The voice acting is still pretty good. That's Kevin Michael Richardson doing the narration (he's also Hunk in the show), and Tim Curry was (as always) wonderfully hammy as Lothor. Otherwise, yeah, this isn't very good.

Well, just because you can do something in CGI doesn't mean you SHOULD do something in CGI! Obviously this was aimed at the wee ones back then who had no idea who or what Voltron is. I'm still looking for the GO Lion DVD myself!

I was a die hard Voltron fan. After seeing Transformers getting a super high-budget hollywood rebirth i was hoping Voltron would be soon to follow. But THIS crap is probably whats gonna keep that from happening. It sucks terribly :(

OMG, Voltron was my favorite 80's cartoon but this CGI version really sucks! The narration didn't make any sense and he sounded bored. Definitely an amateur voice over.

This wasn't cool at all I was psyched when it came but then I saw it. It was lame, repetive and rather dumb in more ways then one I eventually gave up watching due to its lame acting and repeated scenes and unnecessary scenes. On a whole I would say CG killed voltorn period. The 80' was better but this could of been even better.

@trek9090 what do you think of the new Voltron on Nicktoons? I like that one best because of the 5 different transformations. The new cadets are cool too. I never understood why Lotor looks the same as he does in the 80s and does not transfer from the 90s. He was a cyborg in the 90s. How is the change explained? Too bad Zarkon and Hagar are dead in the Nicktoons one. But I think I like not having Zarkon in it because Lotor seems more evil woithout his father. Miss Hagar though.

@trek9090 One question I have about the 80s version is why did Kieth, Lance and Sven not wear corspronding color uniforms with their lions. Kieth wore red in the 80s but iloted black. Sven wore black and piloted blue. Lance wore blue but piloted red. What was up with that? At least they wear corsponding colors now. Also Sven shows up in one episode.

Meh. This show was ok, but so much of it sucked. The CGI was poorly done. Voltron looked all bloated and not really like a robot at all. Some of the original voice actors came back (Michael Bell, B.J. Ward, and Neil Ross), which was good, but the entire plot/storyline was just weak. It didn't really fit into any part of the Voltron Universe.

V3D was just poor rendition of a classic series.

American adaptations of anime suck ass! The first bad one was The New Adventures of Speed Racer, and the second one was this. Now the Gatchaman 2008 CGI movie by Imagi seems promising, but if they fuck it up, that's strike 3 and that's it. No more American adaptations of anime because nobody can get em right.
