He's muting the strings to give it a muted effect... you just put the fret fingers on the fretboard softly so you aren't pushing the strings in and play... you should get a muted effect... Someone will probably explain better for you though :)

you got the chords right but there is an easier way to do it on the first fret on the a string for the first chord

the only thing wrong is the strumming you don't need so many muted notes only one is fine

He is in overdrive and muting other than that there isn't anything special going on. Its pretty standard stuff. I play this a lot different  and it sounds good to me. Then again there are a lot of ways to play some of these songs. Specially nirvana. Its mostly powers chords. I love it. Nirvana ftw!

no, hes most likely just using the built in settings with the amp. most come with a drive knob, or a switch for distortion built in. you could use a distortion pedal also if your amp doesn't already come with these settings. and yes, he's palm muting.

umm i dont know the whole song i only know the begining of it and it is on the low e string (top string) 3 fret and 5 fret ulternate between those two 4 times then stop a little then do it again 4 times then once more on that last one go on the a string and play 3 fret then 2 fret then open string and that the beggining THAT HOW I PLAY IT!!!!!!
