@THE79SOL I used 3mm after taking a vernia gague to the original glass. I wanted the drivers door window to slot back into the channel so it would still function. Persex can become brittle in UV light so you need Pollycarbonate/Lexan. It works out about the same price as well.
Mate , what was the width of sheets ? I am tired of looking door glass for my old honda civic 1994 , and thinking about make it from ACRYLIC Perspex Plastic Sheet . Is it will be all right temperary ?
@1973mazdarx4coupe The flexability of the pollycarbonate meant it could be clamped and wedged to the bodywork following the contors and curves. The more points you clamp the better the end result. For larger windows like the rear screen for example make a paper template and cut the pollycarbonate as before. Using some mdf make a cross section mold of the windows shape every ten centimeters or so and use a hair dryer to gently warm the pollycarbonate up and mold around the mold.
@1973mazdarx4coupe Rear screen I hope. Most scrutuneers won't allow pollycarbonate windscreens. The reason I suggest aking a mold was beacuse it could be done without exposing the car to the elements. Provided you're using a maximum 3mm thick sheet there's no reason why it wouldn't do into the original window rubbers or flex round if it needs to be stuck down.
yay e36!
