  • I was also late at getting to lost. I'm all caught up now.

i totally agree with how addictive you say it is.

  • It's CRACK! TV CRACK!

So is the final season making your head explode yet? Because mine is about to have its own "incident." LOL

  • Season 6 is so crazy!!!!!! What is going on with Sawyer?!!!! Where is he? And Kate? Is she confused or one of them? I can't tell!! And how is the island under water if the plane never crashed?!

  • This is one show that requires a scoreboard, I swear.

  • Where Can I Watch The Show For Free?

  • According to your profile you live in the United States, so you shouldn't be blocked from sites like Hulu or Fancast. Last I looked, both of them had the first 4 seasons plus a handful of season 5 episodes available.

  • Oh Sweet Thanks,

I Was Not Aware Of Those Site's.

    Which Do You Prefer?

  • Fancast worked pretty well but would occasionally lag and the problem didn't appear to be my connection.. So when this final season gets going I'll probably watch them at Hulu instead.

Only one more month until it starts up again.

    *EXCITED!!!*

  • Alright,

Well I Have A Long Way To Go,

    I'm Gonna Start At 1!

Haha It's Gonna Take Awhile For Sure.

But I Might Possibly Go Buy The Dvd's.

  • Yeah I've just wrote him a message yesterday. How about you come to Appleton, WI this July? We met there with Gary last year, that was "the biggest YT gathering Appleton has ever seen" - there were 2 of us. LOL We kinda thought we might get more people this year and make it regular. I'm gonna be in Oshkosh (some 10 miles from Appleton) for about a week this year too.

  • YouTube is auto-stamping comments as "spam" left and right lately, but not letting me mark this as NOT spam.

    Argh!

I'll keep the July suggestion in mind. That would be cool! Will have to play it by ear since my main goal is currently to get full time employment.

  • Sure! If the Appleton event will ever occur, that'd be Sunday, July 26th. There'd be at least me and Gary and whoever else might make it.

  • Btw, when you'll watch the beginning of the first episode, season 3, you'll say "holy crap!". There's such a radical turn there to the whole picture.

  • I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I managed to catch up on the entire first five seasons within a couple weeks. LOL!

You're right about season 3; such radical turns there. Some fans apparently were complaining about some of the season 2 and season 3 stuff, but I was assured that by season 4 I'd be blown away even more.

    They were right.

    I LOVE THIS SHOW!

  • Yeah I've started a couple of weeks ago and on the season 3 already, so you're not alone! lol

gotta watch a few more episodes of the third season today.

  • If you haven't watched it already, I'm curious to know what you think of the Nikki & Paolo episode. So let me know after you've seen it.

  • Haven't seen it yet, I'll let you know!

  • You might want to check in with Gary on it too. He and a couple others told me to keep an eye out for it. Apparently there are dissenting opinions on the episode among fans.

  • Just watched the Nikki & Paolo episode, that's a pretty interesting episode. I was going "hey he knew that all along!" quite a few times, and it is a pretty interesting episode, changes you thinking about some things. Although what I'd like to see but I haven't, is some connection of either Nikki & Paolo to some other survivors like we've seen in some other episodes, but that's just my thing, I kinda started to like discovering things like that watching yet another episode.

  • total filler episode, no real major plot points in it, expose woulda been a cool show but!

  • Yeah, same here, just started to watch the whole thing starting from the first season a couple of weeks ago. Finished S3E3 yesterday. It is too addictive! And yeah, they make some episode endings so that you're spending the whole week anxiously waiting for the next episode. I haven't slept for a couple of nights, thinkin "okay this is the last one and then i'm going to sleep". Watching it to the end and going like "damn i don't wanna wait till tomorrow, i wanna know what happened next".

  • Jack is Jakob!!

  • Sawyer is maps!!

  • 1977 Sawyer = 2004 Locke's Dad Sawyer.

    o_O

  • i just started watching lost this year and i've really become addicted to it also...really great show.....

  • It's like crack, I tells ya!!!

Very few shows can mix so many different genres (drama, sci-fi, adventure, comedy) and get away with it.

  • there's a reason why they call it LOST.

  • I caught up on the entire series, including Wednesday night's episode, in the span of two weeks.

    I have no life.

  • I had the best of intentions of watching the first episode when it originally aired but I somehow missed it. I've not watched any since because I kinda hated to start in the middle of things. I'm sure I'll get around to catching it on reruns one of these days. And it really *is* totally cool to discover something after it's been on for a while and just pig out with marathon viewing sessions of it. I've done that with "The Office" recently.

  • I love the Office!

  • What is that swelling on your jaw. Hope you don't have an abscessed tooth.

  • I've missed the entire season. BUT i've got it on my DVR.

    Lost marathon coming soon.

  • Hey Curt- that addictive quality can be attributed to what Lost creator calls the "Mystery Box".

Google--> mystery box abrams ted lost

and you'll see him talking about it.

Glad you're one of us now, my fellow Lost buddy. It's one of the best shows EVER!

  • I'm trying to get into "Lost", my sister says it's the best show she's ever seen. What website are you watching it on? I need to start from the first episode and work my way forward so that it all makes sense. BTW, what did you think of the BSG finale?

  • oh noez...ha ha ha

  • another Lost addict here...

so glad you're into it too...

you always make me miss the beach...

    great ending to this video...

    love ya Curt...

  • I watched the first two seasons of LOST and somehow lost interest when season three started. I do need to catch up again as it would be a waste to write-off the time spent watching the first two seasons.

  • My close friend is addicted to that show and she's been trying to get me to watch it for a long time now. Gee, I can't imagine who you are talking about that loves Lost...hehehehe

  • OhI saw Ms Moore in a commercial the other night 1st time in ages.. she has aged well...

I uploaded a video in the spirit of LOST on my old channel and its still around on one of Mr E's some where in tuberland... I wanted to vid resp it to this but its not on my channel... *shrug*

  • and can not find it... oh well... Lost?

  • My Son bought the first 3 years on DVD and I liked it EXCEPT after 3 seasons it began to feel so soapy....

  • I watched it once it was lost on me

  • I LOVE Lost! It's big fun.

Love your vlogs from the beach. Hope you're doing good. It' always nice to see you.

  • Good thing she's still around - otherwise Valerie would be spinning in her grave.

I've downloaded Season 1-4 of LOST but have not watched it yet - will wait till the series is complete so I can feed the impending addiction it it's fullest without being left hanging. I'm a wuss - freely admit it.

  • I have yet to give in... but now I might have to watch one! Ahhhh!

  • I haven't been sucked in yet ;)

  • Yikes! You're one of them! Don't know WTF I'm commenting about...

  • Ok, I am currently an Other. I will have to check it out.

I remember Rhoda. I have 3 series of Starsky and Hutch, did I say that out loud?

    :)

    Gigi

  • One of us!! Ohh Noez!!!!

Hurley is my fave! I wanna do him!

Watching you on the beach started to freak me out! And you posted this on 4-23... NICE!!!!!!

  • LOL, Hurley does rock.

    :-D

Yeah, the upload date was no accident. And I like that it's been exactly 4 years up to 4/23/2009 that the first ever YouTube video was uploaded.

    THE NUMBERS, YIKES!!!

  • When I started watching this show I didn't have cable so I could only watch it online (this is pre moving) so I rented the first 2 seasons and watched them in a weekend!!! so needles to say I was hooked for life!

I have a huge crush on Sawyer!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said before... welcome to the cult....err.. club!

  • OMG, that's a LOT to take in during one weekend. Then again, in just a short amount of time I am now 33 minutes into episode 3-04 "Every Man For Himself."

I am NOT liking these "others" so far. YIKES!

Sawyer has grown on me, despite his shady nature.

    :-)

  • I've never watched any Lost. I know that there is a time machine, one of them is an alien, one has laser vision, and there's a giant robot woodchuck.

  • How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck didn't enter in the code to keep the hatch from imploding?

  • Is this similar to the Star Trek fan base?

  • No, although there will be a convention where we all dress as characters and talk like we're trapped on the island.

    8-)

  • Can I borrow Rhoda since you aren't watching?

I bought the School House Rock DVD a while back. Always remembered them between cartoons Sat. mornings.

    Debating whether to start watching.

  • Schoolhouse Rock was part of the soundtrack of my childhood. Good stuff!

Rhoda's feeling neglected here lately. Must be why she got married after only 8 episodes.

    ;-P

  • Curt has it hard keeping it straight? Nope i just don't see whats wrong with that.

I used to watch Lost when us in the uk got it on our telly without having to pay for sky! not seen it for ages.

  • I don't know where you left off, but I'd say it's totally worth catching back up on again if possible.

  • A LOST vlog on a beach, of course! Good gracious I am so addicted to this show. We are indeed looking at human psychology as well as mystery.

  • YES! Definitely!

The way season two was playing out I kept scratching my head wondering what the point of certain things was.

    Diving into season three now.

    W00T!

  • I got addicted to Lost when it started, but after 20 episodes I started to get angry with it. It seemed like it was mystery for the sake of mystery. I suspect the writers don't really know where they're going with it. But hey - each to their own!

  • I got fed up with Desperate Housewives for that reason. The show started to look like a hodgepodge of random moves early in S2, but Lost isn't showing those signs at this point. Based on what others are telling me, if I keep with it, it will just get better.

In fact, I just watched the season two finale (and am clicking over to ep #1 of season 3 right now) and it's just kicked into a higher gear.

  • Well, perhaps I left too early then.

And the modern world has brought with it few greater pleasures than being able to immediately follow the final dvd of a season with the first dvd of the next. Take that, Father Time!

  • lol one time we were out shooting and called our friend he was like ''uuuu ill be there in an hour" and when he didint come we called again and then he told us" oh! ha ha ha funny story! im kinda addicted to a show and cant stop watching" then we go to his house. come to find out hes watching LOST! darn.

  • I'm guessing you didn't pull him out of the house that day.

    :-)

  • nope we had to wait untill he finished his show. and then after that we sill had to drag him out!! well no not really but it was hard.

  • Lost is a great show, I watched the first two seasons, then with my new job it's a bit hard to watch regular tv, so I'll wait until I can get it all on DVD so I can watch it all the way through.

  • LOL, don't want to experience that much agony waiting from one week to the next, eh?

    Can't blame ya.

  • The most adictive show I've watched is the "West Wing" I've now watched Season 1- 7 five or six times all of the way through.

  • Mark Harmon isn't in that show, so I've never seen it and have no desire to either.

  • Mark Harmon told me that he'd do you if you watched every episode of Lost three times each.

  • I'm SO addicted to Lost! Welcome to the club... I'm also a fairly new fan because I watched all of the first few seasons online in October.

When you finally get all caught up it's going to be annoying for you to have to wait week to week for the new episodes because you've been spoiled haha

  • LOL, I can see that day coming very soon and it worries me a little. Apparently the final season won't begin again until January of next year - !!!!

  • Aaaaaaarghh.. ! :) But the sea was nice...

  • Ocean waves cure a lot for me.

And I like to share, I guess.

    :-)

  • Yes.. a beach walk tend to lift the mood, I find.. for lack of the real thing too close, I often do an imaginary one.. that works too!

    At least for me... :)

  • The power of imagination can be pretty intense and just what the doctor ordered at times.

    :-)

  • hehe i have yet to see the show, myself, but i'm tempted to start... I just spend too much time watching vids on youtube! lol ;)

  • YouTube is addictive in its own way, that's for sure!

    Thanks for the sub, btw.

    :-)

  • Carlton, I'll give you a bottle of Jack Daniels if you keep all visitors away while Lost is on.

    ;-P

  • mmm, okay.

  • The island...the island!! :P -- no wait - i'm confusing that with, de plane, de plane! :)

  • Mr. Rourke would have crapped himself if he ever landed on THIS island. LOL

  • Lets have SEX

  • Don't forget to bring the harness this time, ho!

  • nicely done, and worthy of adding an 'edited by' credit ;)

I watched a lot of the episodes back to back in order to catch upo and watch the current ones - definitely a better that way to watch and also helps the 'not so good' episodes seem 'not quite so bad' and you then skip straight on to the next!

  • Yes, good point. These slower paced episodes in season two are still excellent but if I had longer gaps in between them I might have been completely confused at certain points.

Maybe the island is just testing us with season two to see if we have what it takes to get to season three...??

    ;-)

  • So i guess i'm now officially an "Other"?

You do seem to have it bad Curt. Especially if you're watching Lost instead of Rhoda!

I know what you mean about the jealousy of other Lost fans though. I feel the same about people who are discovering certain bands, or pieces of music for the first time. Wouldn't it be great if we could all relive those magic moments? :)

  • LOL, someone joked with me about being an other because I hadn't watched and I didn't know what in blazes they were talking about. So silly.

Good point about living vicariously through people discovering things we know and love like that. Whenever someone tells me they got an ABBA hits CD and loved it I get that feeling.

  • I finally finished season 1 and on my way to season 2... I'm truly sorry i didn't continued to watch it years ago. It's SO GOOD!!!

  • OMG, you're such an addict!

    LULZ

  • I've never watched it. I've found that I tend to become obsessed with such things so it's better I stay away from them.

  • Marc, this show is crack and I think I've moved into a crack den.

  • i've actually never seen the show - but i'm afraid to watch it.. i'm one of those people that REALLY get in to things.. and i don't want it to suck me in!!

  • If you do decide to check it out, start from the very first episode.

And pack a lot of food and water just in case...!!

  • Ive not seen more than 5 min. of the show, too much hype! I may watch it once its all done, provided the ending isnt too crazy. Love Rhoda! Youtube has Fantasy Island episodes now:-)

  • Only 5 minutes? Oh man, that's not enough, LOL.

I know what you mean about shows getting overhyped and then by the time you sit down to watch, you're thinking, "umm.... okay?!"

This show was way overhyped for me before I finally watched and it still blew me away. That NEVER happens.

  • OK, I will watch it, but not until the series is over. I saw the frustration my roommate went through at the end of the last season!

  • LOL! I hear a few other people are waiting for that reason too.

    :-D

  • I watched the first series and never could really get into it.

  • Really? Wow, I'd be curious to know why. For some reason (can't remember why) I thought you were still following the show.

    *scratches head*

  • I watched the Series 1 DVD when it was released to see what all the fuss was about. Nothing in it made me want to watch Series 2. But then again, I don't watch much TV to begin with.

  • Have they found Robinson Crusoe yet? And is it true he has every weekend off 'cos he gets all his work done by Friday?

I don't know what I'm talking about. I only watched the first episode, and it looked like someone had cast a big net over the audience of Jerry Springer and dumped them on a beach. Then some bloke disappeared through the roof of the cockpit to a lot of snarling and growling. Some critics mentioned dinosaurs, and others a giant. Lost was kinda lost on me after that...

  • Plus the fact that I am notoriously BAD at keeping up with any TV series. I never keep track of what's on when, and don't really want to have to. If I ever do watch TV and catch something interesting, it's more by accident than design :-)

However, I'm pleased that you're enjoying it. I lack concentration. I look at something for so long, then wander off and go "Ooh look! Something sparkly!"...

  • LMMFAO @ the "Jerry Springer" comment! Oh good lawdy, that's very true. These characters' lives are so messed up, LOL!

I can relate to the difficulty paying attention, actually. Desperate Housewives lost me in its 3rd season mostly that way.

    Awesome comment, Rob!!!

  • lol :) oh Curt!!! like I said the other day...your still in season two.....you're not even to the exciting, riveting, OMG, JAW DROPPING parts yet. Just wait.......you'll see. Island Fever is the BEST!

    xoxoxo

  • I can totally see why people think season two is slow, but I'm still having jaw dropping moments. If season 3 contains even more, I may need smelling salts.

    xoxoxo

  • Now I'm curious...wonder if that's a good thing? Blessings, Grams

  • I had to force myself to take the day off from it yesterday, but even though that was a little painful, I still say it's a good thing overall.

  • You must really be into it- you didn't even mention that you're at "Knots Landing" beach. Anyway, Lost is good stuff, I've never missed an episode.

  • The beach location was no accident - a little nod to my other favorite as well.

I was hoping someone would notice.

    :-D

  • haha

  • :-)

  • All I will say is welcome, Welcome, WELCOME aboard! LOL!! ;)

  • LOL, Thanks! Happy to be here.

  • I finished that same process about a month ago and I wish I had taken it a little slower. I can't imagine what it's going to be like to wait for the next season.

While I was 'catching up' Mrs Jimmer would just peek into my office and remind me to eat and bathe.

OH! Coolest thing! You can buy the episodes on ITUNES and watch them on your ipod/phone! Great for long flights! Makes time fly!

  • You watched this show on an airplane?!

LMAO, okay you're braver than I am. I'd go nuts sitting on a plane watching this, especially the episodes in the beginning where there are so many flashbacks to the crash.

  • hahaha that was such a cool idea with the eye, and the titles, and the sound effects, and the typical flashback, AND a beach.

i'd say this is your show :D

    4 8 15 16 23 42

    woot woot!

  • Well I adored Six Feet Under and Lost shares a lot of similar elements with that show - something I picked up on somewhere around the 2nd or 3rd 'regular' episode - and so now I can't believe that I actually waited so long to check it out.

  • ohhh six feet under is one of my favorites too.

i once marathoned through all seasons on dvd in like a week or even less.. goddamnit i was emo after that haha but i LOVE it!

  • We're Lost, we don't watch the show .

Our daughter is an addict. Sunny started watching the videos last summer and got somewhat hooked but fell behind on them and gave up.

    Loved Rhoda!

  • I can see how falling behind would make it tough - in season two they continue to reveal little details about things that came up in season one, but they're throwing new stuff in as well that ALSO connects but you don't really see that it does at first.

BTW, the Rhoda set didn't go abandoned completely. I've watched the first two discs and am thrilled to have it.

  • Rhoda Morganstern is hot. Her sister is an idiot. I dont really watch any fiction anymore. I'm just too critical

  • 60 Minutes is sexier anyway.

    ;-)~

  • You've been sucked into the vortex, from which there is no escape!!

    Enjoy.

  • I was worried by the end of part two of the pilot episode because I knew there was no hope for me by then.

    :-)

  • You know, I too envy you the opportunity to watch without the hanging chads of off season. Since we're in the last season now, it's the perfect time to get into it and then watch Gary's vlogs about it. What fun! :)

  • I'd watch Gary's vlogs about it and chuckle throughout because the stories sounded so bizarre, but I really don't remember any of what he talked about. I really do feel like I'm experiencing this stuff w/o anything spoiled for me.

  • Yep, I'm envious too that you can experience Lost from the begging. Geez stick with it, it will blow your mind. In my house, all phones get unaswered and everything stops lest we miss a word. You'll love it

  • Too funny! So far the only time I've answered the phone while watching an episode is when I knew it was another fan of the show - it's easy to pause the Fancast player for long periods of time.

The term "must see TV" applies more to this than it ever did to half of what NBC slapped into their lineups back in the day.

  • Listening to you talk about the early episodes of Lost is like going back in time. haha!

  • HA! So this was this sorta like a flashback of sorts for you.

    :-)

  • Fellow addict here! ;) Agreed! Agreed! Agreed! Etc...

  • Hey, is there a handshake that goes with this? lol

  • I'm in Japan, and LOST is the only TV show I watch.

  • I hope that's not because it's the only one Japan offers. LOL

    ;-)

  • Perfect! A beach Vlog in LOST design! I love the eye gag!

Btw, I just made the same experience you make. I started with LOST about 5 weeks ago and watch the DVDs. I´m in the middle of Season 3 right now.

    Ralf

  • Awesome. Well don't tell me what happens in season three, no matter how many times I might ask!

  • I haven't joined the lost cult yet, but I did chuckle a little when I saw the title was #lost Hash tags have entered Youtube!

  • I think there was something in my hashtag when I smoked it, cuz I woke up and found that I'd given all my worldly possessions to this crazy cult.

    ;-)

  • You make me wish I still lived close to the beach!

Lost... I watched it for a long time but soon got so frustrated with never actually finding out what the hell was going on in the woods that I just gave up. Stupid bloody show. lol

    Anyway.. kisses. :)

  • I think I'm roughly at the point where you must have given up because they keep dropping hint after hint and then serving up another set of clues for other things. If I had to wait from one week to the next for this, I'd go bonkers!

    :-)

  • Holy crap...that was quick!

I really think the show is completely unique. It gives you so much to think about, look forward to, and look back on. I love the recap episodes too, because I always learn something new the second time around.

I can see why people would resist getting into the show if they missed the first season. I don't think that this is a show you could ever just jump into. But if you watch the pilot......you will be forever hooked!

  • Watching the twitter comments fly past me, I figured out that if I was going to give this a test run, it would HAVE to be the very first episode. It's been easier than I thought it would be to forget the spoilers I've heard you folks talk about because at the time it all just sounded cartoonish, the character names had no context for me, and so I just forgot everything that was said.

  • Screw LOST, you need to watch Voltron on Hulu.

*NOTE: disgard this comment as the author is extremely intoxicated at the time of this posting

  • Drunk commenting, FTW!!!

  • Lost does rule my friend! Just wait till you get into the 3rd and 4th seasons :D

  • HA! That's what people keep telling me.

If by comparison the first two seasons are "tame" as someone said, then I'm going to be crapping my drawers by the time I get to S3 and beyond I guess.

    *puts diapers on shopping list*

  • The twists keep coming, the plot goes all over and the people you hate just get worse and worse :) Did I mention that there is more to come? :D

  • *writes "industrial size" next to "diapers" on shopping list*

  • haha love the intro closeup, AND the use of the #hashtag in the title!

I was really into LOST for the first two seasons, but all the characters were so secretive about things that seemed like they needn't be secrets and it bothered me and I grew distant from the show :(

  • MAJOR trust issues all over that island, yep! Sometimes I chuckle at some of that too, but I figure it's kinda like the whispering in the jungle - it doesn't make total sense yet but at some point it's all bound to be clearer.

  • I was a relatively late comer as well, completely hooked now. It's just too bad that you missed the Lost Experience, all though you can read all about it online, there something to be said about going through with it and making those discoveries for yourself.

  • I've had to avoid spoilers but so far it hasn't been too bad. I took a quick look at the Lostpedia site and the Sawyer nickname generator gave me a chuckle - but I'm not looking any further than that because I don't wanna risk ruining anything.

Hopefully I can be current as of this season's finale.

    We'll see.

  • mikma was here

  • MIKMA IN 2012!

  • The show is addicting and fascinating. I just started watching it this year, should have started when the pilot came out. The show with the symbolism is mind blowing! Good stuff!

  • I love when shows are ripe with symbolism like this - and it's so far never been so blatant and gratuitous in a way that makes you groan and clutch your stomach. That alone is an accomplishment.

  • I love when shows are like that too! It never gets boring or lame. This so rare that a tv show comes out like this.

  • LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! OMG. I love how you started it with the eyeball and then had your very own flashback! It being on a beach was great too with the sound effects! Awesome.

And the fact that I first met you and you were waiting for Rhoda on DVD and now you're watching that and MY Lost...well, it feels like our storylines have crossed over! LOL

  • If you think about it, some of the gathering uploads wind up looking like alternate POV flashbacks... !!

Seriously, steering me toward this show is one of the coolest things you've done for me. Glad I was able to return the favor w/ MTM. BTW, let me know when you get to the episode where Rhoda tells Mary she saw the smoke monster and later meets Locke's mother in the mental hospital.

Murray hits on Ted in that episode!

    LULZ

  • Did I mention the Sawyer/Kate/Jack/Sawyer triangle? I think Sawyer and Jack get together in season 6 yo!

  • :-P

You're drinking more rock star soda instead of sleeping, aren't you? LOL

  • I'm fragile.

  • *tempted to call mARIA over here now*

  • Actually her back story is introduced in season 3. It involves her going to a gathering in Toronto and getting proposed to by a Ginger with the numbers 18 14 in his name. Their stories cross over later that season.

  • I hear she introduced her back hand in Toronto too.

    LULZ

  • The story changes on whose perspective it's told from. Luckily we each get a flashback episode for the smokemonster to decide! LOL

  • I just hope they don't give the smokemonster his own spin-off! But when they do, I hope we all get to cross over for the wedding episode.

  • Faustian , I love that!!!!!!!!

  • I have yet to get anyone to agree with me on that one, but I'm still convinced that's what the writers were basing that on.

...wouldn't place monetary bets, but still...

    ONE OF US!

  • ONE OF US!

  • I finally got into lost lately and spent 2 weeks watching season 1 up till now lol. It's a cool show and now I'm not so Lost when Gary post his vlogs about it.

  • WOWZERS!!! Okay, that's an even faster pace than I'm going.

Hopefully you didn't forsake sleeping and eating.
