Iplayer used to be pants on the wii when it just used the portal page via the opera broswer. You would get low quality, low frame rate streams which were only just watchable. Since though the actual Iplayer channel was released the improvements are no perfect and more inline with watching it on a pc.
(I don't use still cause of having V+ in the same room)
There is a new channel for the wii coming out exclusive to Iplayer, for UK wii owners only, so there is no longer any need to go onto the internet channel to use the Iplayer.
Thats exactly what happened. As BBC is a non-fee organisation they refuse to put it on xbox live gold because of the subscription fee. An easy solution would be to just put it on xbox silver.
Yup heard on the news that 360 wanted iplayer for Gold membership only, BBC wont budge on allowing a charge for their service (something I actually like about BBC 'thought the day would never happen').
Its ridiculous that Microsoft would rather ditch something, than allow free usage of a service.
i love the bbc iplayer on my wii,its never lagged or anything like that, and it means i defiantly dont miss anything, because half the time i cannot get to my PC
Excellent idea, but has a dedicated channel been made available for this yet. I'd personally like to just click on a button that sends me straight to iPlayer or 4od and just select programmes that way rather than type in a URL.
Is there no full screen mode?

They should bring out a browser for 360, but knowing them they would charge for it.

I agree. But somehow Microsoft made its billions on ridiculous business practices. "Cutting off the nose to spite the face" springs to mind.

the wii is supposed to get its own BBC iplayer channel this year which would be more useful than going to the internet channel.

NorthenMonkey92 3 years ago
No full-screen option?! That's utterly insane.
elCroux 3 years ago
It's in beta, so there probably will eventually be a full-screen option, if the dedicated channel doesn't come out first :p
