I just ordered a Ron Ewing...do you need different strings for the CGG or can you just tune down the step w/o rattle?

thanks - I appreciate it! For the longest time, I used .015's for CGG - with a .028 bass - I didn't get too much rattle. Some dulcimers handle the drop tuning better than others - I don't think I own a single one. Heh.

thanks! you should look near you - try entering "mountain dulcimer" and your city name in Google - it's a good way to find local builders. It's best to get your hands on one where you can actually play it!

Not only a great performance and composition - great audio/video quality as well. Kinda John Jacob Niles meets Woody Guthrie and produces a Robert force-style rap. A lot of sound from a little dulcimer!

Thanks man! Angelique definitely has a big voice for only having a piezo pickup. I think it's the walnut. And to think, we customized her from an acoustic kit and cut half of her soundbox down to size for use in a rock band!
