  • ~* I LOVE this version ~*~*~ Tori + Piano = Perfect xo

  • I really love the album version. One of her strongest songs easily.

  • @FarewellBlackSwan Yes, this version is much better!

  • This is an awesome song and i absolutely love that dress! xx

  • I get it with no other artist I listen to.

Every song has brought me to tears at one time or another... I get butterflies whenever I listen to her and think about her. I think I am truly in love with this woman and her music! Tori Forever!

  • such a beautiful song a true gem from classic tori even though she evolved this song remains true to her roots

  • what a true honest musician, the woman is a true artist when i hear the current music of today, i feel really bad that many people dont know true music like tori and her bosendorfer

  • She just plays these on one take. I mean, what IS she?

  • God I know what you mean! I have just been blowed away by her accoustic version of Beauty of Speed, so I came here to check out Rosey....Wow! The songs show completely fifferent aspects of themselves when it's just Tori and the piano...it breaks my heart!

  • Shes just so incredibly elegant, sexy and talented.

  • Major talent!

  • This is easily one of her best live performances. My goodness, she transformed a gorgeous song into an even more gorgeous song!

  • Where did this vid come from by the way? Was it on TV or somethin'?

  • God.... She never really disappoints me :D

  • I love how you can see tears in her eyes at 5:32

  • This song is so fantastic when she plays it only with the piano. Goosebumps. It almost breaks your heart...

  • Absolutely sublime!! This is one of Tori's more sophisticated songs... gets kinda confusing at times. But she is amazing live.

  • I enjoyed American Doll Posse

  • i love her....and everysong girl that goes with her! this song gave me gooseumbs like this....omg! xD i love watching her go from album to album....she grows so wonderfully....i cant imagine those of you ho dont like all of everything she does! i feel she is a channel of multiverses and little faires that show themselves...she becomes a vessel...oracle...and beyond

i like everything she has done from little earthquakes to the abnormally attratcted to sin prevew

  • @tkameron i agree w/you 110% she never stops amazing me! and i'm so happy someone else agrees that she grows wonderfully w/everything she comes out with :)

  • but what's it about?

a friend of mine thinks the line "married to the effortlessness of the cracks that lie now between the facts" refers to a sort of dishonesty/selling-out or acceptance of the "easy life" as opposed to living fiercely and authentically

    it's a tricky song

  • If it is about that, I can relate to it.

  • on the last verse of this performance - you can see, hear and feel her soul.

  • I think that this song is one of the strongest lyrically she has ever written.

I really do prefer the piano solo version. She sounds fantastic performing this song.

Now, I don't dislike the band version. There's a unique intensity to the speed and denser sound. But I feel that it is stronger solo, and I wish it was solo on the record, and only hear the band in convert.

I mean, I love when she does "Horses" w/ the band, but there's a reason the solo version is on Boys for Pele.

  • wow....what an amazing performance....that last verse is even more potent live....about her and politics....I think an artist should always express what they are feeling or seeing through their art...politics included...I think the worse thing an artist can do is engage in self censorship...it just kills creativity.

  • This song is way better with just her and the piano IMO.

  • the way i see it, shes an artist, touching on topics she finds disturbing (like regarding politics) and i dont have any "i wish" here. its her artistic freedom that takes her anywhere. lol if the rest of the american population remains numb to the infantile politics of their leaders, at least there's someone who speaks up.

  • ...exploring human experience? you have it right there, still. how she sees/experiences politics, its still part of human experience. why apply any limitations to it? like "ok tori, sing about you rape experience as much as you want, thats ok, but we are not interested in how you experience politics."

  • i am interested actually

  • listen pedro abrunhosa, he and his piano.. take a chance, if you like music

    portuguese greetings

  • I would cry with happiness if Tori released this version :)

  • Fell totally in love with this song on the album and now this..the only word is wow.Lyrically this song is amazing, so well written, wonderful imagery, rhythm and pace. 'Nightingales who throw their arms up. When is enough enough'So powerful. Don't judge her, if you love her just accept her and all her eccentric glories.

  • Absolutely fantastic. How adorable

  • tori is the best fuckin singer i have ever heard...

she and the piano = PERFECT!!

    <3 i adore her.

  • LOVE TO TORI! THANKS FOR SHARING!!

  • I could listen to only Tori. Can you feel the love...

  • Where?

  • I LOVE this version much better than the CD one; I LOVE the songs when it's just her and the piano. I don't think American Doll Posse had ANY just her and piano, and very few that didn't have that "rock band" sound, which I'm not a fan of...

  • I know; I wish the next album would be just 10 or 12 songs with her and the Boxe only. I understand her wanting to travel new musical directions, but I think the "rock band sound" is a little over done at this point. And (though a lot of people might disagree) I'm also getting tired of the politics.

  • oh my goodness, i agree with you SOOOO completely. Just her and the piano for her next CD would be AMAZING. No more rock band, please. Sorry, Tori. And i TOTALLY get you with the politics... what happened to her exploring the human experience and psyche and spirituality??

  • Outta of me onto you

    -ani difranco

    self to selfless

  • Tori and solo piano for the next album would be great; or she could even do multiple pianos (like how Enya does voices). I'm fine with the rock band sound, it's just becoming a little overdoen for my tastes. I miss how for the first four albums, you could tell where a song belonged just by hearing it; the past three albums have sounded a little too alike for me. I'm tired of the politics because it's one thing she doesn't treat with her typical sensitivity.

  • I agree. I personally think her best albums were everything leading up to and Boys for Pele. I think she took it as far as she could with boys. I think Scarlets walk was a step in the right direction. She needs to get back to that quirky solo piano sound . . . with real guts. But I think we should be happy to have so much great music to listen to in the firt place. Right?

  • i do agree i just want her to come out witha album like just her and her bosendorfer

    she's so good

    i miss it

    it makes me cry....

  • the only problem with these requests to be just "tori and piano" is that NONE of her albums were just her and the piano. there have always been strings, guitars, bass, drums. while the piano was more noticeable, it was never alone. even on bfp which has much more raw production, there was the harpsichord and drums and guitars heavily in certain songs.

  • You are correct.

But I was never calling for a return to a mystical era of just Tori and the Bose. I was saying I WISH she would just do her and the Bose.

  • @heroes4evrr

Same with her Beauty of Speed. MUCH better here than with the beat and the band.

  • Very good, i love tori amos

  • GODESS!

  • porco dio che figa me la scoperei

  • wow..that's all i can say..wow

  • Oh my gosh it took me a while to warm up to the studio version of this song, but I love it now. I like this one more than studio version, it's much more passionate!

  • the best song on posse. keep it up tori, we love you

  • la grande classe.....

  • That choked me up. Definitely better than the version of the album, but I'd like having them both.

  • this is actually one of my favorite songs by tori. i love this whole album. i'm not crazy about her new hair, but she's gorgeous no matter what.

  • her bosendorfer's her new friend... love ya tori

  • goddd.. the same with this one...

so much nicer and sensible than in the album. those incredibles ups and downs in her voice... the strengh, intensity. incredible.

  • I know, I heard this version before the one on the albumn, and when I heard the albumn one I was like, "NOOOO!"--it's so much better when it's simpler, just her, not so over-produced

  • oh definitely--I prefer the studio version actually (so far, anyway), but with all her songs, that's why I always make sure to wait for the album before I listen to any performances of it--it keeps the studio cut from being disappointing on the first listen. :)

  • She sings and speaks out of my heart... Im going to see her Saturday in Frankfurt...

  • Why won't Epic release this in a high quality sound format =(

  • 'cause then we wouldn't go buy the album...the losers.

  • I'd buy it as a single along with the LP version

  • This is my fav song off American Doll Posse...can't wait to see in Manchester in July....She is so the best ever.......

  • great song. classic tori but still so darn original!

this new album is fantastic. it has really made me appreciate her more recent stuff, for some strange reason. however, it sounds like a combination of all her past styles.

    im babbling...

  • I totally hear a lot of her other albums in her new one. too true.

  • Oh yess, this is my favorite song on the album. Every song she's written is good, she just can't write a bad song!!

  • gosh she has always amazed me she is incredable and her live performance are incredable she always sings from her heart. I get shills down my spine I cannot wait till she tours here in California.

  • one of T's best songs ever!!! great solo version!

  • This version is so much better than the one on the album...

I want an "only-piano-single" of that song!

  • Does anyone knows where you can buy this video? Is it on a dvd? Of with her latest album? (I already bought it, but that doesn't include this video.., too bad!!)

  • this is great! I am definitely seeing her live.... I read that she is considered one of the best artists to give a live performance.

  • oh, she IS. she's AWESOME live. :D if you go to one of her shows, you will not be disappointed.

  • I just saw her perform a few days ago and yes, she was magnificent.
