I am selling my Desert Eagle to buy one of these. I think i want to have the front grip checkered and a magwel bevel....how is the slide to frame fit?
@womsterr Good choice! The slide to frame fit on mine is tight enough to be very accurate, but loose enough to be 100% reliable, and it did not require a break in.
You got that right...the rail gun runs about $1,100.00 here in north west Georgia. I saw one of those back in July 2010 and fell in love on the spot. Great video .
This has GREAT video quality. I love 1911's, especially Colt. Nothing like the original makers, right? I'm going to sell an '86-'90's Baseball Card Collection to buy this. Any tips for a "younger" shooter? Other than to not remove the firing pin without proper training and tools.
@gamerfourm217 Thanks bro. Now is a good time to pick up a Colt. I have heard that the guns they are producing now are some of their best quality they have ever produced. A Colt is an excellent investment that will only go up in price. Seeing as I am a younger shooter myself, the best advice I could give would be to get out and shoot as much as you can afford to build and hone your skills. As far as removing the firing pin, that isn't too hard and I may make a video this weekend showing how to.
yes a 1911 is like the ferrari of the gun world.... and also colt is a piece of history.... that was my reasoning for getting my colt to heck with others opinions ...the only person in my opinion that has anything to say is the one buying the weapon... and i love it ;-)
I agree !!! All strange 1980's production snafus aside, COLT is the ferrari of guns. I just picket up my 1911 xse [commander size] today and I LOVE IT !!
it is the new big brother to the Mustang .380 I've had for 15 years.
@951pete Agreed. Colt is amazing. My other Colt, a 1910 Police Positive, is 100 years old and still shoots great. You can buy a more expensive gun, but it is still not a Colt!
@tjh141994 I don't understand the whole reason behind the $3000 custom 1911s anyway. I mean the Colt's aren't exactly "pretty" and do have a few of the dreaded "MIM" parts in them but frankly they work... I have never heard of anyone having reliability issues with a colt and if I am not mistaken they are mostly standard part sizes aren't they? That makes life a lot easier.
yeah i was lucky it is an amazing gun....i hear lots of people bad mouthing it ... dont see why i love it just gonna tweek it alittle ;-) this is my first 1911 but will not be my last... i have my eyes on a sig C3.... man do i love guns lol
@600rrday I have heard a lot of people bad talking it too. This is my second 1911 and I just love it. I would have to say the 1911 is my favorite style of handgun.
its about time colt caught up to the market demand in style
