LOL. D = Dynamite (To blow up the big hills with), Spacebar = Ghost Fan (To dispatch casper), and F = Flare (Takes care of the bat problem). I still remembered this from when I played this as a kid back in the early eighties... Amazing how I remember this but then forget my keys sometimes!

@Harmik2 NES Spelunker had some fantastic music, but the controls were twitchy, even moreso than the original version. Broderbund's original version played much better.

This is nice on the Atari and even outdoes the arcade version in terms of it's warmer colours used - arcade feels cold in comparison i find

C64 has a neat version too

You know, if you like this game you should really try 'Spelunky', a free downloaded game for the PC based on this game. It's really fun.

OMG! How I loved this game! Of all the gaming systems and the internet games this one remains my all time fav! Does anyone where I can download this and somehow play! The sounds...oh such memories...the tears after HOURS of playing and just missing the end! ROFL!! :D

Yes you can play this game on modern system. You have to download Atari emulator - like atari800, and download the rom image of this game

This is one of my all-time favorite games. The game was originally released by MicroGraphic Image, and was later re-released by Broderbund. The version in the video is the original; the Broderbund version has a different intro. Thanks for posting.

this game used 3 keyboard keys:the spacebar was the fan, used to blow away the ghost.

A second key was used to set dynamite-to blow big mounds like at the end. you could also shoot up a flare to scare away the bat.(D and F?)

I finished the whole game ONCE. it took hours!! BTW, most emulator images for this game are cracks,with the wonderful open music removed!!!
