  • ...No singing? D:

  • *Finds this series on random*

Alfred? An old kids' show with Nazis? SIGN ME UP.

*Watches opening for the first time*

    Akira Miyazaki?

...HE WORKED ON THE 90'S MOOMIN SERIES TOO.

    FUCK YEAH.

  • It has been so many years since I watched this... And I now that I look back at it, it was about Hitler.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt We had a cd of the original version (dutch). And I listend it like all the time. My mother always explaned the story to me, and that's why I always new it was about WO2. I think it was really good that Herman van Veen (the creator of Alfred and the story) made this, because this is a very simple way to explane WO2 to your kids.

  • german one is the best one

  • this was my absolute favourite show when i was a little kid!! though i watched it in hebrew and it was called 'shaltiel kwak' but so happy i finally found it, my parents tell me i was obsessed with this show :P

  • thanks man thats awesome :!!!

  • Is there a version of Alfred J Kwak with the original voices but just english subtitles?

  • What the hell is up with the background music and soundeffects?!!! I can't believe they let this air :o

  • @Dougurasufilm think of it as like ed edd n' eddy sfx with realistic background noise and decent music... thats the only way i can explain it

  • @SimaoFan I'm sorry?! Compared to what it's supposed to be, this doesn't sound like decent music O__O and realistic background noise and.... ed edd 'n eddy sfx?! Sorry, it's just a mess up from someone.

  • I remember this series being so strange. They seemed to bring in everything from everywhere. At one point I remember that Dolph the school bully becomes an avian Hitler and everything seems to become the third reich. However in another episode, as I can see here in the list of episodes, they have fowl version of Michael Jackson and everything seems up to date. And what the hell is that thing with the claws that picks up alfred in the credits?

  • @BelatedCommiseration Well that clawed monster was never shown in any of the episodes...deleted episode perhaps? Anyway Alfred J Kwak is supposed to reflect 20th century you know. The fall of monarchy, the rise of and fall of National Socialism, then later Waterland turns into democracy. Also drugs (or doping), war because of religion (middle east crisis), overfishing, desertification, acid rain are all mentioned in the series. Overall it's very educational for "children's program"

  • wait... did the OP not go "Alfred is so jolly, so weary weary jolly"

  • where can either buy the complete dvd set or watch all eppies online or something? :)

  • Leuke stemmen !!!! nooit gehoord in het engels

  • inderdaad, helemaal niet slecht gedaan :) ik vind deze ook best leuk.

    mja nederlandse blijft beste XD

  • This is the most epic cartoon ever!

  • rurmundo: Then don't watch it if you hate it!!!

  • Exactly!

  • thank you for uploading, i remember almost always missing this show, even though i really enjoyed it in all aspects.

  • thanks for the memories!

  • UK english dub has more of a very nice touch than US english dub, but it's the money that comes first after all!

  • wychowałem się na tej piosence.. i uczyłem sie nagielskiego...

  • Ja też = D (Me too!)

  • Do you mind translating in English? Just interested. Did this screen in Poland too? I wasn't aware.

  • Brings back a lot of great childhood memories for me.. :) Thanks for uploading!

  • What a fantastic theme tune!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you to put this great cartoon online. It was one of my favourite as a kid (and it's definitely one of the best show for children, with all the aspect explored within the series).

I watched them in French as a kid, but it's better than nothing to see them in English!

  • Still prefer the dutch version

  • omfg this is it!...

I loved this when I was little..

  • I liked the english theme song very much but dubbing didn't convince me at all... Used to watch this in finnish when I was young :)

  • Heh, I used to do that too (and s actually doing it now, too- it's only now that I'm old enough to get what's going on) =)

  • Despite the dreadful English dubbing I'm really glad you upped these. I've watched this episode alone in Finnish, German, Dutch, Japanese, but not in English until now, so it's great!

  • Interesting to see this in English. The voice acting is making me rather sad, though. Give me the Dutch version any day. :)

  • Thank you so much for the 12 episodes so far..

It's soo hard to find Alfred in german.

I loved watching it when i was young,

but english is nice as well..

..except from that not matching intro-song ^^

    thanks again :-)

  • at 5:46 there is eyes in sky...

  • Thanks for the uploads, man. Any idea if you're going to be able to get any more episodes up?

  • Thanks man, too bad they didn't put effort in the voice acting. It's really emotionless.

For example, in the original dub most of the character's have children's voices. But in the UK dub all the kids have deep adult voices.

But further then that, it's great to see that the English dub of this anime/cartoon did not bite the dust.
