  • most women who could wear the title of goddess dread the connotation and special attention but the word goddess's comes to mind here ..

  • young beautiful kids with great gifts offering the world music!!! fabulous music!

  • Anoushka is Hot.

  • What an amazing blessing to have all that culture in her blood

  • goosebumps bravo!!!!

  • Anoushka and Norah, keep bridging the gap of east to west, with your unlikely but blessed beautiful background, you are most gifted to do this :-) you are both splendidly beautiful too by the way...

  • 0:01

  • @witt9955: dnt make urself a dimwit.... plzz dnt make remarks without proper knowledge... Anoushkaz 'n Norahz parents r sure that they r sisterz... hw cud U b SO SURE THAN THEIR father??????

  • If you don't believe they are sisters, just watch Norah Jones interview with Katie Couric. Both girls are talented. peace

  • Beautiful video. Both halfsisters are splendid.

  • Facts are facts and yet some dimwits still say they are not sisters and also pass some stupid remarks. You can't get dumber than that.

  • aww my norah jones and her half sis. Norah still rocks a lil more TEXAS girl.

  • Sisters Of Melody....that's all you gotta say....

  • Poem: The silence extends the trees behind amber-colored evening glow, empty pantomime fields, sweet magnetic stripe glowing tongues epopts in the ephemeral stardust, unlike the same smiles Sexus behind new flesh force, the phallus will change, but a surprise in the champagne glass, the same place the Criticism, such as potting soil cement, the whims of stubborn years, the hair is cut between the welded Pass.

  • Beautiful

    Regards

    Chakki Bank

  • How serene and beautiful , #Bestofbothworlds :D

  • Breathtaking for 105%

  • Indian classical , should be as it is

  • What a gift of life and continued beauty Ravi Shankar gives with his own music and that of his daughters, not to mention the countless other great muscians who studied and collaborated with him (Yehudi Menuhin, Don Ellis, Phillip Glass, David Murphy, to name a few). What a gift!

  • Mesmerising

  • these two should make an album together

  • @justinhpark Agreed. And asap as far as i'm concerned.

  • Do they have the same Mother ? Anyone .

  • @phillyguy672 Same father, both daughters of Ravi Shankar (:

  • @TarrynWilliamsMusic But different Mothers? The look alike !

  • @phillyguy672 They must get it from Ravi. I guess it's just hard to tell now because he's so old.

  • @TarrynWilliamsMusic Ok , thanks ! Good luck with your music carreer !! Dorset , England, where exactly is that ? Are you close to London ? Its my dream to come to London , im a big Beatles fan, and want to go to Abby Road, and other Beatles sites !

  • @phillyguy672 Oh, thanks very much! (: Yeah, I really need to get some videos on here to help boost it a little.

Dorset's on the South Coast of England, about two hours from London on the train. It's a beautiful city, if you get the chance you really shouldn't hesitate to go. Ah, I love the Beatles :D

  • @phillyguy672 same father

  • They are beautiful both :)

  • outstanding

  • lovely...... I have no more words to describe the beauty of this music...

  • sorry bitch

  • hi holly

  • I'll bet'cha one of Ravi's genes looks just like a musical note!!

  • @paizley11 Nice and funny comment..;)

  • @paizley11 Not just one of them. All of them!

  • @paizley11 Or maybe his spermatozoids.

  • Ravi shankar and his sperm are amazing! :D

  • @keepthechangewoman THUMBS UPPPP

  • wonderfull

    breathing under water

    breathtaking,

    "love"ly music.

  • Amaziiing!!! Amaziiiiiiiiiiing!!!!

  • This is amazing.

  • Ravi really knows how to create beauty, if you know what i mean..;)

  • @fremmed1 Oh I KNOW what you mean....!

  • beauitiful song

  • Amaziiing.. amaziiiing..

  • Absolutely wonderful, great combination ...

  • Who says one cannot have both beauty and talent. I would say these two sisters have both, plus they would have wealth and love too. Love earned for what they have given to the listeners, magic of music!

    Well I also try :--)

  • very pretty and talented sisters. I feel lucky that I caught Nora on a PBS show and looked her up and found her sister as well

  • these are two of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.

Old Ravi had Anoushka at 61 years old.,

  • I take a deep breath everytime I hear this piece begin. How often do you hear something pure? I hope they work together again. Anou's fella played a big part on this CD. And that Sting addition...well....if you don't own this CD already....it's you're loss.

  • Actually Norah Jones is her real name. She was born Geetali Norah Jones-Shankar, but officially dropped Shankar later. She barely knew her estranged father who left her at only 4. She has been all her life in Texas, raised by single mother Sue Jones. Now that she is famous everyone hints at her father's name but actually he has nothing to do with her career.

Nevertheless it seems that thanks to Anoushka her relationship with her Dad improved these times.

  • I loved your Father.. and I have every CD you have ever produced!!! that is to you Norah.. Jones.. is that a husband name or a stage name??

  • @noiui norah and jones are her two middle names, not her real first and last names, so you could say it's a stage name in a way.

  • Sisters are doin' it for themselves! Amazing !!!!

  • Daddy sure makes beautiful children. Inside and outside

  • Norah is the best!

  • Peas in a pod ! great collaboration.

  • sublime

  • magical...

  • damn! Beautiful! :)

  • stunning combination of cultures.

  • two sisters divided by continents, joined by music. it is beautiful to see.

  • @seismiq hahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Anoushka doesnt exist, Norah is the best, the queen, the most beautiful woman in the milky way

  • @principerojiblanco Esa e una expresión muy argentina, ¿no?

  • @principerojiblanco

shut up dude. learn to love the music.

  • omg, who compared her with diana krall, ahhahhhahahhahahaha, omg, i didn,t know that a human being can be that much stupid to compare them, my god , nothing is impossible in this world, even people stupid like scottlawson exist

  • Norah Jones is Ravi Shankar's daughter? Bugger me I never knew

  • Norah is part of a musical dynasty, and she is easily the most famous and well known artist in her family. It is good to hear this song with her half sister Anoushka. Mad though ain't it. Norah is completely different to the sound and style of her relatives. She is fated to be either the greatest female singer/songwriter of all time, or the greatest female singer/songwriter of all time, to not be fully appreciated by the world. It is her choice and if she can handle the impending fame.

  • @Requiemslove .. first of her dad is ten time more famous the norah..... i wouldnt call the greatest female singer/ song writter....... she dosent hold a candle to the likes of diana krall.....! but norah is good !!!

  • @Scottclawson Who knew of Ravi before the media carped on about it? Ill tell you, many less then know who Ravi is today. Fame is a dumb word to use in this case as neither father or daughter care for it. Evident by the infrequent interviews, low public appearances, shying away from big events like film ceremonies etc. As for your belief that Diana Krall is better, it is my belief that your belief sucks and is wrong. No offence.

  • @Requiemslove well hve u frgt the betels era ,or u wr nt born thn or evn anything abt the 80's well cse of betels ravi shanr gt his hi-rise in the gllob media ..... fame is by chance wat u get , u can be exeptinaly talented but not famous .. but someone be not so but really famous .. look at the top 20 chartof tday is there any song which u really like , which u think ull be able to keep it alive in u , but still those ppl r famous.. fame is an illusion its dr nd then its gone...

  • @aveekthegiant I mean no disrespect, but please type so i can understand you. You are right though, about the difference between fame and talent. It can not be denied both father and daughter, though worlds apart where music is concerned, both have a wealth of talent. As for who is more famous...well that depends on your POV, and is it all that big a deal anyhow?

  • This is the first time that I have heard the sisters performing together. Thanks for sharing it. So gifted and talented and beautiful both of them are....

  • subhanallah, great fusion , love it, thanks for sharing

  • I'll be playing this on Continental drift - 10radio.org - Friday Aug. 27, 5:30 to 7 pm in the UK and 9:30 to 11 am in California and BC. T see playlist go to wendelinn.

  • Beautiful.

  • Nossa! Que perfeição! Sinto-me feliz só em ouvir tão bela canção!

  • Everything is great this music is so beautiful take you to another world, and thanks

  • simply beautiful

  • GORGEOUS! Thank you sincerely for posting this healing music, Sisters! More love!

  • Amazing...2 of my favs....Anoushka and Norah Jones....

  • oh this is sad song

  • sad song

  • I believe Hindu & American culture (of course, minus the negatives) is the perfect ultimate socio-cultural-spiritual mix that can be there in world.

  • Siblings' revelry

  • Beautiful...

  • Anoushka Shankar & Norah Jones are half sisters and have brought with them the best of what they have in this music. I think they set an example as to how we as human are supposed to live. Listen to our seniors, land, heritage, live in the modern world and best apply what we know to the now from what our ancestors have left us so that all we do is pass on harmony and integration.

  • I wonder what would happen if they were chefs, interior designers, authors, educators, traders, bankers, economists, politicians... well, this is where you and I come in :) Right? Learn from their music.

  • damn this is a really good tune

  • subtile mélange de deux genre de musique pour les soeurs shankar

  • Were I to imagine the abode where the Angels lay their heads,I am sure,I am sure, I would hear the tender sounds of the sitar being gently played along side the glowing faces of two beauties as these eager to greet with, a warm embrace, and a soft whisper into my ear asking "What took you so long?"

  • I love all of you !!!

  • wah kay bat hi

  • hhaahaha

  • i love it.

  • shes indian.. and shes native indian

  • @BOWENSblog Despite her father is Ravi Shankar and her half-sister is Anoushka, she is not native Indian. She was born in Broklin...

  • very nice, i love the mood of this piece

  • when genes are good....

  • Lindo som das irmãs....

    abençoado som

  • beauty ...in all senses, both...it makes us ...

  • what a gorgeous sound, mix east meets west ,it works so well

  • Too bad the words "Evaluation Copy" is plastered right smack in the middle of the screen throughout - sometimes over the faces. It could have been placed in a lower corner where it wouldn't take away from the video. Beautiful pictures, otherwise.

  • Beautiful sisters !!

    I love that music

  • nora jones is soo beautiful !!!

  • a treasure of old and modern!uplifting1

  • wow

  • There's a Malay proverb that goes "where else would the gravy fall if not on the rice?". This brilliant tune, folks, is proof of that.

  • I saw Ravi Shankar play about 20yrs ago...this is pretty his 2 gorgeous daughters play together....with thanks

  • I guess the melody-minded fruit of Ravi Shankar doesn't fall far from the tree. Such beautiful music these two have made, and it's good to have a bit of Ravi's soul-progeny spreading their connection to Universal Creativity around the world.

  • o my god... it is brilliant... mystical... I am crying!

  • Hey Shiradesaah, I'm an old white guy and I dance in my living room with the lights out and this music playing over and over and over.

  • @twobluehorses love

  • @twobluehorses hahahaha cool. Mad, but cooool.

  • nice

  • I was mesmerized by the two "sisters" playing together on a cusion of sitar music.

  • they are sisters ,there father is Ravi Shankar

  • they kinda look alike...

  • @0nman

    Could they be sisters?

    Hmmmmmmm...........

  • Half sisters

  • Norah's name was Geethali Norah Jones Shankar, but she shortened it to just Norah Jones and 16.

  • true! they are sisters!

Ravi Shankar must be very proud!

    His girls are incredibly talented!

    THIS IS PERFECTION!

  • they are half sisters lol

  • We hear a lot of failed attempts at style-mixing-HOWEVER, to me this is PERFECTION... Anoushka's meends are perfect compliments to Nora's vocal bends...Ravi must be a proud Dad indeed.... we need MORE- Bless you for posting this NECTAR.

  • iataliano: 2 mondi e 2 stili di musica hanno generato 1 capolavoro :)

english: 2 worlds and 2 styles of music have generated 1 masterpiece :)

  • Absolutely true.... a masterpiece created by fusing two arts :)

  • great music.

  • at what? the sooner you realize that there is no such thing the sooner we can all start getting along.

  • Makes one cry... really beautiful!

  • There both really talanted and good looking.

  • Truly a blessed lineage!

  • ravi shankar had a sun subho. he died. all three of them are step sister/brother to each other. how nice. when I told this to a girl I know she said "where is ravi shankar?" isn't it amazing. if religion, caste, race and other divisions are so important why don't we inherit them in our genes? just a thought.

  • that this relationship tells us a beautiful story about humans are being humans. we are just humans aren't we. what color are we, what language we speak, no matter all that. we can blend together. everybody is equally important. it was planned that way. only humans have screwed it up. an elephant can never have a sibling from a giraffe. but human genes can travel. isn't it beautiful? isn't life amazing...

  • I have also wondered what sort of a relationship could there be between these two step sisters and there father. someone said they don't meet each other.glad to see them performing together. I am really amazed by this story of ravi shankar the great indian maestro having a daugher who has excelled as a musician in the another part of the world. isn't that amazing. or is it just simple biology. I am sure a doctor would say so. anyway I still think this relationship is amazing. I also think...

  • They are half sisters and Ravi Shankar lives in Southern California and has spent the majority of his time in America for all of Norah Jones' life.

  • I always wondered if the Shankar Sisters had a relationship. Whatever the circumstances, It's so beautiful to see them here together. I hope they do more Music... What a treat!

I love you, Norah... Your Music is simply nourishment for my Spirit.

  • Hi all,,,

Can anyone tell me the name of the song please????

    Thank you.

  • It says it at the top - EASY.

  • Oh - I thought it was "Evaluation Copy" ;-)

  • I would like to have a sister!!!!!!!

  • Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The story of these two girls is SO amazing. Both so absolutely enlightening with their talents. Each in their own beautiful way.

  • man u can honestely all of a suddden hear how noras voice sound very indian in this song especially

  • would be great if the collaborated more ............!!!

  • imagine a week end with the Shankar family, Norah singing Anoushka and Ravi playing WOOOW

  • Actually both are half sister, Anoushka and Norah!

  • Wow....I just stumbled across this, and I thank the stars that I did. Norah's one of my favourite singers, and to hear her pair up with such a beautiful, talented artist like Anoushka.....Ravi Shankar, here are your two greatest masterpieces.

  • Both sisters are quite beautiful indeed. I just love Norahs voice

  • True ... Ravi Shankar was a womaniser. He had these two daughters at 59 and 61 ... Just imagine!
