@Geniusidekick This is not true. People are nearly never convicted of such crimes purely on victim's testimony without some kind of corroborating evidence. However, the simple accusation CAN get a person tarred and feathered in the court of public opinion.

If a child claims to have been raped or molested, the child is removed from whatever environment he/she is in and an investigation begins. Sometimes it leads to convictions. It all depends how strong the case is. Imagine if it were otherwise, people would be giving false statements against people they dislike.
