Niger, Nigra, Nigrum is black in Latin (if anybody has studies Latin the'll understand about declentions, if not..too bad). Negro is black in Spanish. UK whites pronounced it as in KNEE-GROW, US whites pronounced it as in NIGRAH till it stayed as Nigger. So Nigger is a lazzy pronounciation of Negro. Spanish ( and Portuguese) enslaved blacks prior to the UK or US, hence the use of the word, so Nagus etc does not belong here.
