  • Whiskeytown was just amazing. Just too achingly lovely to endure. This song still brings tears to my eyes, years later...

  • @kittyflumpin exactly, "too achingly lovely to endure." I couldn't say it any better. The sad majesty of this song from someone so young at the time. I love so many of the other Whiskeytown songs, but this one is in a class of its own.

  • fucking brilliant

  • love the vocal interplay and the way the whole song is put together. Yes!

  • Stop by my hand to listen to my band coving Ryan Adams songs. Thanks Ya'll

  • I've probably listened to this song 20 times in the past 10 hours. I fucking love whiskeytown. and WORSHIP ryan.

  • awesome video...just getting into whiskeytown myself.

  • Fantastic song from a tremendous talent!

  • would've been better had embedding not been disabled for sharing on other sites. makes it less viral. but great song nonetheless.

  • Thank You -- Beautifully done

  • can you tell me where to find the pic you used during 4.01 please?

  • So harmonious. the voices work really well together.

  • raging alcoholic frustration

  • see my page for "turnaround" by Whiskeytown

  • Great song, love the harmony.

  • Ryan was still a kid when Whiskeytown busted out. Yeah, his sound has changed - he is evolving and growing up. Better than trying to rehash the same old stuff... Gonna see him with the Cardinals next week in KC. Can't wait.

  • in my opinion Ryan hasn't released anything as amazing as Pneumonia and this song since! Not to say his solo stuff isn't amazing, it is, but this is beyond amazing..

  • not so...I think there's something for everyone in all his works. Im waiting for his book to come out, that should be interesting.

  • Uncle Tupelo, especially "Anodyne," Richard Buckner, Richmond Fontaine, Son Volt, John Hiatt, Elliot Smith, early Jackson Browne, The Gravel Pit all worth checking out!

  • I lowe this song. I didn't hear Whiskeytown until I heard Inn Town, and i didn't know much about Ryan Adams. He's a great muscian, but he's changed his sound since this sound. Can anyone point me to anything like this...Jayhawks, Amos Lee, Lyle Lovett, Nick Cave, Grant Philips, Aimee Mann...I love good singer songwriters. Thanks in advance for the help. I'll check back later.

  • check into Josh Ritter, start with the song me and jiss posted by irishmusiccrntral or whatever. nicely done

  • check out Steve Earle if you don't already know him.

  • Great job! I adore this song and I think it really showcases the range his voice has.

  • GREAT song, nice work on this too

  • hahahahaha he looks awesome!

  • Holy crap at the picture at 3:16! When did Ryan look like that?

  • When he was making Jacksonville City Nights album.

  • north carolina needs ryan back...we miss you...you rock...i still have your smokes

  • funny!!...this tour was my first run into with this short poet, but not my last..even when he told me he was on the phone, i still thought he had an easy heart!

  • stonehenge pick at the end is sick. great song, pretty good slide show as well.

  • Whiskeytown and Jamen Brooks are by far my favorite alt-country flavor.

  • i may have just fell in love again....

  • Are you kidding? OneRepublic is newer than whiskey town. And Whiskey town was a billion times the band onerepublic will ever be.

  • i was obviously kidding. My point was: Whiskeytown IS a billion times better, & why do people listen to 1Repub when they could see this instead. It's called "irony" , something RA could appreciate

  • irony is the opposite of wrinkley.... :D

  • @Jtspencer234 right?!

  • A true American icon. A Bob Dylan for a new generation. He IS Batman lol. Great pics. thx

  • Lol that was cute, no seriously he is the new bob dylan. hes AMAZINGGGGGGGG

  • yeah I say this to my friends. When people look back in say 20 years, they will see this man as a HUGE influence to music and poets out there. A fantastic lyricist.

  • exactly, i just got into him this year but im like GODDAYYUM where the hell have i been??? people are gonna regret it

  • Brilliant

  • Stone cold genius, simply put.. a phenomenon

  • thats really all there is to it
