  • I never got this laptop to go on to wpa encrypted networks... And that was with the 10.4 osx in it... I wonder why that happend to my laptop... I even re-installed the OS and still nothing, i had to connect dirrectly to the either net port... OH well :)

  • This "parody" sucks :/. Sorry, just my opinion.

  • @mbp6705 yeah, I have an air

  • I cant believe people buy macbooks, first there 400$ overpriced, 2 they have outdated internals, and 3 you cant play ANY games on it

  • @CallofDuty1221 wrong, wrong and wrong. if you don't like Macs, why blast on a Mac video? dickhead.

  • One of the best notebooks apple made before The went money crazy just because they had Intel processors nowadays there just money noobs

  • wots that song called

  • Jael Naim - New soul

  • Does this support snow?

  • @insanejake11 some people just don't know how to use google.

  • @ryanbinrichard lol do you know how much about tech i have learned......more than the main technissian at staples! i literally know all about apple and almost everytrhing tech!

  • @insanejake11 no :)

  • alienware m14x small and faster than a 17 inch macbook pro

  • 0:16 FAMILY GUY!!!

  • Just got mine in, sadly it has a dead pixel @_____@

but in any case it's still wonderful.

just got done playing halo maxed out :3

  • I love this video! PowerPC!!

  • The 12 inch PowerBook g4 sucks it is basiclu a silver iBook, only the 15 and 17 inch are cool, because they look just like a MacBook pro

  • @jdogtalks what's better ibook or powerbook?

  • @Josewazheretoday powerbook, but get tge 15 inch

  • one feature that is nice on the air compared to the G4 is that you actually have a backlight, other wise i would go on ebay and buy on of these machines.

  • it's nice,I love the powerbook G4, but the new 13 inch are macbook pro's are more portable.

  • The last 12 inch PowerBooks ware made in 2006.

  • the last 15 inch and 17 inch models were made in late 2005 and late 2006. i got mine brand new at the apple store on 6-22-06..... still have the receit :)

  • AHAHAHA Family Guy CD: Stevie Griffin

  • I would ROFL if at the end it would say: "Get a PC" :DDDDDDDDD

  • Comment removed

  • the powerbook g4 was an amazing computer but its very slow compared to the air

  • @thatapplegeek On par with a netbook though (based on Geekbench benchmarks). In fact, the 1.5 GHz Powerbook G4 is a bit faster than a 1.6 GHz Atom, it's mostly the fact that the G4 uses DDR while netbooks use DDR2 that made the biggest difference. Plus an nVidia FX Go 5200 is still better than the GMA graphics, Ion would be considerably faster but they cost a bunch more. I'd say the Powerbook G4 fits the category of netbook perfectly, sub-13" sub-$500 notebook.

  • @thatapplegeek My 2010 MacBook is slower than the new ten MBA. Nothing can beat it's flash storage.

  • @thatapplegeek

    It's still an amazing computer.

  • Powerbook G4 12" is a CLASSIC. i can't say that for the Macbook 'ass'

  • nice!

  • I don't understand the hate for the Air. It doesn't have an optical drive, big deal, it's an ultraportable, pretty much non of them do in that category. Same with replaceable battery, it just adds extra weight and bulk to the machine and reduces the battery life because of the mechanisms for making it removable. The clue is in the name "Air" too, it uses wireless connections to do stuff. I never use the ethernet port on my MBP, I use WiFi and BT. If you don't see the point you're not its market.

  • @TalesOfWar Now explain why you can't upgrade the RAM? Don't say extra weight, a 64MB stick of RAM weighs the same as a 4GB stick of RAM

  • @1993gandy It's soldered to the board to save space. The chips are directly connected to the logicboard, it isn't a typical DIMM slot like in larger machines. I think the original Air used regular DIMM slots, but the new ones don't so they can make them thinner and lighter. take away the need to make them removable and you get rid of a good chunk of space and weight.

  • @TalesOfWar And that is why there is so much hate. Just to let you know the orgininal MacBook Air is the same size and weight as the current one. BTW the solder holding the RAM in weighs about the same as the clips that hold regular RAM in.

  • @TalesOfWar Yeah, the Air is almost like a netbook. No optical drive, etc. It's supposed to be a computer for those on-the-go. Though I am not a big fan of the Air, I feel that people shouldn't criticize it for not having an optical drive, because many other netbook-like computers don't as well.

  • haha lol awesome parody

  • I have had 3 intel Mabooks (currently own a 15" uMBP) and a few iBooks but the 12" Powerbook remains elusive to me, I still want one so bad, so sexy.

  • What did you use to edit this?

  • how did u get that wall paper?

  • "And a removable battery"

One of the reason I'm not ever upgrading to something like the air.

  • Posting from a 15" Aluminum Powerbook, it's a really good laptop provided you're not a gamer or need to edit video. Leopard isn't great on a G4 either.

  • @SeizurePenguin It also depends on how fast your processor is. I have a 17" G4 PB @ 1.5ghz running Leopard and it's not that bad. It's comparable to my G5 single 1.8 ghz PM. I haven't played any games on it yet though and probably won't as I will use it for internet and making movies (maybe) and cartoons. Mine has that stupid memory problem though and can only upgrade to 1ghz of mem. Bought it on eBay.....

  • the captions ruined it

  • LOL

  • Hey does every PowerBook have the keyboard lights?

  • @sahab999 The 12'' Powerbook G4 doesn't have the backlit keyboard. The 15'' and 17'' models do, though.

  • @trapperj613 only the aluminum 15 inch models have the backlit keyboard, the tibooks don't.

  • I understand absolutely anything being better than the wretched MacBook Air. But why is a 2003-spec computer better than, say, a White MacBook? And I know this video was made before the 13" Pro, but surely that's the worthy successor to the 12" PB? Or do people still like the smaller form factor and square aspect ratio? Perhaps the screen isn't as glossy as the current lineup?

  • @PurushaDesa Oh the 13" MacBook Pro definately takes its place! This video was simply a jab at the MacBook Air, you'd be crazy not to go with the new MacBook or 13" Pro nowadays. Though these Macs are still semi useful for browsing the web and the like :)

  • Lol

  • i have 5 macs an powerbook g4 15 an macbook white prebunibody a macbook aluminum unibody an a 15 inch macbook pro unibody intel i5 an the 2 macboooks fit in a evelope oviusly the 15 inch notebooks doent fit

  • Watched this on my same model. Hasan ssd so it still feels fast

  • iwatched this on a 15 inch powerbook g4

    "powerbook g4 thin enough"

  • I watched this on a 12" PowerBook G4..

  • THIS notebook was ahead of it's time.

  • I have a late 2008 Macbook aluminum, but I've always wanted this one...

  • cd drive? in this world utterly useless! maybe a few purposes, but kinda dumb to have in a laptop. However all the other points made in the video were accurate. Although, even my old POS dell 15" could fit in an envelope, and had 4 usb ports. Also, my new, much better acer aspire one has true 7 hour battery life (have tested, 8 hours possible but for comfortable use with wifi etc 7 is around accurate) and is very nice to use on the go, 9" and definitely under a pound.

  • i want a 12'' cheap portable from apple. the closest thing is the ipad. :(

  • Ouch!

  • better than the macbook air, besides the fact it's probably slow, they should make a newer updated version of this, would rock so hard...

  • please can anyone tell me how to change my user name coz I changed it from the starting one to my new one now but it will still let me log in with the one iv changed and my new one !!!!

  • Proof that apple goes over the top with new products, this is still a fine machine with the graphic power of a god, and i still use it alongside, the original macbook pro 15, the macbook air however is pretty ridiculous, and not to forget the 12 inch makes this machine way more of an ultraportable than the 13.3 inch

  • despite is a little old it looks better than a lot of new pcs

    n n lucky i got one.

  • Name of the song?

  • wat song is this its sounds so coool

  • @xXDanielp95Xx Yael Naim - New Soul :)

  • @xXDanielp95Xx macbook air song

  • I agree that this is possibly the best mac for portability and looks very nice. Wots the hard drive. Is it 60gb?? I'd buy this over the MacBook air. PowerBook and MacBook pro r the best!!

  • @TheLegomaniac25: just bought one, top shape, looks like new, no scratches whatsoever, battery has less than 30 cycles and 98% health. One of the final 12" PB's at 1.5 GHz . I get easily around 4.5 hours of battery life with airport on and display at 50%, i've got bluetooth, a superdrive and a 80 Gigs HDD. I'll have to max out the RAM (1.25 Gb) in order to install Leopard. Oh, btw, I paid around $300 for it ;)

  • @dsalageanu Hey

I have one as my DVR, it has leopard on it and It's only running with 512mb of Ram.. Pretty amazing little machine.. always liked the keyboards!!

  • i wish i had a Macbook i have a fast ibook g4 though its pretty nice but it was the only mac i could afford! ;) it has leopard 10.5.2 installed on it

  • i'm more than happy with my unibody 13 inch macbook (not the pro one). portable, fast, and awesome keypad

  • I had the option of any macbook i wanted and went for the macbook pro 13'. Why would i EVER want the air?! G4 seems quite similar to my new macbook pro. loved it.

  • beautiful funny 5 Star video i love PowerBook

i have the 15 Inch model

  • i got this itz so kool lol na 4 reel i got it yay mii

  • LOL You have a point! G4 12" is enough.

  • lol 5 stars, and so true

  • I love the 12 inch PowerBook G4 jawn I'm typing on that I bought five years ago. It's bruised and battered but still runs strong... plus I've never had a virus on it that wiped out my entire thesis like some of the horror stories I've heard from my friends with Windows machines. I hope to have it for 5 more years!

  • @bigkahunaburger55555 You will, I have a 17 inch PowerBook G4 titanium that I have had for close to 10 years. It still runs great, i have never had any problems, i do not use it as much now though.

  • nice ~ I have one, and the 17 - great computers

  • Apple PowerBook G4 15 80ghd In Excellent Condition on ebay

    Item number: 140381942353

  • which is better ibook G4 or powerbook G4?

  • probly powerbook g4 because it had a faster processor

  • i have a powerbook g4 just like this, and this video made me proud to have one until i realised, my disc drive has broken and just ejects discs as soon as i put them in, and none of my usbs ports work! so yeah.

    fail.

  • your fault.

  • personly im a hacker infected my schools macs but i love the powerbook g4 the best apple laptops ever made if not the best of all in the world

  • FAMILY GUY!!

  • haha lol.

  • i dont understand why people keep saying macs dont get virus, THEY DO. OS X has built in virus software and on apple site the recommend getting additional virus software. we got trojins like iBotnet. If you are unlucky enough to get a virus on a mac it can be very hard to get rid of also. dont take the chance and not run extra virus software.

  • i agree no operating system is safe.

  • Love the parody! This was a great ultra portable until the new 13" macbook pros came out in 2009. Not sure why'd you get a Macbook Air now. However a 12" Powerbook G4 still runs well after all these years and makes for a good alternative to netbooks :-)

  • are they good with programs

  • @zsxwrsd Yes they are very good with programs.

  • There are still Lots of People thinking Macs arent compatible with many Electronic articles like Printers et cetera.

  • To me thin and lights (super thin computers with no disc drive) are not very practical, they are no smaller then a normal laptop and very expensive, I think if you travel a lot you should get a netbook.

  • my mac book early 2009 fits in those kinds of envelops and it has all the things i need. like a disk drive dvd rw or what ever you want to call it 2 usb audio in/out, fire wire, mini dvi port, ethernet . lock port. 7 hour battery replaceable. upgradable ram/hdd . and a core 2 duo 2.13 GHz cpu and an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M. just keep the mac that you have. the mac air may be thin but it lacks to many things.

  • @willie14n The macbook air is meant to be a bare-minimum, secondary computer for business men.

  • and thats where it fits in best. and it would also be best for netbook use and traveling or somebody that just likes thin laptops. I'm not saying the air sucks its just not my taste in computers thats why i got my macbook. and i bet the air works pretty well though. apple does makes awesome laptops. and the air may lack some things but look at the quality and the build. now thats what makes the air so nice. apple rocks! :)

  • it doesnt have firewire

  • im not trying to say any thing bad about the macbook air. its just not my taste in computers. but its still a pretty nice computer all macs are nice anything apple is nice apple just rules.

  • macbook airs are so much though thats why im switching from pc to mac and getting a powerbook(and it kind of looks like a macbook pro

  • @zsxwrsd I would sty away from PPC processors. You already can't put snow leopard on it and it wont be able to get any more updates on it. Stick with the original MBP if you still want to save money.

  • or intel

  • @maskedscientist Businessmen buy Thinkpads and Latitudes, because about 95% of them are using Windows. From what I've seen, the Macbook Air is favoured by students with rich parents to buy it for them.

  • My dad is the head of an a national brain-injury study, which is run on Macs. The European Center for Nuclear research uses almost all Macs. The nobel laureate who cracked the genetic code, who I happen to know, personally uses a Mac Pro. He works at NIH, which is Apple's largest customer.

  • That's nice, but it still does not change the fact that those in the corporate world rarely use Macs. I'm happy to hear that the Science sector makes extensive use of them, however your boastful post failed to address the comment.

  • True, the traditional businessman uses an IBM. But I'm saying it's not the best option.

  • That may or may not be true; it's all a personal choice. Windows might just work out better than Mac OS for a lot of people.

  • macs dont get any viruses

  • its do to the fact that hackers don't wast time on a virus that is only going to affect 9% of computers.

  • its better to be safe then sorry though the best way to go is a fire wall. not just virus protection.

  • lol wat

having a firewall is agiven no matter what

i think what you meant to say that the other way around :)

  • @Dontchokeonfear Ya i got a little mixed up there lol

  • notice how every store(every one ive been in in ma)has touch screen thinkpad computers

  • Yes I agree, anyway most 13" Mac laptops from the intel era fit in an envolope fine.

  • iHave a PowerBook G4 12"!! Battery's Cooked!! Needs a new one, least I can replace it and upgrade the RAM!! A Real Netbook!

  • Great video, I really like it!

Want to get a powerbook / ibook like you have but here in Germany they are very expensive if you don't have friends who want to sell them for less money =(

    Hmm, I'll get one I think ;)

  • I love the 12" Powerbook, I have three of them that I bought on eBay, and use them more than my unibody Macbook Pro!

  • Hehe awesome :D

I got a Macbook Pro Unibody in January, it may have more up to date specs and features, but it doesn't feel as unique or "quality" as the Powerbook :D

  • @DeadFredVideo but the macbook unibodies are made so complex! watch the body on how they made the macbook and its alunimum unibody at apple.com!

  • my 1.5ghz PBG4 12" was and still is my daily driver. Great laptop for just about everything (except the latest games, but i only play enemy territory and WoW so im set :D)

  • @Barry3443 are the powerbooks any good then?:)

  • I still really like the 12" Powerbook...fully featured and still a peppy computer if you're not planning to edit HD video or run Windows on the same platform.

  • i want the g4, i just dont know why. I'm stuck to using retro models... Just good times lol.

  • I think I handled my Powerbook a bit too hard for the years I used it. ^_^;; It has a broken latch to keep it shut, and a huge outward dent that I put tape over. It's also reeeeeeeeeeeeally slow. D: I've gone through countless batteries that go dead and stay dead. I still use the Powerbook sometimes, but my main computer is my MacBook. Powerbook is a real nice computer.

  • speed, ppc based, thats all thats wrong. :D

  • I would rather have one of these than a macbook air!

  • @albinoblackrabbit MacBook Air's are worthless I think

  • @albinoblackrabbit I agree

  • Awesome! And you really have a point, macbook air really deserved it´s name "Air" you can´t upgrade the ram, one usb-port and not able to take out the battery.

  • they should bring it back with a $500 price point to take over the netbook market

  • @YOUNGF0X they totally should! I would seriously buy one!

  • nice vid

  • i have the same computer been using for over 4 years and its still working fine and dandy one of the best investments ever

  • Lol At the beginning u can see that the paper is already broken

  • they really have to bring back a 12'' ! 13'' although a notch higher just isnt as portable...

  • getting mine in the post on wednesday got it from amazon- £160 - 1.33 ghz, 1.2 GB ram, 20 GB HDD, 10.5.8

  • when people are going to understand that the macbook air was made for easy portability and internet only.. it was not made for gamers, photographers or people who may need 3,000 usb ports. that's why they made the macbook pro.

  • The new macbook air plays CSS at 50 fps ;)

    Seriously!

  • I would say that it's great for professional photographers on the go. Take almost all professional cameras of today. They USUALLY hook up with USB. Simply editing with photoshop or pixelmator on the Air would be nice, I think. :\

  • why would they make a macbook air if the new MBPs and macbooks are like not even an inch thin?

  • it just came out last october it's not that old haha ur saying no mac on the market has a replaceable battery?? mine along with the new new ones that came out this june or july have replaceable batteries

  • I love my PBG4 12". It was made sometime late 2005 or early 2006. Its amazing, still looks, runs, and feels new. Gotta love the fact it has the optical drive though. I don't like the Air that much.

  • No Mac on the market has a replaceable battery. All of Apples batteries are built in the portable Macs. (Leave Out White Macbook)

  • Yep a bad move imo :) The 7 hour battery calims are greatly exaggerated :)

  • i don't actually think so, but I do believe that they ran the computer at the lowest possible settings, like no backlight, sound, sleep on the whole time, internet off, and no programs running

  • youre right in everything else, but ive had my macbook pro (late 2008 model) in sleep mode for a day straight and it only lost 50% battery life

  • oh, well all I know is that apple tends to stretch the truth sometimes

  • @DeadFredVideo Eh, not always - I had a 13" MBP 2009, and before I sold it and got a GOOD computer (Thinkpad T500 with switchable graphics just like the 15" MBP) the battery would last 8 hours on a good day. In the past though, the battery claims have been ridiculous though.

  • Uh.. You're dumb. Firstly on that bold claim, the white Macbook would be included with the portable Macs, also all the current Macbooks aside from the Air you can take out the battery. you pop off the back plate (without tools and easily) and it exposes the hard drive and the battery. Read up before you make claims such as this.

  • And your outdated, have you been to Apples site lately? All of there portable computers have a built in battery that can not be removed. The White Macbook is the only portable Mac where you can take the battery out. check out apple's site. if you watch the WWDC you would of knew this. So who's dumb now?

  • 4 ur info I have a unibody macbook 13" and I CAN take out and replace the battery myself : ) it is possible to remove it if u didnt know that lol

  • You have the old Macbook

  • its a macbook air he is on about not a macbook pro

  • And I'm sure you never heard of the iPhone 3gs. The new iPhone that can take video now!

  • Macbook Pro Unibody doesn't have a removable battery.

That's because it's battery fills out almost all the empty space within the casing to maximize the size of the battery so that it can have a battery life of up to 7 hours on a single charge.

  • yeah thats why when i get a macbook later this year im getting a refurbished one from last year so i can replace the battery and be able to use it 3 years as my main computer, get another one, and still use it as a nice computer

  • wow u sir are retarded, of course they can be replaced like wtf made u have that assumption? THE CLAMSHELL EVEN HAS A REMOUVABLE BATTERY

  • You do realize you just left out the most purchased Mac on the face of the planet, right?

  • Yeah I would still get the air,

bloody shame that apple discontinued the

power pc line as of snow leopard.

  • Yes, it was the best - possibly still is.

  • Nice video,

who needs the air when you have good ol' PB&J

  • I liked my 867MHz 12" Powerbook so much, I sold it and bought a 1.5GHz model. These are great computers, and are still plenty fast.

  • 13" MacBook Pro is the spiritual successor to the 12" PowerBook. Shame we had to wait four years for an Intel equivalent of the greatest notebook Apple ever made.

  • ur right but i mean look at the macboook 13 inch aluminum, or white, there both badass machines

  • I am watching this video on my 12" Powerbook which I still use (albeit as more of a netbook these days).

It was so great in fact that Apple finally realized the mistake of not making a Pro 12" and released the new 13" Macbook Pro. You all have the 12" PB to thank fot that.

The 13" MBP is a worthy successor to the 12" PB line.

    Great Video INDEED.

  • I love these Powerbook with 12" screen. But unfortunately they are the thickest Powerbooks since the Portables with G4 CPU were released.

  • I would maybe pick the air over a powerbook just for the specs.

  • Before you comment that "ZOMG TEH MACBOOK IS BETTA" look at the date the video was made :P

And remember this video is more of a fuck you to the pile of poo Macbook Air :)

  • well i got that one but withe leopard it's peformance gets REALLY slow

  • The new 13inch Macbook is better. Plus, it got a card reader. And it's thiner.

  • really??? no way!!! I did not expect this compared to a laptop that was made 6 YEARS AGO!!!

  • Apple wouldn't make a flash player rival, the flash platform is great - just needs some updating :)

  • they literaly picked the most awful song for the mac book air commercial.quoting song "making every possible mistake" haha

  • LOL never thought of it that way, but it's true xD

  • yup is true all mentionated in video
