hello please answer my question! i am young but i have hooded eyelids...hooded completely down to overlapping the lash (fat eyelids, you could say, haha). i have downturned eyes which makes it even more unattractive...can this be done on young people who dont necessarily need a lot of old skin hanging? or is it strictly for this type of eyelid in the video
Im due to have this done post Thyroid Eye Disease on upper and lower lids-after having had bi-oorbital decompression Im a little scared. How long will it take to recover?
one week of marked bruising, second week of swelling. Faster improvement then and good enough for post op photos at 6 weeks. Continues to improve for 6 months.
hi there. so it is quite normal to have this done while still awake? my tutor said she got hers done awake..and i wondered if she went to a cheap surgeon lol
Quite normal. The 3 anaesthetic choices are essentially local anaesthetic alone, LA with sedation, or general anaesthetic. The surgeon charges the same price for all 3. The anaesthetist charges for sedation and general, and some hospitals charge more for sedation or general. Local anaesthetic is therefore the least expensive option.
In theory you could have a post op prolapse of fat through a septal defect. In practice this doesn't seem to occur so I have not found it necessary to sew the septum.
And yes it is painless. The only part the patient feels is the needle pinch at the beginning of the procedure when the surgeon injects the numbing medication into the eyelids.
@Iharaluv21... I'm sure some surgeons do this while the patient is completely asleep under anesthesia, but I think most do this under local anesthesia. At least where I work they do. I am a surgical assistant and do many of these each week. The patient is awake, but given medicine to make them woozy and they most likely forget the procedure. The dr numbs the upper lid with a needle prior to the surgery and the pt is awake the whole time!
19 would normally be far too young to benefit from a standard blepharoplasty. If you felt that your eyelid was unusual in some way you could seek advice from an oculoplastic surgeon.
For upper lids most patients are happy with local alone as the surgery is essentially done with the eyes closed so the bright light and instruments are less of an issue.
GA or sedation are optional according to patient health and preference.
hi, i'm interested in the lower surgery (eye Bag removal) is this done in the same way with local anaesthetic? would that be the same price? also where are you in the uk?
Great job dr., but it would b nice to see the final result not only this incredible and professional process, I must to say that in some countries like Thailand where I live in, very famous for the high level on medicine and surgery -remember many people come here from outside to invert sex operations- for less than that price you can get a nice holidays also?
It depends on the anaesthetic choice and hospital choice. I currently offer this in the UK from £1995 all inclusive if done at Tetbury hospital with local anaesthetic. You can expect to pay much more in the big cities!
I'm not a doctor, but this was simple, effective and well explained.

This can be done on younger people but would be done differently to remove less tissue and preserve upper lid volume.
All my contact details are at cosmeticeyesurgery.co.uk
Happy to see you to give you personal advice.

a sample of good surgery. But you didn't sew the septum after trimming the fat pad. could you sew the septum to avoid the bulging? tnx.

And yes it is painless. The only thing the patient feels is the needle pricks from the numbing injection given by the surgeon prior to the procedure.

Unfortunately I can't provide an accurate answer without seeing you.
For all such queries the best advice is to see your local oculoplastic surgeon.
Best wishes

Co-existing glaucoma is not a contraindication - so yes!

dont u need the muscle to blink?

Yes - and enough skin. The marking and surgery need to be precise to avoid any excess tissue removal.
