Well it appears that good Ol' ruffchamp1 has run out of videos to chant his tired slogans about Easy Goer,and to knock this fine racemare. He deserves everything he gets and thats a fact!!

Peppers Pride has been retired and will ship to Kentucky. The undefeated mare will be bred to Tiznow, Eclipse Award Winning Horse of the Year, and the only horse to win the Grade 1 Breeders Cup Classic twice.

Tiznow is the sire of Grade 1 Goodwood Stakes winner Well Armed; and Colonel John, winner of the G1 Santa Anita Derby and G1 Travers Stakes.

Undefeated in 19 lifetime starts, and now retired healthy and sound, only to meet open company... at Tiznow's Kentucky loveshack. Great success.

Personally, I respect what she has achieved and thought she was a very exciting part of 2008, but I also think that by now -- after much success in New Mexico -- it would be cool to see her try something different and achieve a new goal. I wish her and her connections the best.

i dont know if she ran at the appropriate level-nm state bred horses for 19 races? i think alot of people think she might have been able to run at a little higher level-maybe. but she certainly will be remembered just like hallowed dreams.

Anyone who knows racing knows how hard it is to win two or three in a row, let alone 19, at any level. It takes luck, a gifted horse with a strong mind and body, and a wise trainer who understands what his charge's capabilities. PP ran at the appropriate level, and was wonderful to behold. To dismiss her achievements because her humans managed her career so well is ridiculous, shallow, and provincialism at its silliest.

She certainly is a winner, a winner against minor league state bred horses, and her competition for her entire career has been minor league state bred competition. And i said that peppers pride certainly will be remembered the same way hallowed dreams is remembered. and, sorry to disappoint you,but im not ruffc,but i happen to agree with him and others on how supreme his year really was,and how sunday sil. came into the classic extremely fresh and that had a huge impact(not all) on the outcome.

To call a mare who just set a record(that may never be equaled) a "minor leaguer" is a bit much. I never said she was the greatest horse to ever run,but there is no need to knock her like that. Calling her a "minor leaguer" you are in effect calling me and anyone else who don't run in NY city,or Cal that. And I take extreme offense to that. Of course I don't care about who she ran against or where she ran,because she doesn't need to prove anything to the likes of you,nor to me,shes a winner!!

I agree she should have been run against better company.HOWEVER,in the grander scheme of things with all the crap our world and country face,is it REALLY so important where her owners and trainer ran this horse?I love horses but it is comical 2 believe they have a clue what kind of company they are running in or even care.We can be pretty sure Pepper is happy no matter what she is running against. Why can't people just be happy to get what they get?

What people conveniently forget is the fact that she is based here in NM,and the owner lives in nearby west Texas. The purse money for state breds is a big factor in her running here. There is a lot of money that can be won here,and after all owners are in it to win money. What bothers some is that since she runs in "lowly New Mexico" she is somehow undeserving of adulation for her accomplishments. And finally I have a feeling heartofalion is ruffchamp1,uses the same grammer,and all.

Just watch how around the 3/8 pole the jock asked her to pick them up a bit. She shrank 6 lengths down to 3. When she hit the stretch,he set her down,and immediately you see her eagerly open up her stride and just motored away. She went 1:09 2/5,and she did it in a most easy fashion. All you have to do is watch her action and you can then understand why she is capable of doing something no one has ever done on this continent. Whether you admit it or not that mare has a lot of class!

Ive worked Rockingham when they ran t-breds, Finger Lakes,Aqueduct,& Belmont AND Saratoga. Hialeah,Calder,Tampa Bay,Gulfstream. Keeneland. I've worked with ALL classes of horses at all levels. Give me the cheapest of the cheapest claimer that tries their hardest every time over a common overly priced stakes horse who doesn't put forth 100%. Because sometimes-just SOMETIMES those claimers will steel your heart. And if they don't than u don't belong putting your foot on the backside.

Cont- The phrase the best way to look for gold is on the surface,means basically all you have to do is watch this race and watch how she goes about her business. She is what any REAL HORSEMAN is dreaming for. Man there are extremely good trainers who NEVER get a horse even close to her. They hold their crippled,and or troubled horses together and win. Thats the real world of horseracing,not those Dubai princes with over 600 horses in training,and the ability to buy any horse!

Furthermore, I spend everyday working with my own horses. I know bloodlines(TB and QH)to a very high degree,I have ridden a horse who could go 1:08 & change ina race situation. I have spent a lot of money (I'm not even close to being rich by the way) on my horses. I'm saying all this not to make myself out to be some bonafide "expert",what my point is with my background I CAN APPRECIATE A DAMN GOOD RACEHORSE WHEN I SEE ONE! I wonder if some of the detractors have ever spent countless hours of study on pedigrees, to get an idea on how to breed a quality horse. I wonder how much time and money they spend working with a young foal(from basically day 1 until they go to the track). I sometimes wonder if they have ever ridden a horse with legit 1:08 & change speed,knowing the feeling of power and the pure beauty of a horse at full flight,yes I wonder what these people have ever done,besides being so damn cynical!

Your not the one who seems to have a "problem" with who she runs against? of course you dont have a "problem" with who she runs against, she runs against state bred restricted horses in 19 races,and i have looked up who has finished 2nd and 3rd and behind her every time she ran.and the competition is the thing.its as if a minor leaguer totally dominates the minor leagues,they are then sent to the major leagues obviously.but any winning streak is admirable,from bottom level to top level horses.

Lets get something straight here, first of all I'm not the one who seems to have a problem with this horse,where she ran,who she ran against. Your the one who can't handle what she has done. Once again it is NOT about WHO she raced against,or WHERE she ran,it is the DEED itself that is worthy of praise. She Certainly can beat restricted state bred company quality horses, its amazing that she will never run in a grade 1 or grade 2 or against anything but restricted state bred company..people should look up the horses who have finished 2nd and 3rd to her in this race and throughout her career,its extremely telling if u look up her competition of state breds.

You need to get over the fact that she isn't this that or the other. What she is,she's a racehorse,who needs to make NO apologies,she has won 19 straight races,something no horse, G1,G2,G3 ,or any other level has ever done in NA. You can't seem to comprehend the magnitude of her deed. Besides that the horses in NM aren't as bad as you would want some to believe,get over it!

He certainly sold it though - great call for a great moment. I guess it's Puerto Rico's Camarero who holds the world record for Thoroughbred racing with 56 straight wins in his home country, from April 19, 1953 to August 1, 1955.

Now its 19 straight wins,and I think she will be going to the farm now to start a new career as a momma. People watch this race (the fractions are pretty quick) she is 6 back around the far turn. Madeira asks for a little and suddenly she is only 3 back,then in the stretch he set her down,and that beautiful mare lengthened her stride and smashed her way to a most impressive display pure racing beauty. In the business she would be called a "push button horse". SWEET!!!
