@juanbbien I honestly will never know why people like you look these things up to deliberately just leave negative remarks. If you didn't like the programme, you didn't have to watch it then and you're not forced to watch it now. It's just a bit of fun :-)

End of an era for Saturday night TV. Pretty much every decent Saturday Night show didn't survive into the new millenium and now we're left with endless reality shows. Do you have the full final episode? Would be great to see it in full. I was 12 when it ended and can remember the final episode and being quite upset as it was my favourite show on Saturdays.
@Mike9586 Unfortunately, I don't have the final episode in full. This clip was actually taken from a site called TV & Radio bits, which has since shut down. They had loads of clips of old TV programmes on there, even down to a chronology of all the pre-program BBC inserts like the old red and yellow hot air balloon etc. Don't know why the guy took it off the web tbh.
Noel's House Party was great. Just as great as Noel's Christmas Presents but the BBC stupidly got rid of both. Looks like the last sketch bombed as no one was laughing.
The 90s was the best for british tv! ever since this ended its all just been crap :\ fair enough we had the likes of big brother ,celebrity get me out of here, xfactor but thats all we have had for the past 12 years!! Its boring now we need somthing new!! if not bring this back or the other 90s tv shows!!
@kevinturvy i will agree with you about all these crap talent shows but i use to absolutly love this show when i was much younger watching it with my nan
what would people rather watch these days quality saturday night tv with noel with NTV, and gunging people for a laugh or some soppy twat with emotional problems on the x factor vote up if u like this and NHP
You're damn right it was the end of an era. From then on the Entertainment Department's jobs was to create the cheapest shit imaginable, preferably involving phone ins.

It's staggering to thing that Noels House Party almost limped on into this century.
The first two or three series were alright, but long before the plug was finally pulled it had started to smell worst than a one week old turd under a radiator. Still, at least Edmond's was laughing all the way to his off shore account in the Cayman Islands.
Its funny coz there is a generation of people who remember watching shows like this who are about 18-25. One of my mates is 35 and when I asked him if he used to watch this he just says no I woz out drinking I woz about 20 at the time so why would have watched it. But if you were a kid at the time you would have had to stay in and have a bed time so you watched it!
It's strange. I wasn't really a fan of Noels house party when it was first on air. Now though after watching the clip, I miss it. Many happy childhood memories from around the time this was on our screens.
Noel really did not like getting foamed, as he agreed that he wanted the ending to be quite emotional, hence why he got it right in the eye as he was not expecting it. Even his body language tells us that he wants Starr to go away
i ust 2 love watching this when i was younger me and my nan would always watch this on a saturday night it was soo funny i wish they would bring this back it was soo grate. there is nothing really good 2 watch on a saturday night anymore
yer can say what you like about Noel, but he was the Ant and Dec of his generation and made saturday nights a cheeesey but happy place - watch out for an Edmounds comeback on the bbc
luv Cheggers saying ' lets go to the dressing room for a pint, I've got a private stock' , Given he was an alcoholic, Noels house party all you can say is Alan Partridge
A guy on the show was going to do a bungee jump as one of the stunts, a clip on the equipment came loose and, well....yeah. His name was Michael Lush.
Really? I was quite young at the time but I always thought it was something about a stunt where the guy was in a box in or attached to a helicopter. Something went wrong and it fell a massive height from the helicopter and he died. I'm sure that's what I heard on the radio news as a young child. Maybe I'm mixing it up with another news story.
not that, but something like that on another show Noel did. On House Party, someone was found to be "playing" with themselves, and so there was no hidden camera for that episode
there are too many reality/voitng shows on the bbc now its dull. Why do the BBC want to over-democratise everything nowadays, its dull!! Bring back some proper shows and let entertainers entertain without the interverence of the public- like they used to do!
marvellous show - have you noticed by the way, that the floor manager or whoever of SwapShop says "ten seconds everyone" before the start of the show at 2:17, and then they all go off for a pint?!
I used to love this programme for the first few years, but I didn't watch it after about 1997 because it went from bad to worse. In 1999, ratings were getting low so the BBC axed it. Bringing it back, even for a one off (like that crap Swap Shop thing Edmunds did a couple of years ago) would be stupid. The Royle Family and Only Fools and Horses are a couple of examples of how bringing great shows back when they were running a bit thin at the end of their original run is a bad idea.
Saturday night TV has never recovered since NHP ended. When will the BBC stop churning out endless talent shows and bring back proper family entertainment. Its probably because they are so cheap to make as the format is always the same.

GOD i love this show, im from new zealand. do they have this on dvd or something?
mike2977 3 years ago
No, unfortuately they don't. I think it would fill up a fair few tho, as the show did run for five years nearly every saturday of the year (give or take a few months)! Maybe we should ask the BBC...
