What the fuck did the people think they were doing? They were obviously trying to surrender, he didnt have a weapon, he dropped it, and they werent even germans. Fucking scumbags. Thank god all American soldiers arent like that.
@calapanpo But the point is, its inhumane to kill a human that wants to continue living, they didn't want to die, it's not their fault they speak different language, but im pretty sure they said they killed no one, they were czech forced into the war. As previously stated. I wouldn't have killed them, it's cruel and sick.
you lose sensitivity after a while, once you've cried out all your tears, the rage starts building, the lust for revenge. They acted on impulse, THINKING they were Nazis. Sure it's cruel and sick, but it's easy to insult someone you don't understand.
And of course you wouldn't have, you're not a soldier. Remember the radar/machine gun nest scene? They did the "humane" thing to do, and ended up indirectly causing even more death.
@rustleinthebush How do you know they killed no one? Because they said they didn't? That means nothing. Look at Steamboat Willie. "Fuck Hitler, fuck Hitler!" They believed him, let him go, and looked what happened. You can't trust the enemy soldier on what they say. Sure, it may have very well been true that they hadn't killed anyone, but the American soldiers had no clue about what they were saying. You cannot blame them. They saw enemy in Wehrmacht uniforms.
Those soldiers are freaking stupid, man. They put down their guns and surrendered. In war, it's clear that killing isn't always murder (Usually, obviously, a soldier killing another soldier is just war). But that was just murder. Not funny at all.
@jackhartcup He was showing him his hands. As in look at my hands ! i washed for supper! but what they were actually saying was "Im czech i didnt kill anyone" but they didnt understand so they just shot him
@davidkrod - that type of thinking is what lead to civilian massacres in My Lai. International laws may not be perfect, but sometimes there is a damn good reason for why they are written in the first place. Being a soldier is a tough job, but it doesn't excuse one from doing stuff they wouldn't dare to do as a civilian.
"Im a pussy with no balls and was so skerred that I donned the enemies uniform and invaded peaceful nations while taking up arms against those that risked their lives to restore peace. Please, double tap me in the chest with your impressive American rifles, so that I may at least die like a true warrior, as it will be the closest that I will ever come to achieving manhood."
@powertrippin1 Don't forget, the czechs were pretty much an unwilling sacrifice that the frenchmen and brits presented to Hitler before the war (the Sudety region, etc).
People like these two were screwed over and abandoned to the Nazis long before fighting Germany was even a possibilty.
@bohica31812 It matters not... who were they fighting for? yup. Wrong choice... and yes, they had a choice. I would have rather eaten a bullet than do that pencil-dicked fuckstick with a funny moustache's dirty work. Pistol to my head? THEN PULL THE TRIGGER, MOTHERFUCKER!!!
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees.
Fuck that.
Maybe... someday... you Euro's will figure that shit out.
@powertrippin1 - We 'Euros' could extend that same logic towards your country and ask how US armed forces fight for a country which has started more wars abroad than anyone else since WW2 ended.
The answer? Most of your soldiers are good people. They follow orders because they place their trust in their leaders. Good and evil exists on either side of a war. It's very easy to say you'd do something in a given situation if you're sitting comfy elsewhere, not so easy if it's right in front of you.
They're not Nazis you dipshit. How stupid are you? They're speaking French, which either means they are Vichy French soldiers or Czech conscripts. Neither wanted to be there and both had German pistols behind their heads.
No, I think the Rules of War are more important then revenge. For all you know those men were just drafted. Not all Nazis were bad, some were forced to do it.
your right, but what your saying is some upham stuff, the fact is they were pinned allday on the beach watching friends(brothers)being cut down, being so mad,i dont think theres anything they could have said to save there lives infact they should have said nothing, wrong place wrong time.
yeah but tehres always a chance soldiers might end up getitn bossed about by b ad government, I know bad governemnt is a serious understatement, by procedurs must be followed, wt if u were an allie surrending?
It was war crime, but how are you going to keep track of an enemy during a battle. For all you know when you least expect it, he will pick up a weapon from one of your soldiers and start shooting. I don't believe they had handcuffs or prisons either.
I felt really bad when they killed them. But when he said "look i washed for supper"
I couldn't help but smile a bit.

How horrible that was cold blooded murder. They tried to surrender and they were unarmed. The line the soldier said though was funny.

@rustleinthebush You're missing the point of the scene,
The idea of killing an innocent person is disgusting, but was it really the Americans' fault?
Are they evil for not understanding Czech? For not distinguishing two nationalities in the same uniform?
Even if they dropped their weapons, the Americans were under the impression that these were the people who were killing their friends.
