@FlamingMonkeyInc ok to update the biod just go to ur manufacturur's site and search for your model or check some other guides :)

and cleaning the fans depends on your laptop - mostly you gonna take out the keyboard and clean the fans . but for the fans i got a hp service centre to do it for free becoz the warranty period wasnt over :)

im not that techy as well but i came to know all this from computer forums because when a computer heats u lose a considerable amount of performance.

@FlamingMonkeyInc i had the same problem with the dv6 which had these specs:

amd turion x2 @ 2.2ghz

ati hd 4650

Ram 4gb

The laptop was runing at 70-80 degrees C which is like HOT! then i updated the bios and cleaned the fan inside and now well it runs at 50-60 dgress when playing gta 4 and crysis on med/high settings!!

centrino or centrino 2 is itself not a processer it is sort of like a platform in which the wifi and certain other components including the processer(core 2 duo) are built on. It based increasing battery effeciency. so, if you want longer battery life get a centrino if you dont want battery life get a laptop with only the core 2 duo, In summary cedntrino is not a processer

hey ive got a HP DV5 with the NVIDIA GeForce 9200m gs and it is a very good card for gaming i run cod4 and farcry2 and prototype and even ARMA 2 it is a very good laptop and suggest it for gaming ! :)

I think 512 is the Ideal amount of graphics memory for any laptop/desktop.

256 will struggle alot.. And NEVER go for 128 LOL

Saying that it sucks is a bit over-exaggerated actually. With the 9200m GS on my laptop I can still play most games with acceptable graphics and quite decent frame rates. I can play most of the current games on it without much problem.
