I LOVE YOUR FINDING IT'S GOING TO BE A CALLEANGE BUT IT'S WORTH IT PLEASE KEEP US UPDADED AND IF YOU NEEDS HELP FINDING PARTS OR TOOLS LET ME KNOW IF I CAN HELP TAKE CARE ALSE YOU HAVE GREAT FAMILY.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs + injection and tank clean and rustfree
I always laugh at the comments- you can tell when someone knows anything or its just ignorance- you have a great find and please take lots of photos on the rest. progress. That little girl of yours will have fun driving it!!!
Fergeddabout that old MGA (unless it's a Twin Cam). Get that Healey up and running. It's got a non standard exhuast which will make for a bloody hot driver's footwell, but that is sure one sweet car !
Thanks. You should post your cars for us to enjoy. What do you mean non-standard exhaust? This is what came on the BN7. I now have a stainless system on it but it is the same design. Also, you should drive an MGA. 69 horses is nothing but they are a blast on the twisties. I can lose much more powerful cars on certain roads because my A handles great. It is a very comfortable car and a blast. It of course cannot stay in the rear view mirror of my E-Type on a GS road. Cheers
@scheese You have an E-type Jag, an MGA *and* a big Healey? I cannot describe how jealous I am right now. :-) I learned to drive in a '59 MGA and now drive a '77 MGB GT, but you own three of my dream cars. What carb setup do you have now on the Healey?
