  • Also I assume all you have to do when you are having your surgery is inform your doctor before hand that you have health insurance. I am currently UN-employed so I'm going to a public doctor with my partner and son, so health insurance has not been a problem up until this point. Did working out work for you before your actual surgery to form muscles work out for you? Thanks for the help bro, cheers!

  • Hey buddy- cheers for these vids- they are really helpful up here in Brisbane. I just have a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering? Im a dork when it comes to health insurance. Top hospital and extras cover will be what I should be looking for when choosing cover for my top surgery? Is there a usual waiting period before claiming major surgeries?

  • Do you happen to know how much (roughly) top surgery costs without insurance?

  • @Jayson52633 hey mate, do you mean with the same surgeon i went with? Because I quote this difference in this vid at 01:10- It's $5462 (price is only for 1 night hospital stay)

You can read a full cost breakdown of top surgery with Dr Megan Hassall WITH or WITHOUT health insurance in the last pages of the article I wrote on my top surgery experience (link to article in the description bar)

  • Second this statement of health insurance importance for aussie trans guys.

I had surgery with Dr Megan Hassall without it - and was substantially out of pocket due to that fact.

  • @theskyisdeeper Thanks for the back up bro!
