it may only be that this phase of the universe that begun to exist, there may well be expansion , crunch, on and on infinitely, we just just don't know, do we
Philosophy is fun and all (though I don't follow any of their classic schools of thought), but it doesn't really provide any concrete answers about the nature of the universe, or where we come from. So far, only science has done that.
I'm really worried at the prospect that there may be no meaning of life. Eliezer yudkowsky (a famous AI researcher, and all around genius) is of the opinion that it can't be discovered by human beings, only superintelligences. What do you think, iDeist?
I 100% agree. We don't know and it doesn't really matter. I'm not endorsing Tom Leykis, but on his ask the Atheist series I think he has some of the best answers to Christian theists. Instead of making up shit on how evolution or cosmology might explain x, y, or z he just said I don't know, and you don't have to know to reject silly supernatural claims. There's so much wasted time arguing about things we can't validate.
They think they know, indeed there is much data that cannot yet be explained, indeed when Hubble turned its sights in the heart of the expected source it did not see one thing that was anticipated, they still remains as anomalies re the big bang theory today.
