Maybe because american government made so that usa diploma is favored in the world more than of those european countries from which many students come to study to usa? For me personally i believe that american learning system is worse than for example that which was in USSR.

Yes, but not in the same league as the British Royal Navy in technology, tactics and training. This showed it's worth in the battle of Trafalgar. @pennbzh Yes, because you are in a central location in the continent, and you had a lot of neighbours, a lot of competition, many interests behind. Portugal has Spain and the Atlantic. Once we won the spaniards and maintained independence, all we had was the ocean, which latter led to the empire. We had no interest in fighting nazis or austrians. ;)

There are many examples, learn about Jonh of Gant for instance, or when we closed our harbors to the germans when ww1started. Or when we gave them Tanger (moroco) and Bombaim (India) to help their fleet and foothold in Asia. We both helped one another

Napoleon only invaded the Italian peninsula and Corsica, Sicily and Sardinia were separate kingdoms. Napoleon invaded Spain before he invaded Russia, and the British didn't "took Spain back" the Spanish guerrillas were a major help in the peninsular war.

Yes, but not in the same league as the British Royal Navy in technology, tactics and training. This showed it's worth in the battle of Trafalgar. The British were outgunned and out manned by the combined forces of Spain and France. Yet it was a desisive British victory that halted Napoleons advance through Europe. Much in the same way as the British did in the Battle of Britain during ww2

@ahebrawi not really, for one, napoleon only declared war on britian, but britian got the austrians, russians, and prussians to ally with them and attack napoleon, and austria only did it for revenge from the earlier campaigns in Italy, and prussia and russia were kind of pushed into the war. Napoleon just went on the offensive when it came to austria russia and prussia. And he didnt massacre millions of one specific race because he thought they were ruining the world.

France and Germany are the only countries who have been masters of Europe in modern times. (french 1st empire and 3rd german reich) Certainly not for long time but this 2 nations did it, and i think it's was the hardest thing to do.
England was master of the seas but never master of the fields in europe in a large proportion, likes france and germany' s empires.
I don't talk about the english colonies all over the seas, it's not the same wars as european wars.

@bamsejag He lost a lot of his army in the winter and when crossing the Russian rivers.When he got to Moscow the Russians didn't exactly give up,that weakened the army greatly.And when the Russians burned down Moscow he had to go back to France because Napoleon liked to travel light,so he carried no food with him.People blame the Russian victory on the winter,but the truth was that Napoleon had a bad plan to invade Russia.And you are thinking about WW2.

France kicked Britain in the peninsula in 1808-1809 and the British retreated.
They started to attack only in 1812 because 95% of the French army was on the eastern front.
And don't speak about the so-called "war" of 1812, only little skirmishes against American milices.

A lot of mistakes.
"Britain take Spain and the others start to attack" -> In fact the others attacked from the east and NEXT Britain, Spain and Portugal started to attack (because 95% of the French army was on the eastern front.
Other big mistake: You put the invasion and Spain (1808) after the war of the 5th coalition (1809) and the invasion of Russia (1812).
And the part when Napoleon beats Prussia/Russia (4th coalition) must be separated from the part when Napoleon beats Austria (3rd coal)

You don't even mention Portugal even though without them the Iberian Peninsula would have belonged to France and the war could've been a very different war.
The same could be said for many other decisive moments but still, give Portugal some credit for not falling to them like their neighbour.

Napoleon's France gave universal laws that abolished feudalism and most of his campaigns were initiated by the coalition powers. Oh, and Napoleon emancipated the Jews from their Medieval ghettos, making them free citizens.
