@TheCatalinalira Thanks so much for that! Deceptively simple that poem and says it all - as all great poems do I guess. Very best wishes to you - enjoy the great weather when it comes along.
Wonderful reading! The trees in your video are stunningly beautiful with their aged branches of symmetry. Your discussion of transcending religion rather than rejecting it speaks to how I view religion; you phrase your beliefs better than I can. My mother read Walter to me when I was a small child. Cheers and good wishes always, Hunter
A finely wrought poem that seems to read effortlessly, maybe that is the mark of a great poem. Transcending religion, thats a difficult one, perhaps the answer lies in each finding their own source of spiritual nourishment that goes beyond anything institutional. Food for thought, nevertheless. Great to see this poem W de la Mare seems unfashionable these days, but how his words still resonate with contemporary relevance.
This is beautifully done. A treasure. The voice is awesome. I like Karen Armstrong's intelligent writing of the value in all religions----as well as Hitchens. Amaranth is also a valuable food grain. Where is that last image with dwellings on the rock peak? I think 'Turkey' but is that an American flag on top?
@Idinfarm Many thanks for the considered response. Always appreciated as most leave none. Amaranth - to the classical Greeks a rare flower on Olympus and everlasting to boot ( food too, right). You are so right too about the last image - Cappadocia. I saw it for myself a couple of years back. It had been open to the public until someone missed their footing near the summit and plunged to their death. So the flag is with crescent moon and single star. You must have recognised Big Sur! Best.
Another wonderful reading, thank you :-)

@dragonheart130 Thanks once more. I think you might like Solitude by Lewis Carroll
and maybe Adlestrop by Edward Thomas.
