  • What a sad example of someone who has no feeling for literature, poetry, imagination or the daring potential of life.

Such a cold, restricting universe. How appropriate to own a fish tank.

  • Sin has never been the problem. Adams broken fellowship with God was the problem. Jesus solved that with perfect shed blood. Holiness is an anomaly. The Bible is CLEAR. Righteousness come through FAITH. Righteousness is NOT something you do. It is a condition bestowed on a believer because of who Jesus is and what Jesus did. On our BEST day we have NOTHING that can please God but our FAITH. Read The Shack. My apologies to all of the black women out there who are made in His likeness and image

  • Jesus warned at the end of the Beatitudes Matt 5:11 and in John 16:1, that there would be men who for "My sake" would "revile you and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you" and "cast you out of the synagogues" and "yes, the time is coming that whoever KILLS you will think he offers God a service". This poor man has eating the leaven of the pharisees. The Shack is a marvelous book that dismantles some of the years of misrepresentation of God by "Churchianity".. Cont.

  • Fiction gives you license to do whatever you like, that's why it's fiction!

  • A very wise minister oncle said, "Don't believe what your preachers tell you, don't believe what your teachers tell you...go home, open your bible and look it up for yourself. Don't rely on what others tell you. They will be giving you their opinion, that's it. Backup their words with God's word yourself. Satan knows the bible backwards and forwards and will try to use it to confuse us. Know God's word so you will be able to recognize Satan's lies.

  • Many people say....I know God.....but do they say?......I know Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, is it the True Christ? Because many others say," I know Jesus" like the J. Witnesses and Mormons and other cults. Check the Carm website and other Christian websites. Also, go to your pastor, check out other Christian churches and ask their pastors, questions about Jesus, The Holy Bible, and Christian books.

  • I cannot understand how anyone can sit back and criticize this wondeful book because it doesn't fit with scripture? This book brought me closer to God, but according to you, oh my, I need to now distance myself from God because my experience doesn't fit with scripture. I tell you, your recitation of page numbers and scriptures were so moving that I cried, I wept, your criticisms were so so moving, oh my God they were transformational. You should be ashamed! Your mind is small and repugnant.

  • @SOCkindredspirits .....But it is Thee point.....that man submit to the Word of God. Not to the wisdom of men. There is nothing wrong with supplementary reading material ( right now I'm reading..."Emotionally Healthy Spirituality" by Peter Scazzero) , but it is also important to go back to the Holy Bible and see if there is deviation and to watch out for them ....I did find some but overall the book is a helpful one ...and any book that is not the Bible is bound to have errors

  • Judge! Judge! Judge! Judge!

  • For you people frustrated at this review consider this;

How would you like to wright a little story describing you and your life? I will use an analogy or fictional character of you being an "A-Sexual Earthworm living under the ground and you keep coming up and eating the cow pie above your little earthworm house? Sorry to use that kind of fictional example but I hope you understand the point.

Distorting the Attributes, Nature and Characteristics of God in a fiction book is blasphemous.

  • Oh my goodness, this review is pathetic. Matt is just picking apart every little thing, all he is doing is just looking for something wrong to point out to make himself feel good! granted, it was kinda weird that God was an African American woman, but God is neither male nor female, and He has a Mother's as well as a Father's heart, where do you think God got the idea of mothers from????

The point of this book was to help people see God as loving and personal, and the author did a good job

  • @TheBrumby1 Well, he has a view good points

  • Don't wast your time on watching anything from this guy.

  • @Msbuster actually as he uses Scripture to backup his position, why wouldnt anyone wanting to know the truth and not have itching ears want to listen to CARM? Jesus himself said there would be many false teachers in the last days...this Shack guy sounds like just another one.

  • I agree with Love6581. Matt has a problem with the image of a black women. This is not the bible. He said it was fiction. I'm sure if god showed himself to you as a black or women you would no longer be a Christian.

  • This video takes issue with all the wrong things. I did not like the book very much either, but for very different reasons. This guy offers a good illustration of how a dogmatic evangelical responds to philosophical inquiry.

  • i think ur problem is that he portrayed God as a woman and a black woman at that. we are all of God and i feel that God has no color he is neither black nor white.

  • Never did I read the Shack to be thologically sound reading. You have to know the story behind Mr. Youngs upbringing to understand the shack fully. Abused terribly on the mission field by both his father and men of the tribe his family served. It makes sense that God would come to Mac as a women. We all have a shack inside us, it is just darker in some folks shack. Easy to paint the outside of ourselves. There is always someone out there to point out the flaws of others isn't there.

  • it is a real shame that some people call themself christian, but they feed themself on garbage that is fully from the pit of hell itself, they have no decernment to what is good for their soul.I feed myself on the holy word of god, which is the true testimony of god.

  • It really saddens me to see that so many comments, including 4 of mine have been either flagged as spam or removed entirely. I would have hoped that the 'Chapter and Versers' that hold Mr Slick's views, would have had the interlect and tenacity to be able to stand a little critical debate. Flagging comments as Spam is such 'cop-out'. Waving an intellectual white flag. Come on guys, you put this kind of crap on you yube, you ought to have the balls to back it up properly, if not kindly remove it.

  • The Book "The Shack" is the most wonderful book I have ever read. I believe you are greatly miss lead by the book.Where on the cover does it read The revised edition of the Bible?? The messages and the gifts that the book gives the reader helps people try to understand our own meaning of existence, thought provoking. The Bible is the Bible and The shack is a novel..The reality of it all is no one REALLY knows what happens when they die..Is the Bible correct??? HMMMM....Something to think about!

  • lessen Gods majesty???thats rich from you who denys his soverignty!...how dare you call universalism heresy, you who wont even allow open debate with universalists on your carm website, although you give all other denominations a fair cop, this does not line up with your belief system, if we were heretics and we were lost then shouldnt this give you more reason to give us open debate? you simply find our beliefs confounding and a threat to your livelihood....i pity you

  • Isn't it the case that Mr Slicks real motivation for ripping 'The Shack' to pieces, is to promote his own novel 'The Influence' in which a grieving father almost commits suicide but is rescued by an Angel and led through to acceptence by the same. Sound familiar? Well apart from the Angel bit, sounds like there might be a plagerism case to answer.

  • WOW! Oh mighty ONE. Sitting there on your throne, you are almost too bright for me to view. I am a Christian who happened to enjoy the book very much. If we could get the over educated religion out of the churches today, Attendance would sky rocket. To pick apart this book is absurd. I have used this book to win many people to Jesus. People who had been run off by people like yourself. And guess what? They do not pray to a large African American woman, they pray to God. They are not confused

  • lol this video is a joke, listen to the authors response to this kind of childish criticism.

  • GOD please saves us from your "Followers"!!!!!

  • Nice fish tank! The animals in it have about as much intellignece as you sir, if you believe in the Bible that is .

  • @alogaledo Tell others the TRUTH. Jesus is the only way to heaven. Why would a Christian have so little regard for those who are perishing? If someone has not placed his trust in Jesus, he isn't going to go to heaven and all the warm fuzzys in the world will not save his soul. Do you want your unsaved friends to burn in hell for eternity?

  • P.s God also manifests as a bearded white man in the book, don't see you moaning on about that ! What is it with you people anyway? When you should be embracing the notion that all roads lead to god, you deride people who have a slightly different viewpoint to you. The Bible cauld be as 'flawed' after all, it was written by human beings. To my mind the search for God is a crusade of the soul, and that goes way beyond the teachings of any book, even the bible.

  • @mojosabien All roads do not lead to God. Jesus is the only one who sacrificed his life, (He gave His life) and then provided more evidence that what he says is true by coming back to life on the 3rd day. The Bible is not flawed. If you search for the internal proofs their should be no doubt about that.

  • @Evangeline220 according to our religious text, there are other texts that are treated with just as much reverence as the bible by other creeds, reces and faiths. That was the point I was trying to make, As a Christian it is my place to argue for the relevance of the bible but that doesn't include be-littling other faiths. If the discussion falls to the point of insulting someone's deeply held beliefs, they i would consider that a failiure on my part.

  • @Evangeline220 Mr Slick seems to use all manner of belittling as the bedrock of his arguement, It's because of people like him, that Christianity has such a bad name globally. Listen to his interview with W.M Paul Young, reagrding 'the shack' and you will see what I mean. The strength of the bible is also it's main weakness in the hands of a man like this. Chapters and verses quoted out of context to make a point against a work of fiction, Mr Slick is a bigot and an idiot. And I stand apart!!!

  • @alogaledo Sir thats what the bible says. It speaks about a people that God has set apart before the creation of the world. Read romans 8:29. Now catholics are not Christians, they worship Mary, and they are not saved. But If you read Scripture true Christians will always be seen negatively by the world, thats how you know you are doing it right. No man will every "want" to be a Christian unless God calls them

  • @HeavenBound2323 There are some Catholics who are Christians.

  • I think the "god" of the Shack is the same "god" that Spock's brother was trying to find in that Star Trek movie.. you know.. the phony "god" that Kirk asked, "what does god need with a star ship?"

hell that phony "god" even changed his face to an old man with a beird and said, "does this better suit ...your... expectations?"

it shouldn't take a genius to realize how bloody manipulative this "god" is.

  • Lame.... God refers to himself as a chicken in scripture and yet there is no theological problem with that and he also spoke through a donkey. Which is a bigger stretch?

  • Here is a video that breaks down the Theology of The Shack:

    gci.org/yi/kruger69

This website also has 3 interviews with Paul Young regarding the book.

    gci.org/category/people/william-p-young

  • @alogaledo John 6:44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. Men will never choose God unless God chooses them first. Sinners wont just decide they are bad people one day and turn to God. Our flesh is evil, we will never choose God, atleast the God of the bible

  • we are all made in the image of god and you don't see that. okay the book refers to him as a black man middle eastern man and a Asian woman. God does appear to us in many ways not just scripture.

And you say that in Mathew 25 46 that all are not forgiven. okay thats what scripture says.

God loves all and he does forgive all. He forgive you before we even commit the sin we will commit. thats how much he loves us. And if you dont know yet God is love!!!

  • @Geeerard00 God is also Holy, and he does not tolerate sin. Not everyone is forgiven, otherwise Jesus would have never preached on hell but instead the bible says that only a few will find eternal life (Matt 7:22) God has never appeared in another human form besides Jesus Christ. Your not really worshipping the God of the bible which is the creator.

  • Comment removed

  • @Geeerard00 God does not forgive all. Only those who seek him and repent

  • i think people should read the whole bible.... not just little fragments.

  • @youwestube Amen

  • Pulling apart what other people are doing to build up the kingdom of God is pointless.

  • Looking at the comments below I'm amazed that people will defend this stupid book over the Word of God. Sad.

  • My very immature sister read this and defended it as bringing her closer to God. If you need to get closer to God read the The Scriptures. Good video brother.

  • raging at people to stay away from the shack: what is the point? if they dont want to believe the gospel they will find something else to divert them.

and why do people like slick and the rest of the apologists think that relatively sound doctrine is the same thiong as faith? The first is necessary for the second but is not identical to it

  • yet slick is a raging calvinist who thinks that God hates some people, totaly ignorant of Biblical hyperbole.

so what value is his rant> one heretic opposing another

oh yes, his site is given to catholic baiting

  • What is wrong with "feel good"...I mean you make God sound like He is anti-joy. The book is fiction...get over it, you must really hate CS Lewis or JRR Tolken.

Also the book is a novel...and if anyone gets their theology from a novel they will end up with novel theology

  • Ironically I suspect that it was the enlightenment and a focus on objective rational thought that paved the way for people like the fish tank dude to be completely oblivious to the concept of metaphor and - even more depressing - not even recognize it in their own religious texts!

  • I think what is becoming most telling is top hear the current belives of MR Young as in denying the atonement or the fact that the Father poured his wrath out on the son in our stead as it states in Isaiah. ( 59?) That to me is telling. The fact that he is doing these creepy Divine destiny like conferences at this Canadian Church of John of the cross. Catholic mysticsm is certainly something that MR Young finds himself attracted by if he is willing to join light to darkness. Heresy oozes out...

  • Mr.Slick (man who thinks he himself is all knowing), Young portrays God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as people like a fat African woman, a Middle Easterner, and an Asian so Mack could understand and feel that he could relate to them & speak to them normally. God has scars too to show Mack they are ONE and are not different people. Is the Shack a good book? YES!! The book has a wonderfully touching message and you clearly need to read it again without the arrogance.

  • @SwaggerHacked What Young wrote and claimed was a pictire of God does NOT match any picture or God afforded Him in the Bible. There is ONE text which God has given to reveal himself to us and that IS the Bible. Young has acknowledged and them denied this.

Matt Slick offers proof he has found, not ideas he invented. Young offers ideas he has invented based on wrong teachings ad un-biblical false theology. Do some research.

    Show some SMARTZ

  • @BadWolfMom Christians today are so biblically ignorant that they don't have anything to test lies against to know what the truth is and where it is not.

  • This guy's another knucklehead religious "expert". I've no doubt that he'd stand up and sing and smile with you on Sunday, then screw you in a business deal on Monday.

  • @jks728 Read what he has read and you can say the same of yourse3lf... except you will, at that time4, claim that you are offering facts that existed long before you decided to look for them,.

  • Sorry, but who is this guy to claim that a fiction book is wrong? If it's fiction therefore you can`t correct it, no matter what. I rather believe in the book than in your "perfect" view of god. Is The Shack a good book? Yeah, it is!! and you just CAN`T make me think otherwise, at least not with this arrogance showed in this video.

  • @Marcuslakers therein lies a problem. S'pose I wrote a book about you. And in the book I wrote a gender, race, and ideology and nature that was absolutely NOTHING like you, and then I published it, and wrote a story so enticing, that it rocketed to over bight success. Alright- IT'S FICTION... so what. I STILL said in my FICTION that it was YOU. fanciful, extrapolated.. you actually do exists... but the FACTS about who you are and what you are like are all twisted. IS IT STILL OK? or NOT

  • Dont forgive me momovideo, your not qualified. Matt Slick: What are you afraid of? Its a fiction Book. And Yes; It is a good book!!! My faith is such that I can reap the rewards of the great message of love and hope from the pages of "The Shack", and not be offended. I know the truth when I read it, You cannot see the forest through the trees. That is what organized Religion does!!! GAAAGH! it blinds you from recieving even the most simplest of messages such as the Ones found In "The Shack"

  • the Shack is a wonderful book.

anything that enforces love and acceptance and complete tolerance and understanding is absolutely wonderful.

Christians who are so hung up on two thousand year old words make me incredibly sad.

  • you are an idiot, but i forgive you

  • New American Standard Bible (©1995)

and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths

    2 timothy 4:4

  • so it said God cant be seen. cant God do what ever he wants? cant he have scars of appear as a woman??? its a great book with a wonderful message ... take it for what it is. a great book that helps people feel like god actually loves them. all the hell stone and brimfire and damnation talk will not work with todays youth. once there old enough to make there own choices they will rebel!!! teach Gods love.. not his fury

  • @AlecFromBakoMusic

Thats a terrible way to look at it. Teach what jesus taught. both love and judgment. You can't pick and choose your biblical doctrines in a calculated way to reach people. In acts the apostles warned of the coming day of judgment when they preached. Revelations clearly paints that dreadful day. Without knowledge of that, or hell...the gospel is a joke and makes no sense. Hell and judgment reveal the glory of the cross...what Jesus actually is saving us from.

  • @Aaron637 OK..... i agree with you!!!!! BUT where exactly in the shack does it say that there is NO JUDGEMENT? im fighting my own battles with the things im dealing with in my own life.. in my own experience it seems like people are loosing there faith.. like believers are on a steady decline. i think with tv and movies and everything people see everyday the bible keeps becoming less and less important to people im afraid soon it will be believed to be nothing but a silly ol wives tale .

  • @AlecFromBakoMusic I haven't read the shack bro. I'm not a fiction fan, and the story is probably harmless in and of itself if taken as pure fiction. But if it is drawn out and made a christian alegory it is dangerous...for said reasons in the video...especially since the author is a universalist....which is a heretical belief. I'm sure your not one, but books like this open doors for people weak/ignorant in the faith. But ur right...we are experiencing the great apostasy that was prophesied

  • @Aaron637

I do not understand how thinking intelligent people can say "This book is only fiction, and therefore harmless." This is about CHANGING A PERSONS WORLDVIEW regarding numerous Theological component, one of which is the nature of God, the roles of the trinity, the true purpose of the Cross, HOW God approaches us to impart wisdom, the manner of which God and man looks at holy scripture, the quasi- universalistic themes presently, and the goal or lack there of with the cross.

  • @john146only i haven't read the book. but i think if ican take the hobbit as fiction, or the chronicals of narnia....this too can be taken as fiction. it doesnt necessitate a change of world view....i mean ive read parts of the koran but im no muslim. ur not what u read....if you read critically.

  • @Aaron637 ...that said, i wouldn't waste my time on this book.

  • @Aaron637 Furthermore, people who are so taken by this book, are saying that it "changed the way I viewed and understand God/Trinity." That is a change is worldview. Would the apostle Paul have gone along with so many are saying about this book, or would he respond to the errors in it, which is what needs to take place?

Yes, for sure this is part of the fallihng away, a portion, but it all adds up to changing the truth into a lie in part of total, and many are falling away. Jesus is TRUTH...

  • @AlecFromBakoMusic

    PT2

.... saying that, changing the gospel message wont change the results. The bible foretells the great apostasy before Christs return and it'll get a whole lot worse...if God spoke it, it will happen....regardless of how we respond. I think just speaking the whole truth in a sincere caring, loving way is good. In the end, we can't force anyone to be a Christian....only those taught of God can and will come to him as Jesus replied to the Jews in the book of John. bless u

  • @AlecFromBakoMusic

There is a wonderful book by Terry Mattingly called

POP goes Religion. This book is a compilation of religion articles and pop culture written by a journalist for the span of some time. What is amazing in it, as I have it highlighted to death, is that the movies and tv shows and songs and mags of popular culture ( as I already stated) INFLUENCE the worldview or BELIEFS of the audience that makes up us! There are articles with George Lucas for one, who had an objective w SW

  • @AlecFromBakoMusic

The bible makes a case that we should teach the law, and the fact that we break it should push us to reach out to the Savior. Read Romans, 5 believe. People that are born again, the real deal have repented to have punishment put on Jesus' head, instead of their own. Do a word search, it actually says in numerous spots to fear the Lord. And it is his very love that went to the cross for us. People today don't even know or get what the bible says. What HAS GOD DONE/SAID?

  • I think people ought to read the parable of the 10 virgins again who are "waiting" for Jesus. Well 5 of them are anyhow. This is found in Mathew 25. Wonder who represents the other foolish virgins who are gettting a door closed in their faces. There are many a Christian with a superficial label who abhor true doctrine and are apostate; God sees through them. When people honor biblical falsehoods, what does that say about their faith??? People act like lies are just as good as truth....

  • @jocylean

What passes for "Christianity" today is pathetic.

  • @john146only -amen

  • @john146only

why because we won't say God is wrong and you are right?

  • @BadWolfMom The bible is the standard, not me, or you or the Shack.

  • @john146only hey sorry 'bout tha last... i was on the wrong page or post.

true Christianity is all over... but the country is booing forced into a "dont ask dont tell" in re to our FAITH!!

  • @BadWolfMom No, that is not true, because there will always be a remanant. Paul had a conversation I believe it was with God, or was reminded or a conversation between another prophet and God, Elijah I think it was. Elijah was upset and crying to God about the persecution and God said, I have 7000 ( I think was the number) and they have never bowed to Baal. Our freedoms are being taken away, our FAITH, if it is true, will never be taken away. All true believers will suffer persecution.

  • @BadWolfMom The gates of hell will not over take us, the church. There will always be those who are true blue born again, and they will never be raped of their faith. (Tares r not the church.)

1 Kings 19:18 "Yet I will leave 7,000 in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him Romans 11: 4New International Version (©1984)

And what was God's answer to him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal."

  • @john146only What do you mean by this? Has Christianity changed from its beginning, OR would you say that people have tried to turn it into what they wish?

  • @whodatdere The bible says the gates of hell will no ovecome the true, authentic, born again Bride of Christ church, who is called the Remnant, as Paul is recalling the same truth regarding true followers in the days of Elijah, in contrast to the fake sell outs. A long existing battle between truth/error. That battle existed all through out the bible, in Paul's day, after the death of the last apostle & into today as well. This book & this Emergent movement is another of the same thru deception.

  • @whodatdere Man has always tried to tamper w/ God's truth, but a core of God's own by his hand, have always stood by & defended the Truth against error. In today's world "pastors" and others are hard at work redefining globally Christ, the gospel and so on and are causing people to embrace error. This book is bringing in a new revelation of God, that goes beyond the mere book & has allowed the author to take a teaching position, and express from the pulpit a different worldview, gnostic/twisted

  • are you kidding?? You started off saying this book is fiction then warned there may be some untruths in it!!!!!! Ill call the publishing authorities!

  • god can choose to be and apear anyway he wants...... the book was great take it for what its worth....... do something better with your time......... how about you write a better book and sell millions of copies.....

  • @AlecFromBakoMusic

How about we just learn the bible and do what Jesus said which is to preach the gospel and make disciples of all nations with the correct and accurate biblical information.

  • @AlecFromBakoMusic

God has ALREADY stated in record ( the bible) how he has appeared, and even warns that an apostasy will come in the last days that will change the faith from with in, but then most people could care less as long as they are entertained.....

  • @AlecFromBakoMusic

PS. My husband says that you should out a big G when addressing the Creator...

  • thanks I got halfway through the book and started to question myself about this book and wanted to do some research, I have watched a few vidoes on "The Shack" but this one was very well done and uses biblical truths and not opinions.

  • Comment removed

  • The truth about the shack is that God limits himself so we can have a relationship. Jesus became a man thus limiting himself for the very thing so we can understand. many people find it difficult to understand God in spirit form as hes not tangible but in the flesh he is and still he gets ridiculed. One last point Gods ways are not our ways and thats what is portrayed so beautifully by the author. We cant understand the trinity but then again do we deserve too?

  • Matt Slick...I have read this book a number of times and you seem to forget that this is fictional with biblical truths in it. Sadly your mind is narrow and God is much bigger than your limited understanding.

  • @SuperSalsachick

It is pushing a worldview. Brian Heretic Mclaren does the same thing through every means including fiction ( and nonfiction). That is such a silly and lame excuse that has been put out there. People used the same defense for Harry Potter, never mind that it too taught a worldview of forbidden witchcraft to people, but especially targeting children. ( Never mind the clear teaching to abstain from such practices per THE Word.

PS,Jesus equated himself as the Narrow Way.

  • lol yea you are kinda dumb sir, its fiction, dont try to be a good christian by critisizing books.

  • @hiphopin328

Yeah, whatever you do, don't test the spirits. Don't evaluate whether this is of biblical truth or twisting it.Don't do that-

  • @xXlovelyemosXx

When he started changing the words and nature of God, it became the job of Christians to evaluate it based on the Bible, and to test all things and hold to that which is good. Where is your Christian back bone and loyalty to God to honor what he has set in stone?

  • First: What color is God's skin??

    Second: define "FICTION"

  • Although some of the "facts" may be off a bit, if someone reads this books and is internally healed enough that they can again turn to God and open up their heart, then didn't The Shack "serve" it's purpose?

  • @flemingla

Did it perpetuate falsehoods and twist Christianity by slipping in false hoods? Didn't Jesus say that he is the TRUTH? And what do truth and falsehood, light and darkness have to do with each other? Nothing. I know it is surprising, but Satan's main objective is to twist God's truth and this book does just that. People are secure with falsehood.

  • One thing most of these fantasy driven authors have in common is their use and promotion of highly imaginative ( blasphemous) so-called bibles like 'The Message"

  • This video misses all points. I wish this video host could meet Paul for himself and realize he is fighting a losing war here! He speaks as though he knows how God works in every humans life and understands how He reaches them.

  • nathaw11, Jesus has total victory over false teachers. Paul Young is the one who has lost the war against God. A person's personal life is not the standard by which we judge a man, we judge him according to his theology (his fruits). Young is a heretic and an ardent promoter of the New Age Emergent/Emerging church.

The god guiding Paul Young is the god of this world, not the Almighty God of the Bible whom Young openly rejects (2 Corinthians 4:4).

  • Man, I sure am glad God is our judge and not you. Do you love Paul Young as Christ commanded you too? Have you approached him in brotherly love to bring him back to reproach? Are you seeking the best for him in love and praying for him that Satan does not have his way? If not, where does the true problem sit? Have you written him an encouraging word todady to help him in his walk?

  • I judge ONLY Paul Young's theology and I do so ONLY by the Biblical standard. Yes, I love Paul Young and I pray for his soul. Many sound Christian apologists, theologians and pastors have interviewed, lovingly corrected and gently rebuked his false teachings. He ignores them completely. He has proven by his fruits that he is not a brother in Christ but a false convert, nathaw11. No, I haven't written to him but since you suggest it, I will and I'll let you know whether he responds or not.

  • OK, I believe you. I'm just trying to encourage us all to know that the love of God is where we live in Christ. If you have a problem with The Shack, that's fine as well. However, how do we know where Paul is in his dealings with God? How do we know where God is with him? That's why loving him and encouraging him in Christ is so important. Who wants to turn towards a finger pointing at them with no love saying "REPENT YOU SINNER"! Keep procaliming the gospel Utopiang!!

  • Test men's words with the Bible, nathaw11.

The love of God is given to those who are saved by the one true Christ. Counterfeits like Young's do not save.

We know where Paul Young stands with God by his outright rejection of God's OWN revelation about Himself. Many godly men have lovingly corrected and exhorted Paul Young, proclaiming the true Gospel to him with prayers, peace and love. Sadly, Young has made it clear again and again that he does not want anything to do with the Truth.

  • Apostle Paul had no trouble dealing with trouble makers: I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

    Galatians 5:12

  • Did I miss something or wan't this a book of fiction?

  • I recommend that you read the following article regarding Paul Young and his promotion of New Age spirituality:

  • Who cares what color He was anyway.

  • John146only, First of all, I am mixed so don't get any ideas. Jesus during the bible period could not have been white. Remember His family fled to Egypt for a season, therefore, he had to be brown, or darker to merge with the present culture. If He or His family was White, the Romans would have easily found them in the crowd...If I was being sought after I would not hide in Iowa, Montana, or Wyoming..I would hide in Miami, or Spanish Harlem..get my drift...

  • I said white to brown.

  • In this example, a nurturer. In this place of his pain the man didn't need to see God as the norm in his mind...God had to been in different way for him to siimply listen..Read the book, you will see what I am talking about.

  • why?

  • Jessica, I am amazed that when people wrote books and presented the image of Jesus or God being European rarely did you hear a complaints. Now that the image of God being African Amerian and a woman all hell breaks loose. The author wasn't saying God is a black woman, he was saying that God becomes what we need in our deepest pain..

  • Amazingly, when God and Jesus where deemed as being white no one really had any challenges with it. Now, that God is African American woman and the Holy Spirit is Asian,...Wow, now it's heresy...lol....I read the book and it changed my life.

  • i haven't read the book but plan to because of all this "stuff". I want to see for myself. But I must admit that critics attacking the fact that the author wrote God as an african American women really rubs me the wrong way. sexist and racist is what I am thinking.

  • Jesus was a Jew, white to light brown . The Father is Spirit and so is the Holy Spirit. YOu are missing something. Do you know the bible well enough to spot the errors?

  • YOu so aren't getting the point.

Are you aware of the Emerging Churech??

  • Read Ezekiel one and then try being so simplistically confident about who you think the Bible says God is.

  • Get ready for the movie.

  • @jpeck1000 I really hope there'll be one! ;D

  • William P. Young is a patripassionist and a universalist

  • He doesn't believe that the father poured his wrath out on the son, even though that is what the bible says. He doesn't care for the truth. But he is getting a big fat check for selling God out. Not a good idea. Read A "Wonderful" Deception that addresses the Fractals in the book. The writer is called Warren B Smith. Very good read!!!! Amazon carries the title for one... Ch 12 Fractals, Chaos Theory, Quantum Spirituality and The Shack. Ch 13 The Quantum Leap to a New Age/New Spirituality?

  • @john146only I wonder why he's selling so good.

  • @Zeikid New International Version (©1984)

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

    New Living Translation (©2007)

For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear

  • @hasani42

Very good, I had never heard that word before but I looked it up and the Shack is in favor of that :patripassionist
