@TheRandomguytom no like 100 ppl asked, cd uses infrared, which is different from red... infrared you cant see.. and it has to be a burner because burners are powerful enough to literally burn in the dvd.

dude you should use a driver for the laser diodes , running them on 2 AA is not recomended because they burn very easy.Do some research please

I must agree with Plop. Running your diode off of ANY type of power supply with no driver will end in a burn out. If anything else it will tremendously short your diodes life.

You can buy a flex drive driver for pretty cheap or even some pill drivers.

If nothing else just make your own. Would MAYBE cost you 5bucks in components from radio shack and 20 minutes with a soldering iron and a perf board.
