If they have the recordings of all stars, especially of those that have passed away, then this game could still be picked up by someone with enough brains... and money.
All that needs to be done, is a updated graphics engine, like HL2 for example. I believe this game would be a seller.
@Techrat3D I'm hopeful (maybe pointlessly) that this might be the case. Afterall Duke Nukem Forever has finally risen up from the ashes. Why can't this? But yeah ultimately it would all come down to whether the original recordings were saved.
Graphically speaking a lot of the cut scenes had been completed and they still look decent enough, a little remastering however wouldn't go a miss.

Star Trek is such a massive pile of shit even game developers won't go near it. Shitty writing, cliche characters, shit dialogue, shit battles. Shit series for shit people.
I was waiting for this game to be released so many years ago, never seen this trailer before but I saw other trailer and an advertisement piece for it listed as supplimental merchandise.
Interplay were gonna release it but had huge issues financially. The game was pretty much complete but got thrown on the scrapheap! No one picked it up boo!!
Wow. I just found out about this game (saw an ad for it on pictures of another Star Trek game) and the graphics looked pretty awesome. Such a shame. :(
Holy Cow! I just found out about this game! WHY WASN'T IT RELEASED!!!! IT looks great! I have the 2 first games from the old days, they were kool for their time but this is what we've been waiting for! If they weern.y going to release it, I wish they would've made it availible for downloading or something!!! Or at least let us pre order it so they could get the funds! Now that Doohan & Kelley are gone we will never have another!!!
Rumor has it that some foreign game company has picked it up as is expecting a release sometime in 2009. Bet it'd coincide with the release of the new feature film expected to come out by then. Right now they seem to be working on updating the entire game and everything. I hope they decide to still use the original dialogues used back 11 years ago which were recorded by the actual original cast. Including Dee Kelley and Jimmy Doohan. Better keep our eyes and ears open I suppose.
Actually now that you mention it I don't. But like I said, best we just keep our eyes and ears open for results. I'm sure this should all be, "fascinating".
To the owners of the rights to create this video, I, and I'm sure millions of Star Trek fans, would be happy to pay good money to have this as a game, or even as a video episode! If the dialog was already recorded, they could go light years beyond this already great animation and create a historic original Star Trek episode! Star Trek Lives!
I know, they ran out of funds, basically from what i read the game was looking pretty good until certain creative staff walked out, others were hired with their own ideas etc, eventually the game went miles over budget and Interplay went down the pan financially so the game was scrapped... :(
Interplay is back today...but what happend to this game? It's terrible to see this...with Scotties original Voice James Doohan who's dead already :( would be so nice to get this game...
I myself always wanted to play the Secret of Vulcan Fury

Those graphics were pretty amazing for 1998. I can't believe no other publishers picked this up.

Because I saw the name of the game on a site about cancelled games that were supposed to be good.
Didin't say it was anything about star trek though.

Somebody at Viacom should resurrect this, either as a game or as a tv special. I understand all the dialogue was recorded!
