@Linester25 how is state gonna be good next year bad recruiting class this year lost there entire linebacking core ,pernell mcphee,d cordnator,and the offense has always been bad and i thought dan mullen was an offensive coach
@TheXxbrutexx He is a very good offensive coach. They averaged 30 points per game this year...i'm not going to look it up, but the last time State did that was probably before WWII, lol... We lost our linebackers, and that is a BIG blow...but Chris White was pretty much a no name before this year, who's to say someone can't step up and play on his level this year? We've got several good linebackers that have been waiting to play that got A LOT of reps last year. Same thing for the D line.
@TheXxbrutexx As far as recruiting goes look back 2 years ago and 3 years ago, we've had these same types of signing classes....those signing classes produced a 9 win season this year and a top 15 finish and NEARLY a BCS bowl. You've also got to look that a lot of these teams that get these great recruits, lose a lot and sometimes only keep half of them or less...of the 53 people Mullen has signed, 49 of them are still on the team...he keeps what he recruits and coaches them up.
@TheXxbrutexx As far as the D-coordinator comment....Chris Wilson, the co coordinator is as much a part of the defense as Manny Diaz was. I hate that we lost him, but oh well, Wilson's strategy is nearly identical to Diaz. I trust Mullen's judgement on that...Manny Diaz wouldn't have the premier d coordinator job in the country if Mullen didn't have an eye for talent and he obviously thinks Wilson is capable...just like he thought Diaz was capable when no one else did.
@TheXxbrutexx That comment about the offense always being bad and Mullen not being a good offensive coach is just rubbing me the wrong way.....do you realize that their offense improved overall by nearly 70 percent his first year there??? WITH A JOKE OF A QUARTERBACK!!!.....and an average of 4 turnovers a game....Their numbers were better this year even with the loss of Anthony Dixon. Give Mullen time and he will shut you up.

He's got a LONG way to go....several years til you really see what he can do..he may not be around that long, but I'm confident that he can keep them in bowls and possibly some very good bowls in the coming seasons. If you look at the history of Mississippi State football, and their never ending SEC doormat status,just to be contenders and going to bowls every year is a huge deal, lol.
