The best version is the long version of the definitive version - the one where Joao Gilberto sings the Portuguese verse, then Astrud Gilberto sings the English verse, then Stan Getz does a sax solo, then Astrud reprises the second half of the English verse. Everyone knows that's the best version! hehe

As for this version, she has a nice voice, but I assume she's singing the Portuguese verse, but to my ears it doesn't match any other renditions of the Portuguese verse that I've heard.

I would say this is one of the best versions I've heard and seen. This is not a sad song to be sung droopy eyed. This is a joyful and yearning song about a beautiful girl that the man sees walking to the beach. He wants her to notice him but she doesn't. He says she is beautiful walking in the sun of Ipanema...there is nothing to be droopy about that. In my opinion this woman has the right intonation, the right expression on her face, and the right tones coming out of her throat. No wrong.
