Dennis needs to understand that increasing the supply of labor reduces wages. It's the number of immigrants not what we call them. There are 12 million illegal aliens. Changing their name to "legal" does not reduce their numbers. There are 850 million third world people living on less than one dollar per day, and only 300 million americans. Not having to suffer through the BS placed upon Americans at a lesser level I believe that he and virtually ALL of the other high office officials do not realize the amount of anger held for anyone that would legalize a people that simply finds their way past our borders & then declares that they have rights here in the US. Fact:they DO work together often. Kucinich has said he would choose Paul for his running mate and Paul has said that DK is his favorite candidate for president beside his own campaign. Check your logic homes:D
Logic tells me that a Libertarian and a socialist can not work together for long. I'm sure they have worked on issues like the raw milk bill and I know they agree on the war but they have an entirely different philosophy on gov't and it's role. I'm sticking with Gravel. But I do truly respect Paul for his strong convictions. I agree with him on the war, abortion, and personal freedom.
The purpose of the president is not to dictate economic policy to. Gravel is cool but we independents, progressives, reformists what haveyou, must unite and restore bring democracy to our country. the disenchantment with the system of intelleectuals is on either side of the spectrum and i think most of us (as RP and DK) believe first and foremost in democracy and see the special interest sabotage.
I support Kucinich because he is decidedly the candidate of social progressivism and the peace and justice movement according to every strawpoll i have seen. I like the idea of meging the campaign with the Paul people in the name of Democracy and the constitution. Congress will pass bills and the executive will approve or veto. The executive will make appointments and address the nation.
@LazyHippi - OK . That election has passed. Onward to 2012 ! I would like to see a Dennis Kucinich / Lou Dobbs ticket come forward. I like almost all of Kucinichs platform other than his stance on " Amnesty " for Illegal Aliens . Pushing for closing 1/2 of our worldwide bases , ending these ficticious wars & returning our troops home , Removing the Fed. Res. from any government usage, deporting ALL illegals & anchor babies from the US will ensure that this ticket will win back to back elections.
@TeslaDRay - Kucinich is correct that the US immigration policy is about the exploitation of the working class. I DO NOT agree with him that ILLEGAL ALIENS have a " self - declared " right to citizenship by - passing millions of other decent hard working people from around the World. Would any of these officials be willing to ask for Impeachment of Obama on the grounds that he not only lied about his Birth Certificate but has also sided with ILLEGAL ALIENS and sued Arizona. Fuck Obama !
@TeslaDRay - Would any of these of officials other than Jesse Ventura determine that an immediate re - opening of a " REAL " committee be formed to exact the truth about 9/11 and the Twin Towers buildings collapse. Nader = NO Paul = NO Dobbs = No Kucinich = No. While I believe that Jesse ventura lacks the finesse of a politician I also will state that he is unafraid to push for the truth about 9/11 and bring about a tax per item purchased tax system & finally be rid of the IRS. Anyone else ?
right. and yes fuck him. if kucinich melded with paul and dobbs, his stance would even out. either way all the men i listed have good hearts all in all and good heads.
@TeslaDRay - I don"t recall hearing that Nader endorsed a new commission on 9/11 . Politicians are typically quite snake - like in that you have to literally corner them with very precise questioning that forces them to detail their platform & any other info that you need to know about them & their view toward today's problems. To have someone likje Obama tell me that he has a plan for a " comprehensive ..." he can stop right there ! Every time I hear that word it means that it won"t get done.
Maybe, who knows (with this bunch i mean). politician or no politician, the few we brought up are better than 90 percent of congress and prez. why don't YOU run for office of some type? though you better bring some pepto, as the stench of washington dc can make you sick, lol.
Dennis Kucinich doesn't understand the concept of immigration. We have NEEDED doctors that specialize in their field WAITING to come to the US the LEGAL way and yet he wants every 3rd grade educated convict from Central America to walk right up. It is a slap in the face to the people doing the RIGHT thing. He is a LOONEY and FRODO IS A NO GO. Feel good BS from DK and his Dreamer wife. Locked out of the debate also.. ha ha ha
Could Denis ever think to ask Americans if they are willing to run to foreign nations , and ask for asylum to escape the expansion of Mexico ?
He seems to think we are just animals in a cage , and he is appointed by God to judge and decide who gets to take possession of , and own America for the next millennium .
I can't help wondering if Denis and Bush have the same mother , oh , Excuse me , I mean the same mental illness .

DK is so far to the left he cant even see the middle let alone th right. Its amazing that politicians on both sides continue to drift or even race to the left and right, they fail to realize how close to the middle the average american is.
funny that you say that because Dennis chose Ron Paul(most right wing candidate) for his running mate and they are friends in congress.two men of integrity i hope they form a new party and win they presidency.
To me Ron Paul would make a great choice for the opposing side ... representing the real Republicans ... would love to see the debate between Kucinich and Paul as the leaders of their own parties.
wouldn't it be a good idea for the real republicans and real democrats to unite in ousting the hegemony imposed on us by the elite corporate bankers?A KucinichPaul presidency could create the atmosphere in Washington for REAL change, real government. I don't think Ron Paul is a nut job, but he could speak in more practical terms rather than general rhetoric and i say the same about Dennis,if he would talk more specifically it would be more effective, he often comes across as radical populist.
haywood - Dennis Kucinich is not telling people what they want to hear to get elected. He is telling people what he believes and what he will do if elected.
If you research Kucinich that is what he has done for the past 40 years.
Kucinich for honesty and integrity. He does what he says he will!!!
It's your fault if all the politicians you vote for are liars. Mine aren't!!!
Your so hilarious. This is so true, and your absolutely right. Kucinich really says what he means and follows through. This is because he has confidence you don't see in most other candidates or politians, and he always has a clear vision of what direction he wants to go. I'm a big follower of Deepak Chopra...Dennis was recently in a film with him in a movie called, "The Shift Movie." Much to be learned from that documentarty, as well, re Kucinich.
this is just the beginnings of a no border policy. the erosion of of border will be a huge step in establishing a global government (New World Order) i am very much opposed to this.
don't get me wrong, i work with a lot of illegal immigrants. they are great people and they work very hard; but they should not be allowed to just come into this country and have every right that the citizens have.
And seeing as how you're a part of the voting population before OUR time, it means you're also the reason that this country's in the fucking mess it's in now, so shut the fuck up about needing to raise the age.
It's US who're going to have to clean up after YOUR mess.
Another liitle internet tuff guy talking with his keyboard.
Again a great reason to raise the voting age.
These littel kumbaya sing song DK wannabeez are pathetic. So pathetic that they can't even recognize the fact that this DK fool doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell.
All politicians are full of shit. They say whatever will get them elected. If presidential candidates really said what they thought they couldnt appeal to that many people. Becoming president requires a masterful ability to convince your party's voting base that you are the least full of shit out of all the other candidates when you promise to make all the voters wishes come true.
AMERICANS LOSING JOBS because they're DUMB asses. That's it. Ask any Americans you meet about global issues, basic math and other trivia. Dumb as hell. How comes these people expect to get paid $ 20 per hour with benefits while many smarter foreigners should earn less despite of better skills and merits.
Everybody spread the word that the polls are fake. They're trying to make it seem as if he has no chance. Tell everyone you know about this and tell them to tell everyone they know about it! Americans can't be this stupid. have faith and spread the word!
This fool doesn't understand the concept of immigration. It is a slap in the face to the people doing the RIGHT thing. He is a LOONEY and FRODO IS A NO GO. Feel good BS from DK and his Dreamer wife.
We don't enforce our immigration policies right now. What makes people think a new plan would be followed? Our policy would be fine if it was enforced!!! We already let more people in than most other countries if not at the top.
Stupid ass politicians when are you going to wake up?? America is dying because you want it to, you want your North American Union, so this talk about immigration policy is is just smoke and mirrors. Americans are loosing their jobs because you are too damn lazy to insist on things, you just like to talk. Solution? For every 1 job we give them, their country should hire one of us. If they come here illegally, send their ass back.. This is not a free for all.
he's right, immigration is cheap labor, plain and simple! the only way to end immigration is to provide desirable working conditions in immigrants' home countries, duh!
he's not presidential, in that he doesn't say things to make him look good, he would rather say what he thinks is right even if it turns people off, as a candidate you are trying to get the MOST votes not the RIGHT votes
This fool doesn't understand the concept of immigration. We have NEEDED doctors that specialize in thier field WAITING to come to the US the LEGAL way and yet he wants every 3rd grade educated convict from Central America to walk right up. WARNING: Kucinich is only half-human. He is from AREA 51. He is the progeny of a government experiment where human and alien (a Grays) DNA was combined. Periodically, an appendage extrudes from Dennis and connects to his wifes tounge piercing. This excites high frequency communications that invite other aliens to the US.
Kucinich want trade based on human rights, environmental laws and worker rights. What this means is trade with those who follow the same laws American companies must follow. This keeps American companies from running away from America to use slave labor, dump poison in the seas, and offer people in lands with dictators an oportunity to work for nothing while their leaders use profits for weapons. We have to develop a standard or the cycle of destruction will just never end.
It is heartening that Kucinich is not an "erase the border" nut of the kind we see so often in these debates. I think you will find that if we could ensure fair wages and labor practices for all these jobs, the labor shortages would dry up because more Americans would be interested in taking them. Enforcing fair labor would reduce incentive to entice illegal labor, and would move more substinence americans out of the service sector, which would be a win for everyone in America.
Every industry sector, including fruit picking and meat packing and other jobs famous for employing large amounts of migrant or illegal labor, predominantly employs American citizens. So the question is not will YOU work in a meat processing facility, it's will AMERICANS work in a meat processing facility. The answer is overwhelmingly "yes."

He wants to open the borders and let every anyone into the club. He also wants to give amnesty to all the law breakers. He will destroy this country maybe even more then Bush has done.
Our society would be better off if we re-establish such positions /professions as "sam the butcher".
Corporate government really means, the destruction of society via simplification & funneling wealth to the top few.
My father cut meat for a living, that job allowed him to work his way up the ladder -now he's worth millions. Our society has lost that for much of it's citizens by allowing this exploitation.
I agree with Kucinich 100%- up until the 22 second mark. As Kucinich rightly points out, this is an economic issue. The wages of America's working poor have been forced down due to the influx of cheaper (illegal) labor. It is the job of the U.S. Government to protect the interests of U.S. Citizens. The crisis in Mexico cannot be solved by ignoring the real problem.
I think you got it right. American business may be exploiting the migrants coming here, but they are coming here because Mexico cannot take care of its own people. We cannot solve the problems of Mexico by simply taking on their disaffected en masse, in fact this makes it worse. American business does have a hand in some of Mexico's hardship, but if you look at Mexico's history, their problems predate free-trade meddling by centuries.
if i wanted to maintain control over the ignorant masses of an industrialized country i'd appeal to their racism and xenophobia by politically exploiting the inhumane plight of undocumented migrant workers. pay no attention to your lack of any real freedom, idiots, focus on how much you hate exploited dark people that speak a different language
Kucinich You sound like you have a good head on ya and you really want to help America. Please.... Please don't be sold out ever it's not worth it a 1000 years from now you will be known if you don't.
Kuchinich, as always, is so right. And, as always, is the only one willing to say it like it is. Which is why the corporate controlled media mouthpiece of the corporate controlled government is determined to ignore and marginalize him. He's got my vote in 2008 no matter what.
"We desired paradise, but since our definition of paradise included 'peaceful', we never could fight hard enough for it, and so we never got it. We expected stronger others to give it to us, and of course they never did, since they were not us and their goals were different."
I just wrote it. But similar thoughts have probably been expressed since time immemorial. The paradox of Camelot is how one can construct a fair society when the unfair are willing to fight dirtier.
gotta love kucinich, i just wish he understood the dollar crisis and wasn't so hyped about universal healthcare. great man, though. i'd vote for him if he was in the general, and of course ron paul wasn't.
Finally, someone is calling it the way it is. The illegally recruited among us have been used as slaves--below minimum wage labor that can't complain, can't tell. And now they are to be emancipated.
I don't agree with his solution but he has correctly defined what's actually been going on here. First Africans, then Mexicans.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Africans didn't have a choice. Mexicans can certainly choose not to come to the U.S. or go back. Those breaking the law by illegally crossing the border don't deserve any wage.
Hes not any more goofy looking than Bush! Kucinish is too honest and reasonable to be elected by a population who voting decisions are largely based on religion or stupid party affiliations. The US won't wake up until we are hit by a couple nukes. That will be the only way the US will be "cleaned" of the corrupt political structure. When DC is a big hole in the earth it will get interesting...
Oh stop being part of the problem with this 'he can't be elected' crap. I know many people who say they will vote Kucinich or no one because they know the other candidates represent no choice at all. You want to discourage them with this bullshit language you use? It all starts with the media making it look like he has no chance. People like you become their unwitting mouth piece because you allow them to control your perceptions.
I take it back, all politicians are full of shit. They say whatever will get them elected. If presidential candidates really said what they thought they couldnt appeal to that many people. Becoming president requires a masterful ability to convince your party's voting base that you are the least full of shit out of all the other candidates when you promise to make all the voters wishes come true.

"a massive population that's been exploited"?? Give me a break. They come here voluntarily, illegally, willing to do work for less. If they don't like it, then they'd leave. Giving social and government benefits to these people is just further bankrupting our country, forcing American taxpayers to support an absurd policy of rewarding contempt for the law.
They are just taking jobs, that Americans should be doing for higher wages. That isn't racist, or blaming Mexicans, it's just the truth. Our corrupt government cooperates with the Mexican corrupt government create the conditions to destroy the USA and with it bring slave-labour to the entire North American continent.
They don't provide anything more than what a american citizen would provide. What they're doing it taking BILLIONS out of our economy yearly (24 billion sent down to mexico alone 11 billion Central America) The jobs they're "taking" for the lowest wages are only keeping people on welfare. Illegals have to be stopped!
Yes yes, "they have to be stopped", we'll throw billions of dollars are 'securing' ourselves against these illegals! I mean we have a lot of experience in this area, look at how well the war on drugs is going! All it took is a couple of dozen billion dollars and some press and we're now a drug free America! Yeeey for us!
Give me a fucking break. Are you saying you'd like to work in a meat processing facility? Those kill floor jobs are the ones no respectable American would take in the first place. Furthermore, hiring cheap illegal labor supports everyone else working at those companies, and stock holders as well. If you look into cities where illegals were driven out, the workers and citizens will tell you they were wrong.
you've fallen into their arguments. The use of such labor brings more problems than what it's worth. Sure exploitive companies want them -they're only looking at the short term. But we would all be better off to keep all sectors of our economy "respectable" so that everyone can earn a living wage. We would also be MUCH RICHER!
Flipo, you are an ignorant Bigot... period..and if your a flip (philipino) you should be ashamed of yourself, you are just an ethnic whore!...lmao.. bum
It's quite easy to pull the racist card & try to paint me as such. What have I said that is neither racist or bigoted.
Naturally, you yourself can't see that you're the one that places things into a racial context... assuming that my nic "flip" means anything about my heritage or nationality.
If you can manage, start presenting some facts PROVING your position. otherwise.. you're part of the problem.
I like a lot of Kucinich's ideas, but how can you control the border without guards or a wall? It doesn't make any sense to me. If there are better jobs here and nothing to stop illegal immigrants from coming to get them... then they'll come and get them by the millions.
The only way to stop Mexicans without building a wall is to reform Mexico so they don't want to leave. We can either build a wall or support opposition parties in Mexico.
not tru, the answer is easy. instead of arresting and deporting illegals u lock up the owner of the bizness or head of the biz for no less than 5 yrs. if there is nobody to willing to hire illegals they wont be able to make money and will have to go back to mexico. so instead of ne walls use half of that money to build a prison for violators. thats how u solve immigration. vote ron paul
And YOU know? You aren't out of touch? Are you an illegal immigrant? Are you a lower-class Mexican? I bet you aren't.
He's on the right track. The problem isn't Mexicans coming to America, the problem is that America is fucking up all these other countries, economically speaking, thus forcing their people to come here and claim what's rightfully theirs.
I live 30 min away from the worlds busiest border (San DIego/ TJ) YES I know more than you seem to expect by attending conferences among diplomats, chatting up both our and mexican public officials over dinner. The usa's policies have been directed to keep the lain american nations subservient to our desires. However our nation is severely out of balance nowdays and by allowing mexico's pressure valve to move up here to drain our economy (payback) is wrong on several levels.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The best thing we could do is to deport all of mexico's citizens thereby forcing mexico to provide for her charges while we shape up on our end by fixing our society as well.
The rest of this nation is insulated from what the rest of us know well. The poor mexican citizens believe that all the southwest belongs to them and that they'll be able to take it back via occupation of the land.
kucinich says what he says because he has no chance of winning. thats alright tho, because if he just wanted to win he would be a racist creationist authoritarian and win the gop nomination 3 times over
kucinich has been saying the same things throughout his career. it has nothing to do with the presidential election, u r just hearing it now for the first time i guess

TeslaDRay 1 year ago
@TeslaDRay - Kucinich is correct that the US immigration policy is about the exploitation of the working class. I DO NOT agree with him that ILLEGAL ALIENS have a " self - declared " right to citizenship by - passing millions of other decent hard working people from around the World. Would any of these officials be willing to ask for Impeachment of Obama on the grounds that he not only lied about his Birth Certificate but has also sided with ILLEGAL ALIENS and sued Arizona. Fuck Obama !
BoxGuy1951 1 year ago
@TeslaDRay - Would any of these of officials other than Jesse Ventura determine that an immediate re - opening of a " REAL " committee be formed to exact the truth about 9/11 and the Twin Towers buildings collapse. Nader = NO Paul = NO Dobbs = No Kucinich = No. While I believe that Jesse ventura lacks the finesse of a politician I also will state that he is unafraid to push for the truth about 9/11 and bring about a tax per item purchased tax system & finally be rid of the IRS. Anyone else ?

@TeslaDRay - I don"t recall hearing that Nader endorsed a new commission on 9/11 . Politicians are typically quite snake - like in that you have to literally corner them with very precise questioning that forces them to detail their platform & any other info that you need to know about them & their view toward today's problems. To have someone likje Obama tell me that he has a plan for a " comprehensive ..." he can stop right there ! Every time I hear that word it means that it won"t get done.

Remove the Federal Reserve from US soil with a " You"ve been Paid In Full " Bill HR4Q1
Close 1/2 to 3/4 of all US bases around the World
Stop the use of " genetic modification of ALL foods
Incarcerate Bush , Cheney , Rice etc. for TREASON
Remove All Illegal Aliens & their Anchor Babys

Bilateral trade is what kept the great depression going strong. Kucinich, you had me until the last 10 seconds of this clip.
rappjo 4 years ago
Kucinich want trade based on human rights, environmental laws and worker rights. What this means is trade with those who follow the same laws American companies must follow. This keeps American companies from running away from America to use slave labor, dump poison in the seas, and offer people in lands with dictators an oportunity to work for nothing while their leaders use profits for weapons. We have to develop a standard or the cycle of destruction will just never end.
votekucinichnow 4 years ago
It is heartening that Kucinich is not an "erase the border" nut of the kind we see so often in these debates. I think you will find that if we could ensure fair wages and labor practices for all these jobs, the labor shortages would dry up because more Americans would be interested in taking them. Enforcing fair labor would reduce incentive to entice illegal labor, and would move more substinence americans out of the service sector, which would be a win for everyone in America.
LacusOdii 4 years ago 3
Oops, I don't mean the caucus and primary debates, I mean the political debate.

Corporate government really means, the destruction of society via simplification & funneling wealth to the top few.

I agree with Kucinich 100%- up until the 22 second mark. As Kucinich rightly points out, this is an economic issue. The wages of America's working poor have been forced down due to the influx of cheaper (illegal) labor. It is the job of the U.S. Government to protect the interests of U.S. Citizens. The crisis in Mexico cannot be solved by ignoring the real problem.
zaphod2016 4 years ago 6
I think you got it right. American business may be exploiting the migrants coming here, but they are coming here because Mexico cannot take care of its own people. We cannot solve the problems of Mexico by simply taking on their disaffected en masse, in fact this makes it worse. American business does have a hand in some of Mexico's hardship, but if you look at Mexico's history, their problems predate free-trade meddling by centuries.

Give me a fucking break. Are you saying you'd like to work in a meat processing facility? Those kill floor jobs are the ones no respectable American would take in the first place. If you look into cities where illegals were driven out, the workers and citizens will tell you they were wrong.
CamelDrifter 4 years ago
you've fallen into their arguments. The use of such labor brings more problems than what it's worth. Sure exploitive companies want them -they're only looking at the short term. The only way to stop Mexicans without building a wall is to reform Mexico so they don't want to leave. We can either build a wall or support opposition parties in Mexico.
77777thisworks 4 years ago
not tru, the answer is easy. instead of arresting and deporting illegals u lock up the owner of the bizness or head of the biz for no less than 5 yrs. if there is nobody to willing to hire illegals they wont be able to make money and will have to go back to mexico. so instead of ne walls use half of that money to build a prison for violators. thats how u solve immigration. vote ron paul

The best thing we could do is to deport all of mexico's citizens thereby forcing mexico to provide for her charges while we shape up on our end by fixing our society as well.
