@kagayaki actually it's the japanese version which never made it to america. so it stayed on the famicon and was never heard of by most americans. but being one myself, i researched it. so research it.
@bloodhound710 I was talking about the fact that ever since that scott pilgrim movie came out everyone says this FF2 was the one they were talking about in the movie. <.<
ahhhhhh the good ol nes and snes Final Fantasys. too bad Sony had to come along and destroy the one thing i cared about.... Final Fantasy but with FF13 Microsoft redeemed me.
@NARFNra Yeah, I know what you mean, most games of that time were like that, also Zelda I and II. But hey, that's what walkthroughs are there for :D (yeah it's kind of cheating, but then again, the games of that time had booklets included which contained quasi-walkthroughs, and if you're playing on an emulator, you usually don't have those)
@bla287 A lot of Final Fantasy fans hate it when the series tries anything new or different, at least in regards to battle systems and leveling up, etc.
This is why there's so much hate for FFXII, and so much love for XIII amongst the more devoted fanboys. XII tried something different, XIII was pure FF7 formula with zero frills or challenge. Similarly, FF2 tried a different method of raising stats and spell power and such, eliminating the XP system, and the fans hated it.
@outlier1985 You are correct for the most part however there could have been an easier clear cut method for the stat raising thing in FFII because half the time you have to use the required skill several time before you get an increase, kind of a pain, but still a good game despite that.
@outlier1985 I love classic FF, and I really loved FFXII it was new and great. But a lot of people hates it and I don't really know why... I didn't even try FFXIII, assisted game where you can only use one character? No thanks. And about FFII I found it interesting, that "leveling" system was good for me.
@Chauzenoux FFXIII may only let you use one character, but it's really because of the battle system. You couldn't make selections for every character in one go. But the plus side is you get to play as your fave character ONLY
FFII, I loved the skill-based leveling. I tend to make Maria use black magic, Guy fight and use white magic, and Firion constantly bash, occasionally using both types of magic.
This song was crazy cause you were like half way through the game before you heard it and it was like "WHAAA?! Different music?! Awesome!"

Almost makes me tempted to play the Famicom version of this son of a bitch.
But I'll stick to the PSP version if I ever get it in my head to play FFII.

@kagayaki this is bloodhound710's second channel, StarlightTrail. so when was this in scott pilgrim? let me know because i want to check it out.

@kagayaki listen to FF2's main battle theme
Listen to the Scott Pilgrim bassline
It's the same dumbass.

Learn your Final Fantasy then come back bro. Scott Pilgrim = FF4 baseline. Not FF2. He said FF2 cause it was released as FF2 in the US.
kagayaki 3 months ago
@kagayaki Dude, I play ff4 day in and day out. It's my favorite of all the games, and while this does sort of fit in that game, it fits better in ff2

Dissidia's version of this track is closer to the NES version.

I liked this game because it actually took some effort to defeat. The music was good, too.
Of course the only Final Fantasies I didn't like were X-2 (not to be mistaken for XII which I adored), VIII, and XIII. xD

Ah, how I love the "dissonant" nature of that song! Don't understand why it's called the series' "black sheep" by many players...

@bla287 It´s not the best one, but it´s a really good game anyways. I preffer this game over FF8

It's just the level up system and the lack of any real hints on where to go(e.g. Go to the mines! Where the hell are they exactly? *wanders*).

@NARFNra in FF1 XD I beat the last level before I beat the other two. I know how it can be with older games

Interesting to hear this after listening to the remix on Dissidia. This is just as good as it is on Dissidia.

Cool, the Famicom version doesn't just use the normal battle music for the final boss! =)
