  • 8 bit sound on a 16 bit cover... fail

  • Nice work I'm lovin it

  • great respect for this!!!

  • I would say 20-17 years ago. Also this sounds with a little lower quality than games for SNES .

  • 25 years ago the Super Nintendo would not have been out yet. This would have been an NES title.

  • Pretty sure if Braid was made 25 years ago, everyones brain would've exploded at the ending.

  • this is 8-bit which was only used on the NES. the cover is from a 16-bit genera of the SNES.(not 25 years old it will be in 2015) the music on SNES sounded much better and had many more instruments. I am fairly sure you could find some 8-bit art of braid. so that just leaves me with the thought you don't actually even know what a SNES or NES is regardless it was okay. I am just sick and fucking tired of everyone mixing up the two.

  • hehe goood one! my only issue is that the picture is misleading as it implies the snes 16-bit era which has not 25 years ago, rather the early nineties ^^ catchy tune nonetheless ! :)

  • бомба!

  • 25 years? maybe 20 or less

  • this needs more goddamn views for fuck's sake

  • But man thats NES sound quality, Super Braid would be 16bit :)

  • Man, this is epic! You should definitely do Downstream and Maenam as well! Keep on creating!

  • @TheAga131 Thanks! I definitely wanna try to do downstream eventually

  • I wish I could play the "Super Braid" game. But no, it's not even gonna exist for Nintendo DS.

  • 25 years ago? 30 or 35 would be more appropriate: this thing is so 8 bit, and in 1989 the 8 bit era was at its sunset (the sega mega drive was around since 1988 and the snes was just around the corner).

  • @Thalon77 Well done, you win a slice of butter

  • haha awesome!

  • I didn't think this track could actually become any awesomer than it already was. You've done the impossible.

  • @puggsoy BTW, ain't you the guy who runs Braid Wiki?

  • @belgther Yeah, I am, thanks for noticing! It's not very populous, but it's getting somewhere.

  • lold...genius

  • I kind of want to try a cover of this in famitrackers 2A03 (for accuracy), think you can send me a midi? c:

  • @deathward4 hmmmmm. I'll see want I could do. Idk how I would do that though I just recorded this straight from the piano to the line in port of my computer

  • @deathward4 Hey man, there are programs that will transcribe this song into midi. Just rip this from youtube, and run it in one of those...or just figure it out in the tracker urself.

  • @datasoluble ...you do realize it's impossible to turn an mp3 into a midi, right?

And it doesn't matter anymore anyways. .-.

  • @deathward4 why should it be impossible? computers can analyze pitch and time..you're right though it's not a science exactly, and not perfect...There is one called intelliscore... I know there is another really good one can't remeber what it was called.

  • @deathward4 In fact, it is. There is some software for extracting notes from the music, but they are not well advanced. If this kind of software makes steps, then one can extract the notes and save as MIDI.

  • now THIS is what I call dedication to the authentic. well done

  • AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOME !!! and funny

  • This is wonderful, love the cover art too. Have you considered doing "Downstream" and "Maenam?"

  • @theturbocow yeah i started learning downstream but i dont know why I stopped. I'll try to put up a video for sure whenever I get around to finding the sheet music again and learning it all the way through

  • I need a word to describe this but the right word does not existence so I will make one up....ubersomeordinarywondertabulous.....

  • Love the cover art

  • Just imagine reading "Now we are all sons of bitches" in an SNES title.

  • WTF! On the snes!! It'll sound practicaly like the original!! maybe the NES^^

  • HAHA genius!!!!!!

  • im not surprixed

  • aww please do more. I love the extra sense of whimsy and naivety the chip sound gives to this tune.

  • @runitecastle i might try to, any recommendations??

  • @chrisw142 any track from braid would be swell! whatever works with you best

  • He's like Mario in a business suit.

  • hahahah! THAT'S PERFECT!

  • @Ziincito haha THANKS!

  • "Super braid" ROFL :D

  • I'd say more so 30 years ago ~

    Sounds like Nes quality.

  • @Jman0011 haha yes probably

  • I think Super Nintendo actually had capabilities for much better music quality, and even an orchestral sound(Final Fantasy III [VI in Japan]). But still very nicely done.

  • @Raynelm Even the NES had capabilities for much more "sophisticated" music than this :) Search for "famicompo" on youtube to hear some modern compositions for the NES sound chip(s).

  • @flamingspinach holy shit I just listened to one that was probably the most awesome thing ever

  • This is great !

  • that's cool, lol

you should do it for "downstream" too!!!

  • @zozuef I wanted to but couldnt find any good sheets for it :(. Maybe once I get better at learning by ear I can

  • haha thats great

  • yeah the music is great.

  • sounds like zelda

  • nice art and music

  • thanks alot.i only made the music though. found the art on google images

  • @chrisw142 i saw that art on google images too.
