  • Jasmine is sooo cute<3

  • i'm so jealous ! i want a baby lemur soo bad !

  • shes so small and so cute im a boy and not gay

  • Could you do a care video

  • i think its just a bad idea to have those animals as a pet ..they need so much space and nature;in addition they live in goups

  • I hope that this is one of at least 3 ring-tailed lemurs in your care and that they have sufficient space to free range, otherwise you will have a very aggressive, nimble problem on your hands in 1-2 years...

  • how much was it

  • omg tooo cute are they expensive to care for?

  • @majesstik6 yes, housing and providing proper care and social learning for lemurs is incredibly expensive. I study lemur ecology and have husbandry experience with multiple lemur species. ring-tailed lemurs are quite adorable, but are best left in existing social groups.

  • @itsMinuteMade

We did not evolve from lemurs, but rather share a common ancestor dating roughly 63 million years ago. Lemurs are strepsirhines a name referring to prosimians that diverge from tarsiers. We however are haplorhines, as are our more closely related cousins, chimpanzees and great apes.

  • @cannibalcarrot666 tarsiers are more closely related to anthropoids than prosimians...

  • they should be left where they belong..in the jungle

  • Adorable. Where did you get the lemur?

  • Maurice is a diffrent kind of lemur. The aye-aye.

  • what happened to Mort?Maurice?

  • she's gonna become one fat american lemur

  • i love it whered u get it and how much?

  • She is so precious and beautiful. I do wish, for her sake, that she had a lemur friend, but since she doesn't, I hope that she gets tons and tons of constant human companionship.

  • Are these legal in the UK?

  • Did you get your pet lemur from Janice at CastleberrySafari in Texas?

  • @gorilla2marketer Castleberry's is the place that I am going to get one later. You have to buy them in your own state, that is the law. They sell their's for $1,800.

  • Adorable.. I hope to have one someday!<3

  • :) that is too cute. I can see a lot of people have thier views on whether these guys are supposed to be pets or not, as for me, i remain nutral. I work on a farm with one of my veterinarians. We take in rescued lemurs and other animals as well, from zoos, or even homes. The way i see it, if you can take care of them and do research as you have, then i support you. :) give her a pet for me! She is too cute :D

  • I can see why she's your pride and joy. She's sooo cute!

  • Aww, the little noises she makes are adorable :3

  • I think I just O.D.'d on cuteness!

  • @LadyAnura No Im telling you if you don't like MY VIDEO then stay the hell off of it and your bullshit comments. And this, "You need to learn how to hear criticism" omg go crawl in a hole. You need to learn to just mind your own damn business & leave people alone. Unless you like for me to use that freedom of speech shit on you by harassing you everyday on your videos and emails. So again if you don't like my video, stay the hell off of it.

  • Check out my other videos of Oscar and Tarzan, they are my other lemurs.

  • I love lemurs and i want one so bad. i know like almost everything there is to know about them <3

  • @Kayteeh441 Hey, it's awesome to see another lemur fan! You say you know it all, though, eh...? Quiz time! How many species are there? ;)

  • I'm sure you take great care of your lemurs =)

  • As a person who works in a zoo with ring-tailed lemurs, I have to say I'm very sorry that you're keeping this as a pet. We have a couple lemurs that came to us after being pets and they are in very poor condition and did not get a proper diet while at their homes.

I do not advice anyone who watches this video to go out and buy a lemur. They are wild animals and do not belong in the homes of people.

  • @dancingsara2102 Well as a person who has 3 lemurs as pets, I would advise u to mind ur own damn business. My lemurs are N excellent health & "perfect" condition & not on poor diets. I have the proper facilities to care for them & have them as pets. I also did an extensive amount of research on lemurs & how they act as pets before I bought my first lemur. So don't u come here accusing me that I don't take care of my lemurs & I don't know sh** about them. I know a lot more than u think I do.

  • @dancingsara2102 I agree with you. Lemurs need a natural diet of fruit, leaves, and small vertebrae, not dog food.

  • @viva9626 Lemurs don't eat small vertebrates. They only eat plant matter, unless they are starved, and feeding them meat can actually kill them in a manner similar to mad cow disease.

However, I agree- dog food is a HORRIBLE choice for lemurs, as it contains absolutely NOTHING that a lemur should ever be eating.

Ignorance runs so rampant in regards to lemur care... It's a heartbreaking thing to see with such incredible and unique animals.

  • @Lemurness For a person that claims to know so much about lemurs, do you own one? Because if you did, you would know that what my little lemur is eating in this video is NOT dog food. It's primate food that you get from Purina called Mazuri. So stop accusing me of having my animals on "poor diets". That's not all she eats anyways. Your just judging me on the one and current thing my lemur is eating on a video!

  • @Lemurness

So let me get this straight. Meat contains a prion that causes a disease in lemurs similar to BSD, yet being so closely related to us, we somehow do not get the disease from eating the same meat, yet we can somehow still get the disease from cows?

Yeah, right. Do you have some sources to back this up, because it sounds like you are talking out of your sophomoric ass. Their is more then one way to take care of an animal, so stop acting like yours is the best.

  • @viva9626 First of all the little lemur is NOT eat dog food, idiot, shes eating primate food and thats called Mazuri that you get from Purina dealers. So stop accusing me of putting my animals on poor diets before you get chewed out even more.

  • @dancingsara2102 do these animals a favor and take them out of the enviroment were killing bring it home and take good care of it make sure they dont go extinct

  • @dancingsara2102

I always tell people to volunteer at a wildlife rehab center that has the animal they want. If they can survive a year handling an animal that probably has behavioral problems because of poor handling (and a major reason why exotics are given up in the first place), and they still want the animal, then they have earned the right to do so in my book.

Anybody unwilling to spend that kind of time getting experience is unworthy of such an undertaking, but those that succeed are.

  • @FlowCell Very well said hun. ;)

  • @JillDunagan2007

    Thanks.

  • @dancingsara2102

1st, thumb down for being a preachy and judgmental idiot. Why not be productive instead of lecturing people you don't know all the god damn day. Fuck you.

2nd, I advise all people to get at least one year of experience at a local wildlife rehab or refuge center that has the animal they want. If they can survive an animal likely to have behavioral problems, they've earned the right to have that animal as long as they have the space, facilities and food budget.

  • @FlowCell Right on FlowCell, get after those preachy idiots lmao. Get 'em!

  • @JillDunagan2007

    You're welcome!

If there is one thing I can't stand, its an idiot who thinks they know everything about animal care and is arrogant that they know what is "best" when they aren't even a biologist or a professional zoo keeper with access to the latest and best information.

I swear, people get a religious like fanaticism when it comes to animals and their personal superstitions about animals. Fuck those who say "wild animals should stay wild." According to who? Idiots.

  • CHECK OUT MY OTHER LEMUR VIDEO CALLED "Oscar the one armed Lemur"

  • I'm curious: How exactly did you get her? I mean, did you actually get her in the States locally, or was it a big hassle finding a place to get one, or what?

Granted, I don't actually plan on getting one anytime soon if at all, this is just me being curious and nosey more than anything. I imagine it wouldn't be any more difficult than, say, getting a pet monkey, and I'm not sure if them being Near Threatened would make it any more difficult (I wouldn't imagine it would).

  • @Grafsburg Yeah I got her in the States, but u can only get a lemur in the state u live in, not over state lines. I google searched for her. Having 1 lemur as a pet in the house is good, but if you get 2 or more in the house, then they become a big problem. If u get 2 lemurs as pets then they wont really bond w/ u as good as only 1 lemur would. If ur away alot, have a cat or dog around to keep it company. Dont get 2, theyll bond with each other more than they will w/ u.

  • its like scary and cute at the same tim XD

  • What a beautiful little creature, I'd love to have one fo them!

  • Check out my other videos of my other lemurs of Oscar and Tarzan.

  • Jasmin is an adult now and shes 2 years old. She does fine in the house and does fine outside, she never runs off. But every lemur is different. If you want and CAN get a lemur, I recommend that you have a lot of space in your home or make a large space for your lemur. Be sure to have a cat or dog that gets along with your lemur for when your not home that way she/he is not lonely. These animals will have a strong bond with you.

  • shes a cutie, but do you think its a good idea to keep her as a pet? It seems kind of wrong. She could get hit by a car or something.

  • @littleXmorbie How is it wrong to keep her as a pet? Tons of ppl have all kinds of exotic animals as pets. I have met lots of ppl that have lemurs as pets. I guess its wrong to keep a parrot as a pet since they stay in a cage ALL THE TIME. And how in the world is she going to get hit by a car? She doesn't stay outside loose! She stays in the house and if she wants to go outside there is a 20x20 kabana attached to the house for her to hangout in.

  • i love this person is talking about a lemur like its in danger in captivity...get hit by a car?

in the wild it could be eaten by natural predetors just as easily

  • @NyYankees1985 I know right, that person is so dumb.

  • what do you feed them and where do they go to the bathroom?

also how long do they live?

  • @littleXmorbie If you don't like this video, then I suggest you don't watch it and don't comment it. Ppl don't need your negativity, I sure don't. Don't leave negative comments on my video and I won't leave negative comments on your videos or to your email. Again if you don't like it, don't watch it. Simple.

  • They look like peanuts lol

    Jasmine is so cute =D

    xxx

  • D'aawwh it's soo cute. :)

  • Omg, my favorite animals are Ring tailed lemurs, cats and any kinds of penguins.

    Lemur babies are especially cute!

    Jasmine is soooooo adorable! :D

  • Do lemurs kept as pets act different comparing to wild ones? Where do you keep them when they grow bigger?

  • well my bro had a friend who owned one and it attacked him and tore up his knee...

  • Ring-tailed lemurs only grow to about 6lbs (2.7 kg) so I'd imagine it wouldn't be that much bigger as it gets older.

  • Cats and dogs were wild animals before they were domesticated.

  • She's so adorable!

I want to hug her! =D

  • jasmine is so cute

  • She's so adorable!!! She's like a mini King Julien :D

  • .............stupid.

  • She is beautiful.

Ive been thinking about getting a Ring Tailed Lemur.

I recently lost my Sugar Glider to Pneumonia, and I really need a new companion. :(

Do they bond well to humans?

  • why is it making guinea pig noises

  • i want one! your so lucky

  • she is so beautiful thank you for sharing

  • man i am sooooooooooo getting that instead of a chinchilla:)

  • No negative comments please or I will delete them.

  • wow....you have a lemur.

i have never been more jealous in my life haha

  • actually they are fortunatly no longer endangered

  • YES! that means i can get one, new jersey's only law against exotic pets is, they can't be endangered.

  • they are my favorite animals!

  • I'd love to have one, but they're alot of work. They have to wear diapers: apparently they can't be litterbox trained. I'm surprised they allow people to have them as pets - they are an endangered species. Is there a website for those who have them as pets?

  • Actually they're no trouble at all as pets, very easy to keep and handle. But that's in my opinion because I have raised one from a baby. She doesn't need to wear diapers because she has a certain area she likes to go to the bathroom at, so I lay a training pee pad down there for her. Just because these animals are endangered doesn't mean I pulled her out of Madagascar. She was captive born and bred here in Texas at an exotic ranch.

  • how much is 2 ring tailed lemur and can they ship them to canada

  • How old is little Jasmine?

  • Jasmine is pushing 5 months old now, she was born April 13, 2008.

  • Ring tailed lemurs are my favourite animals, I wish I could have one. SHE'S SOOO CUTE!

  • Well thank you for the information and will look into it more.

PS She's so CUTE keep uploading :-)

  • Can you habe them as pets in the UK

  • Hi Krycatisrim, I'm not really sure if you can or not in UK. Try and check with the City or GameWarden or WildLife Park, etc, in your area to see if you can or not. Here in Texas I had to ask our GameWarden if I could have a lemur and she told me yes. In most places you can have them as pets with no license or permit required. But unless you are breeding lemurs, then you would have to have a license or permit.

  • Thank you. Yeah you can have them as pets in certain areas. Just gotta call to find out, and you can only get one in the state you live in. For example, if you live in Texas you can only get one in Texas.

  • So, so cute. I didn't know you can have them as pets.
