There goes that whistling moon walking usher again!............ OMG! Everybody thought Michael Jackson was the first to walk the moon walk.... It was HIM!..... That moon walking whistling usher!
My mom said that she used to cycle fast from school to watch McCloud on tv in the 70's back in Malaysia (they had lots of American movies),I'm not any longer a kid, though, and i like Columbo :-)D
I wish I could find the opening to NBC's Saturday Night at the Movies, from the early- to mid-1960s. But that was years before VCRs, and I suppose some jerk accountant at NBC told archives to trash it. I do have the theme, though...

I love when this was parodied on the Simpsons a few years ago.
Nelson as Columbo.
Dr. Hibbert as Quincy.
The Rich Texan as McCloud.
Burns and Smithers as McMillan and Wife.

I'm a big Mancini fan but that theme always freaked me out.

I always associate this song with the depression of having to go to bed early Sunday night to go to school Monday.

This is the 1976 theme and opening. Quincy was in the rotation for part of the season before being spun off.

This opening is one of my earliest memories - must have been 1972. For whatever reason, the flashlight was hypnotic. Thanks for posting.
