when i do the drilling i get the unlock sucess but when i put it in vender mode it still show locked? can you help please. my drive still ejects and spins so its not dead yet its on life support . . . . . . ------------------------------­----

@intensify906 how did you create the CFW? In the other videos you crated it with the lizard tool and you show it but in this one, do you have it in te sd card?

These are a pain to do i have done 40 of them and screwed up 3. If your not dead on the spot to burn the drive will be shot and cost over 60.00 for another drive mobo. Take your time when doing it burn and twist iron keeping straight and remove every few secs to blow out what you burned

hmm, I think I killed my drive while trying. got 0x8c, clicked on in when in vendor mode, started with the soldering iron on the chip. I just kept getting dots for like 12 minutes, so I stopped and send outro to the drive. from that point, no drive can be detected anymore, it doesn't power up nothing. Does anyone have a solution for me?

Ok, i just did my first this way and it worked. I wouldnt recommend the epoxy removal its pretty hard to do, i used a magnifying glas and lowering the ruler one pin at a time the easiest to find the right spot... Size tip used 1 mm but that is still quite large. Worked perfectly! Thanks

@trinch17 no u want to restore OFW (original firmware of the drive) then update then unlock again.

@trinch17 if u do update of an already flashed firmware ex: lt+ 1.9 there are chances that u will get banned from live so better restore original firmware (u must have OFW from when u did the flash) restore that then update and u must be good to go

don't forget to save your key before drilling... if anything goes wrong you can always get a replacement board..!

Worth noting that this is a GAS soldering iron. Electric soldering irons are likely to have an earthed (grounded) tip, which could behave differently (ground will connect through mains supply to PC case, to PC ground, effectively giving you a soldering iron connected to the zero volt rail. If using a soldering iron, use a gas one.
