Cross for the first time ever, and I kind of felt depressed when I had to fight Miguel to this song. I mean, It was just the perfect theme for that moment. This game is epic, indeed!
I'm going to playthrough new game+ now. I just can't let this game end yet!
@Ultralisk27 I always get depressed towards the start of the second disk. It usually takes me a while to switch over because the first disk was so happy.
I listen to this song a lot on my MP3. This song is perfect when contemplating any kind of RPG battle. I enjoyed listening to this while fighting Miguel and Dario. Dario was a nightmare until you figure out his tactics. Miguel was Leena's father if I'm not mistaken so it was tough knowing this battle had to happen. But only to proceed, you must continue to fight.
This game was good but had 2 flaws..... WAY TOO MANY PARTY MEMBERSSSS... and you go thru 3/4ths of the game without a clue on why the hell am in on this quest, well besides the lynx stoled my body, besides that you go thru and wonder is there any world danger or something effecting anything besides me that im supposed to stop or save? I dont know how they could of speed up the plot on this one tho.Oh ya and they dump every bit of the plot right before the final boss... wtf tell me earlier plz
I felling my heart in this game, when I play it or remember it, I love the story, love the theme song, I can't explain my feeling, btw, this game made me cried.
I love this song when I fight at dead sea.
this game have horrible power to touch my heart,
If you love it, you will feel this story is deplorable.
My whole life, i have played too many games, but I cannot explain what I fell when playing Chrono Cross, that game is just perfect in everything, mainly in it's songs, such as that one or the another world map theme (dream of the shore near another world)..
It's amazing, and listing to this brings me a felling that i cannot explain, but it is sad and good at the same time, epic game, a real piece of art.
when I played this game the first time I was 7 years old, and even at that age I was still able to understand the emotion that came to play during miguel's fight because this song. It felt like my heart had been ripped out and trampled on by someone I cared for greatly. Even now, I can feel the despair this song brings... It's truely too beautiful to describe...
Listening to this song again makes me feel glad that I had to fight Miguel over and over and over and over again. I am glad I got to listen to a song such as this while fighting Miguel many times.
All my memories of this game r pretty hazy when i played when i was a child...was only 9 years old. I remember the boss battle but the dialog before it made me feel uncertain. Made me teary eyed too. 10 Years later and the song still makes me feel the same =l
@jeremycarrier I would like to see you support your statement, if not, learn what defines a game first, for you simply disregarded your own statement.
@jeremycarrier I just hope you don't judge only from the graphic... this game, and even more Chrono Trigger, will still be masterpiece (gameplay/storyline/musics) be it now, or in an hundreds years...
@MasterOfDragonia Chrono Trigger is actually in my top 3 favorite games of all-time. Which, of course, makes CC being so awful even worse, since I was expecting it to be good like the first game.
@jeremycarrier Honestly chrono cross isn't a horrible game when you compare it to chrono trigger it is though. Sure it will never be as great a game as chrono trigger, but what do you expect that game would be very hard to top. Chrono cross is still better than most of the games now days.
Is there a song in the world that have more meaning than this song ?? Hate, sadness, Pain, Life, Death, Future and past, Is there something that this song do not tell you. Fuck those haters who dont like this song, fuck those who dont wanna hear this cause there is no lyrics or no "beat". Us, who like this, even love this song, we are the winner, we are those who listen to our heart, those who can really understand such thing as pain, sadness and madness ...
listen! the fight was this, the fight was that...why can't people just listen to this masterpiece? Mitsuda is a genius. this song mades me sad, 'cause this is a masterpiece. uematsu is great, too, but mitsud gave me the shivers, over and over again. the XG OST was the most epic, i ver listended to. remember the feeling of exploring shevat or the creepy feeling advancering the dead sea. fight miguel? no! ack, gee, bthat bastard miguel, dying...blah..tch...no, just listen nad you'll understand ;)
I swear it took me 3 times just to beat him. This was one of those battles where you actually had to come up with a good strategy. It didn't help that you had 2 black magic inclined people to use though...still what an epic game. Just gonna wait for it to come out on the PSP (^_^)
Miguel is really too hard the first time that the fight! Since the fight had been too long the first time, Miguel had come to kill me with a Ultranova
Chrono Cross is and will always be the best game I played in my whole life, even with the new, the story is too good ... all, it's the only game in life I would note 10/10!
This is a shining example of a song that means something to you if you played the game. No one who hasn't played this game would think that these songs happen during hard bosses ...
Damn you Miguel, you made me RAGE like no one else. DAMN YOU !
Seriously how epic is this track? I literally was speechless when I fought this battle and I was like 10 yrs old at the time, I could not believe how incredible a slow track like this could be as a Final Boss theme. Love it.

In my opinion, this is the most beautiful song ever composed, by the greatest composer of all time. This scene brought me to tears.
ShotgunLars 9 months ago
The entire -Sea of Eden/Dead Sea- part is amazing! And when this song plays while Miguel talks about Lavos and the things in the past, that is the peak of this game!
EScrimson 9 months ago
The scene that this song first appears, to this day, is probably the most powerful scene I have ever, well, saw. I can literally feel the despair and desperation from this song. I didn't really like CC, but that scene still stirs my emotions. It's my most favorite part of the game by a long shot.
UkyoKuonji2010 9 months ago
I guess we must fight. Eeeeaaaaghhhhh!
Kofsamus18 9 months ago

Princesssamari 10 months ago
miguel spoke the truth the entire time this song was going on after the battle. you can actually relate his words to how life is now.
fruitypebbles904 10 months ago

No, never mind, it's UNIQUE.
thenewtransmission1 10 months ago
I can still hear the commands being made and the main character attacking Miguel during this music.

whenever i hear this song i think of what has happen in japan.
jackieb7205 10 months ago
I agree that this is a good theme, but I don't like it's use in the game. This shouldn't be a boss theme, it work's after the fight is done, but not for the fight. Probably going to get a lot of thumbs down for this.....
HAAST1224 10 months ago
@HAAST1224 I respect your opinion, but I also have the right to disagree with you. I believe this song was perfect for the battle.
IidoTheFox 10 months ago
you know, I never thought this song as sad, their have been times in my life when such inspiration from music can be found.

I dont know how they could of speed up the plot on this one tho.Oh ya and they dump every bit of the plot right before the final boss... wtf tell me earlier plz

this game have horrible power to touch my heart,
If you love it, you will feel this story is deplorable.

@jeremycarrier I would like to see you support your statement, if not, learn what defines a game first, for you simply disregarded your own statement.
DessiatoTAS 1 year ago
@jeremycarrier I just hope you don't judge only from the graphic... this game, and even more Chrono Trigger, will still be masterpiece (gameplay/storyline/musics) be it now, or in an hundreds years...
MasterOfDragonia 1 year ago
@MasterOfDragonia Chrono Trigger is actually in my top 3 favorite games of all-time. Which, of course, makes CC being so awful even worse, since I was expecting it to be good like the first game.
jeremycarrier 1 year ago
@jeremycarrier Honestly chrono cross isn't a horrible game when you compare it to chrono trigger it is though. Sure it will never be as great a game as chrono trigger, but what do you expect that game would be very hard to top. Chrono cross is still better than most of the games now days.

@jeremycarrier Just because it's not just like Chrono Trigger doesn't mean it's bad.

I swear it took me 3 times just to beat him. This was one of those battles where you actually had to come up with a good strategy. It didn't help that you had 2 black magic inclined people to use though...still what an epic game. Just gonna wait for it to come out on the PSP (^_^)
