I have asthma, ADHD, touretts, OCD, and I'm only 11, my life is horrible because touretts are annoying and I can't spell it right, I have no friends, and homework is frustrating. : (
My sister has Aspergers @ the age of 25 and she is very low functioning, your daughter looks to be very mild.. I am sure as a mother it is very scary, but she can hold a convo, and can understand what is going on.. Most can not.. Good luck and your children are very beautiful.. Enjoy them they grow very fast..
My one son has Aspergers, Pdd, HDHD, OCD and memory deficits because he has "episodes" also, so many mini seizures pretty much constantly firing in his parietal area, which you only notice as mini staring off for mere seconds or minutes, and memory issues. They show up on eegs, but seizure meds didn't help. Other than that, my sons (oldest has Tourettes, OCD and HDHD) use no meds and want it that way. I still worry, especially for the one with memory loss, but he has learned to cope pretty well.
Hi. I'm wondering how the differentiation was made between seizures vs. the Tic disorder? My 6 year old (possible Aspie) seems to have Tics, but now is showing up with some possible seizure activity. She has an EEG and MRI earlier this week... we're anxious for the results...
I lost all my friends when i hit puberty, and i havn't been able to get any since. I'm slower than others at cooking/writing/reading and when i do schoolwork i'm much slower than the others. I'm physically clumsy. My heart beats fast. When people tell me to do something i won't understand it as at all, though other people easily understands it. It feels like i have a different personality in me that i can't use when i'm suposed to be using it. Any idea what this may be? :(
@JohanBomholt Is it better when you read instead of listen? If so, you can ask people to write it down. Maybe neither is good for you and you need people to SHOW you. If someone tells me how to repair a bike, I have no clue. But if they show me once, I can almost fix any bike. I learn form watching, maybe that is the case for you too.
Besides that I think you have a lot of stress because of this.
@MrTagapinasako hahaha sure ya do.... yer unemployed. Your youtube name is also really bad.. did your little sister pick that out for you? MrTagapinasako? really? I hope that's not your last name.. (sorry for you if it is)
I believe the rise in neurological dysfunctional diseases are directly related to certain drugs and especially vaccines. People that suffer from these illnesses tend to have high chemical sensitivities - so be VERY careful about what meds they take (lower doses than normal too), and only use them if it is absolutely necessary. Do not take anti psychotic or antidepressant meds - they will have very drastic and negative effects - may cause violent outburst, etc. Don't let doctors abuse your child!
I'm not a doctor, but this looks like Tourette's Syndrome. It is a neurological dysfunction of the brain...may have other types of repeating compulsive movements or words/grunts in future - so keep a watch for any new repeating involuntary actions. Tourettes can be irritating to the person who has it, since they do not wish to have these, and it can get in the way of doing things they want to do. Symptoms are usually less controlled when person is tired, but "waves" of attacks will happen.
i heard of a special diet that helps somehow, but my borther did it for a few months and he was much better socially. I understand all the people with asperger, my mom had alot of trubles with my brother, even my own family told her to give him on adoption, but she didnt gave up, now he is in the best university of my country, he has alot of friends and im realy proud of him
If your child had aspergers, or autism....They would not have been so enthusiatic, wide eyed, or excited, esp in front of your eye contact or a camera....Enjoy your normal children :)
@ValKap2012 I disagree. I'm an aspie myself and got excited and hyperactive whenever something made me happy. People misunderstand the concept of having aspergers. They think we aspies are serious and indifferent. We're not. We just have a different perspective of the world. The fact that we show emotions in sometimes inappropriate ways doesn't imply we don't show them at all. Because we do. Regardless how unusual we are, we're still humans. Special, but humans.
@evade531 Tourettes and similar tic disorders are way more common in people with Aspergers than they are in others. They are related in that way, and is what was demonstrated here.
These days Aspergers is known to be more of a personality type than something that is "wrong" with someone. Medication may be needed for related issues (eg the anxiety of dealing with a random and hostile world), but not being an Aspie per se.
@HochmeisterJr17 Neurological symptoms are tough because the kids aren't always showing signs every second of every day. For example, a person with tourettes syndrome might have like 2 hours where they are almost symptom free so to a normal person, they might not think anything is wrong. I'm sure the video doesn't even show a fraction of it
I'm an Aspie too. It's not something that needs to be "cured". It's mostly a different way of thinking and looking at the world. Medicating someone to stop them from being different is wrong.
@adamt1049 there proddagys and shes luk 1 out of 150 are males 1 out of 600 are femals orginal to not be sexest it 1 out of 150 are aspies so 1 /150 are male 600/1 is fmales 1 out of 4 of girals i did resarchg with many docs and inter net
Anybody with Aspergers: Test yourself for LYME (blood under microscope also) and HPU (!), have your stool (not urin!) tested for mercury and other heavy metals after taking a high dose of chlorella (maybe 50 pills) or another chelator (MicroSilica by Biopure), but only under the supervision of a physician that is using the Dr. KLINGHARDT protocolls for it! You will be amazed! Microbes in you produce 100 x more microtoxines with todays electromagnetic exposure. Aspergers is a medical condition!
Do not let them diagnose your children with any form of disorder what so ever. And it's even more wrong to give them "medications". I really am diagnosed asperger syndrome and believe me it's obvious. I knew how to hide it untill i was 19 years old and then it really kicked in. There is nothing they can do for you in the first place accept giving u medications. Eventually the side affects are just as worse as the disorder itself. I accepted it and moved on without any meds.
she's a very pretty girl, i think it may be tics, you should say how bad they are to people have a better idea of wats going on. :) i hope all the best for you guys
I don't think that has anything to do with aspergers. I have it and I don't think I ever did that...... I suppose it's time to watch some old home videos.
WOW watching this memory brought back memories!! My son had the same INVOLUNTARY EYE MOVEMENTS..Not DRY EYES!!! Our original neurologist said we were stressing him out!! Even with AUTISM on his fathers side of the family! 6 years later we finally got the Tourettes diagnosis... She is a Beautiful little girl!! Good Luck!
i also have aspergers, and im glad hse was diagnosed young. now she can understand from earlier how she thinks differently, unlike me. I was constantly bullied and i didnt know why.
you, mom, have a very similar video voice to me, and I SO wish their had been scuba dving quails! PS same cute issues.. these kids... these kids, they rule the entire world soon, right? lol!
I'm an aspie and I've got that very same tic, for I suffer a little from Tourette's. What works for me is stimming. It feels SO DAMN good, and it eases my tics allright :)
My son (aged 35, with Aspergers) has always done this. He says he's 'looking at things from a different perspective'. I know he experiences his senses very differently (synaesthesia) and this often causes tics. It could be that your daughter is just experimenting with the way it feels when she stretches her eyes like that?
One thing I've learned after 35 years of living with my gorgeous aspergetic son is that, often, the answers are a lot more simple than we might think!
My son has AS and also has little tics...I see this video is old I'm wondering if you have found out anything or if has gotten better? Good luck with everything she's beautiful!
Diiimon inside & that's not a joke, treatment, no doctor, no pills:
-nigella sativa oil (1 tea spoon by day)
-invoque god to stop that, everytime the head is moving like that
-After washing; praying knees on ground, head on the ground (and it will improve concentration because it is a concentration thing, one time when she get's up, one time before sleeping)
@Omgsome1just No, it's not nervousness. Atleast I would highly doubt it as she doesn't look nervous otherwise. Though, I would guess nervousness would probably make the ticks for whoever has them, worse.
It's just ticks that people can't control. Maybe she does it when she's excited or have some other feeling, but I think it's just random. I think one of the most common ticks are blinking with your eyes.
@Omgsome1just the older one of them seems to make "unwanted" facial expressions, especially at the end. i might be wrong however, i don't really know much about tourette's
These aren't seizures. As with all ticks it's involintary but you can tell she's aware of whats happening. She even puts her hands to her face and kinda pulls down on her eye at one point when it's happening. But in one of your other videos, the one called Seizure Perhaps?, after she does this the 2nd time and is asked if she's okay she says "That was one of my seizures" This would not happen if it was a seizure. People who have seizures are not aware of them happening nor do they remember them.
@MichelleReno30 are you sure? if its aspergers syndrome i don't think it's involintary i think its more i have to do it. if its a tic then you might be right. but i have a/s and theres some weird shit i do like that but i don't have to, but then it feels rotton if i don't and makes me feel i can't cope if i don't. could be the same sort of thing- when i have my eyes shut at night i often can't sleep as i have to keep shutting my eyes a bit tighter or it feels like they're sticking together.
@MichelleReno30 sorry that wasn't for the seizure disscussion that was just for the involintary bit- they don't look like seizures they are normally for a lot longer, between 10-30 secs for a small kind and 2-5 mins at the most for a full blown tonic clonic one- i know because i work where there are a lot of seizures, i would suggest if it is a/s its more like my other comment and not a tic but i don't know- can a tic be controlled? or is what i said before a tic? (confusing myself now!)
@kennythecooldude u MUST like jonas!!! i LOVE him!!! even more than george michael!!! i used to have hair like george michael...and now i look like he guy from the movie: "powder"...check out my story on page 3 of the video: "NBA STAR ALOPECIA AREATA" under my lllldepechemodellll account and see my avie there ..my burns ..my stache..my beard..my brows..all gone =( i'm currently taking nardil and removing stress from my life to hopefully grow my hair back...THEN<--- i can start dating boys again.
Just noticed that this video is from 2008.Please pardon my hasty comments.Did you find anything out about what is going on with your daughter,if I may ask? Was it really seizures that caused those "tics" ?
Hmmmm,I am not sure if this is related to AS.My AS wasn't diagnosed during my childhood but I cannot recall anyone saying that I had tics or even repetative movement patterns, as many autists tend to have.Maybe it's just an tic during her physical and mental development or something? To my knowledge, such tics can occur in children and disappear with age.I at least haven't seen or heard of a case of a tic that causes a child to make big eyes,as a part of AS.
When does she tick. when she makes her eyes big? Throughout my childhood i had several ticks: massaging my hair, go round and rounds on the streets, suck my finger, tick with my eyes, move objects to certain places. Should i see the doctor? maybe its asperger? How do i know?
when did you begin suspecting that she had Aspergers? I have an 11 year old daughter who I think may have Aspergers...but it's so hard to get a diagnosis...
@kennythecooldude people with aspergers don't stutter much unless they have a speech impediment (it doesn't come as part of the package in general though). Also, it seems like someone who was diagnosed with aspergers wouldn't make fun of it by using that tired, old "ass burgers" spelling....
@fishycash She is still aware while she is doing the tics. I used to get petit mal seizures when I was a kid (and I am autistic too), and I was not talking in the process of one. I was completely unaware.
Wow, very interesting. I also have both of these diseases so it's good to know I'm not the only one with both. It's definitely not seizures. They are tics and they do last all day. I really do feel sorry for your daughter, not to be mean, but because all throughout elementary school I would be made fun of for my tics. And the fact that I was socially awkward just made it worse. But I wish her and your family the best of luck.
@coda623 I have been doing a tic thing with my eyes since I was about 12. It looks something like this girl, but not exactly. Is that something that is part of the autism in some people, or is it another thing that often appears in conjunction as Tourette's sometimes does?
@littlelily613 I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here, but I'll try to answer as best I can. Tourettes and is a tic disorder and the eye tic is a very common tic in those with Tourettes. Asperger's is more of a neurological disorder that affects a person's social skills. YouTube user "AspergersGirl" has some very good videos that go in depth about it. It makes it hard for people to be as social as neurotypicals. For me, I have a hard time coming up with things to say, among others.
I do that all the time, it's a little less obvious with me, but I catch myself even at church. People that don't know me, think I'm wierd. I'm just an aspie!
Thank you for posting this video. My son has been diagnosed with NLVD. He is manifesting this exact behavior. I was wondering if you could get in touch with me and perhaps direct me on next steps to help my son. Thanks :)
In today Germany systematic maltreatment of children is organized by the state and executed by snitchers. The psychiatric literature holds many reports of jewish children having been persecuted in exactly this way.Since WW2 psychiatry was regularly misused by Germany to discredit and persecute the NAZI victims.Germany pretended to pay compensation to get the former victims into the hand of shrinks certifying them being mental cases due to persecution.Sometimes they even got some 100$ compensation
i would tend to think tourettes as well. she seem's to be emotionally engaged even when staring off; though there are moment's where it appear's she has left the conversation, but only second's. I think my son may have AS. Mama's are incredible people
also i dont want to insult you or your doctor or your child or anyone for that fact but your daughter doesnt realy display Symptoms that resemble AS. children with AS usualy do not respond emotionally or have trouble displaying their feelings in social situations. your child reponded to the tone of your voice and gave an emotional response. also you would expect her to be physically clumsy and she looked to have a resonable amout of coordination. i do however believe she does have Tourettes.
@LeroyJenkins4 How can you make that assumption just by watching a 48 second video? Do you realise how long the assessment process is for ASD? In the UK it can take up to two years, maybe more and you have to have numerous appointments with professional people (doctors, paediatricians, therapists etc). Or are you diagnosed yourself and just wanna be the 'only aspie in the village' ?
@Xxfancythat79xX oh no you caught me dang, and i almost got away with it if it wasnt for you meddlin youtubers. you sir are smart you criticize me for making claims based upon little evidence yet you make the same infatuated claims but based upon NO evidence. no i dont have asperger's i do read books and i do know symptoms and other reeeal big words. i was guessing using the little information the video gave me and the knowledge i had previousily learned its fun that way what can i say?
@LeroyJenkins4 Sir? I am a woman. Also, what 'infatuated claims' am I making here? The only thing I have stated that I know to be true is the assessment process in the UK. I know this because my son is undergoing the assessments.
@Xxfancythat79xX haha how am i supposed to know if you are a man or a women? oh wait thats right not only am i the "only aspie in the village" i also have long distant mind reading abilities. oouh oouh oouh can you give me heat vision or the ability to fly in your next comment??? but all joking aside i do hope everything turns up ok for your son. i couldnt imagine what i would do if one of my children were diagnosed with AS. i will say a prayer for you and your son. the best of luck
hmmm this is curious. i wonder is your daughters tics directly linked to her AS because i didnt think tics were a symptom of AS. it is possible i gues because they are both, at their core, neurological conditions. Also it maybe possible that the tics are a result of the rituralized actions that most people with AS experience. . most children with AS also have a fixation with a certin topic or subject which they are usualy very knowlegdable on. may i ask what your daughters is?
Don't let the doctors over medicate her. Over medicating made me violently insane when I was a kid and it took away my childhood. I was diagnosed with asbergers syndrome when I was a kid too but I think it was a misdiagnosis. I'm very capable in competing with my peers if not more so.
Anyway, I have similar ticks but I refuse to take medications for it, I just deal with it as it is because its not that big of a problem at all. I don't even notice when I do them sometimes.
She's super adorable. and what she does looks much more like tics to me, I had a friend in primary school that did the same exact thing, as well as one that would smile all the time (not because she was happy lol). As far as having AS or another ASD, I can't be sure from the video. I don't think anyone could, she seems to be responding as a neurotypical child would but, I don't know her other behaviours. good luck!
@SumireIsrafel ya that you mention it. alot of girls at that age in grade school including my sister had this staring habit and i never quite caught on
Looks like Tourette's to me. I was diagnosed with Tourette's when I was 9 and I have these tics where I have to do things like that with my eye. They're not seizures...just things she has to do. My Tourette's is voluntary but if I don't do the tics, it doesn't feel right. I also have Asperger's.
Kill the aspies! Drive them to the oceans, and drown their young! Tie up their hands and feet, set fire to their faces, and let them slowly sink in quicksand! Create a huge beef grinder, then feed them through, slowly, feet-first! Shove thermite up their asses! Grease them up, and shove them down the throats of whales! Skin them alive then kill 'em all with fire!

i remember like 4 years ago i had this 2, my mom always said stop it and shit but it went away by itself, im now 16 years old so that was when i was 12 but I didn't do it every 5 seconds, like if someone reminded me of it it started all over again, only when people didn't tell me it stopped and at the end it went away
Did you ask for a 24 hour EEG? My daughters seizures didn't show on a regular EEG once and the overnight one recorded the activity. Is she still having these episodes? I just realize that you posted this in 2008. She ended up being diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis.
Oh man, I've lived with these things since I was like 5. Now I just look back and laugh... I used to have one really bad tic in which I just couldn't stop pursing my lips and crossing my eyes. Every once in a while I came out like that in a picture haha.
With time I have mostly reduced it to blinking and squinting my eyes. When anyone asks I just say that I can't see well :)
My middle son is 13 , he had ticks in preschool, i have epilepsy in family and got the eeg done when he was 9 to see if he had epilepsy and sure enough he did. I do have a 9 year old who has asperger's and has the behavior issues, sensory, and social problems. I had Easter Seals diagnose him when he was 5. Please get a second opinion it will save you from a lot more stress us mothers know our kids. I hope you get her diagnosis figured out.
@Tarquinbeaniebaby Wow. That is shockingly disgusting behavior. Do you really believe with any ounce of honesty that anyone would trade in a healthy child for whatever disability money they might be entitled to?
I used to laugh about seizures but I never really knew what they were but yesterday I decided to search it and I found a vid of a girl havin a seizure now I feel TERRIBLE!!!
I'm so sorry to everyone who may have experienced seizures
Xx beautiful girl xx
God bless all of u. And can someone plz explain what it is that she is diagnosed with? I now know what a seizure is but not sure what she has?
An this may seem weird but I feel as if I can relate to her an I can feel like I have missed

My older brother had the same problem with his head flinching, I think it was do to his stress with me, i was the smaller sibling literally getting on his nerves. I started having them to when i started work with an older man, we would slam tools next to each other out of hate, and to show we were not scared of one another we would try to not flinch, long story short we both have those nervouse tics. i think your daughter stretches her eyes open to relieve the stress off her nerves.
they are such cute kids!!! I have Tourette's and Asperger's also! I have eye tics like Portia, along with other kinds of tics. good luck to all of you!
@TheSchemer1 Your statement implies that Aspies can't have seizures. Neither seizing (which can have multiple potential causes), nor Aspergers have been fully researched. Where can you possibly come to the conclusion that Aspergian neurology couldn't AT ALL even POSSIBLY have a link? If you rule things out without reason, you close off potential doors of opportunity for understanding. Each Aspie case is unique, however similar they may seem.
What's wrong with her I don't see a problem?

Mycenaea 8 months ago
@Mycenaea so thats like a sign of nerviousness?
Omgsome1just 8 months ago
@Omgsome1just No, it's not nervousness. Atleast I would highly doubt it as she doesn't look nervous otherwise. Though, I would guess nervousness would probably make the ticks for whoever has them, worse.
It's just ticks that people can't control. Maybe she does it when she's excited or have some other feeling, but I think it's just random. I think one of the most common ticks are blinking with your eyes.
Mycenaea 8 months ago
@Omgsome1just the older one of them seems to make "unwanted" facial expressions, especially at the end. i might be wrong however, i don't really know much about tourette's
xxpinkstrawberriexxx 3 months ago
These aren't seizures. As with all ticks it's involintary but you can tell she's aware of whats happening. She even puts her hands to her face and kinda pulls down on her eye at one point when it's happening. But in one of your other videos, the one called Seizure Perhaps?, after she does this the 2nd time and is asked if she's okay she says "That was one of my seizures" This would not happen if it was a seizure. People who have seizures are not aware of them happening nor do they remember them.
MichelleReno30 9 months ago
@MichelleReno30 are you sure? if its aspergers syndrome i don't think it's involintary i think its more i have to do it. if its a tic then you might be right. but i have a/s and theres some weird shit i do like that but i don't have to, but then it feels rotton if i don't and makes me feel i can't cope if i don't. could be the same sort of thing- when i have my eyes shut at night i often can't sleep as i have to keep shutting my eyes a bit tighter or it feels like they're sticking together.
MrStudioManic 9 months ago

MrStudioManic 9 months ago
@MichelleReno30 sorry that wasn't for the seizure disscussion that was just for the involintary bit- they don't look like seizures they are normally for a lot longer, between 10-30 secs for a small kind and 2-5 mins at the most for a full blown tonic clonic one- i know because i work where there are a lot of seizures, i would suggest if it is a/s its more like my other comment and not a tic but i don't know- can a tic be controlled? or is what i said before a tic? (confusing myself now!)

Just noticed that this video is from 2008.Please pardon my hasty comments.Did you find anything out about what is going on with your daughter,if I may ask? Was it really seizures that caused those "tics" ?
Assasinchen2006 9 months ago
Regarding seizures - "Electroencephalography" (EEG for short) would be a suggestion.
Assasinchen2006 9 months ago

@kennythecooldude people with aspergers don't stutter much unless they have a speech impediment (it doesn't come as part of the package in general though). Also, it seems like someone who was diagnosed with aspergers wouldn't make fun of it by using that tired, old "ass burgers" spelling....

mylovesofmylife 10 months ago
Wow, very interesting. I also have both of these diseases so it's good to know I'm not the only one with both. It's definitely not seizures. They are tics and they do last all day. I really do feel sorry for your daughter, not to be mean, but because all throughout elementary school I would be made fun of for my tics. And the fact that I was socially awkward just made it worse. But I wish her and your family the best of luck.
coda623 10 months ago
@coda623 I have been doing a tic thing with my eyes since I was about 12. It looks something like this girl, but not exactly. Is that something that is part of the autism in some people, or is it another thing that often appears in conjunction as Tourette's sometimes does?
littlelily613 10 months ago
@littlelily613 I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here, but I'll try to answer as best I can. Tourettes and is a tic disorder and the eye tic is a very common tic in those with Tourettes. Asperger's is more of a neurological disorder that affects a person's social skills. YouTube user "AspergersGirl" has some very good videos that go in depth about it. It makes it hard for people to be as social as neurotypicals. For me, I have a hard time coming up with things to say, among others.

In today Germany systematic maltreatment of children is organized by the state and executed by snitchers. The psychiatric literature holds many reports of jewish children having been persecuted in exactly this way.Since WW2 psychiatry was regularly misused by Germany to discredit and persecute the NAZI victims.Germany pretended to pay compensation to get the former victims into the hand of shrinks certifying them being mental cases due to persecution.Sometimes they even got some 100$ compensation

also i dont want to insult you or your doctor or your child or anyone for that fact but your daughter doesnt realy display Symptoms that resemble AS. children with AS usualy do not respond emotionally or have trouble displaying their feelings in social situations. your child reponded to the tone of your voice and gave an emotional response. also you would expect her to be physically clumsy and she looked to have a resonable amout of coordination. i do however believe she does have Tourettes.
LeroyJenkins4 1 year ago
@LeroyJenkins4 How can you make that assumption just by watching a 48 second video? Do you realise how long the assessment process is for ASD? In the UK it can take up to two years, maybe more and you have to have numerous appointments with professional people (doctors, paediatricians, therapists etc). Or are you diagnosed yourself and just wanna be the 'only aspie in the village' ?

LeroyJenkins4 1 year ago
hmmm this is curious. i wonder is your daughters tics directly linked to her AS because i didnt think tics were a symptom of AS. it is possible i gues because they are both, at their core, neurological conditions. Also it maybe possible that the tics are a result of the rituralized actions that most people with AS experience. . most children with AS also have a fixation with a certin topic or subject which they are usualy very knowlegdable on. may i ask what your daughters is?
LeroyJenkins4 1 year ago

Don't let the doctors over medicate her. Over medicating made me violently insane when I was a kid and it took away my childhood. I was diagnosed with asbergers syndrome when I was a kid too but I think it was a misdiagnosis. I'm very capable in competing with my peers if not more so.
Anyway, I have similar ticks but I refuse to take medications for it, I just deal with it as it is because its not that big of a problem at all. I don't even notice when I do them sometimes.

Seizures are nothing to do with aspergers lol!
TheSchemer1 1 year ago
@TheSchemer1 Your statement implies that Aspies can't have seizures. Neither seizing (which can have multiple potential causes), nor Aspergers have been fully researched. Where can you possibly come to the conclusion that Aspergian neurology couldn't AT ALL even POSSIBLY have a link? If you rule things out without reason, you close off potential doors of opportunity for understanding. Each Aspie case is unique, however similar they may seem.
Show some compassion.
jonandra 1 year ago
@jonandra What I meant was that seizures don't necessarily have to be associated with asperger people (source: I have aspergers and I dont seize).
