Tama is literally my favorite character in this game. I'm not entirely sure why; maybe because he reminds me of myself! A few screws loose, a pyro [basically], and all around crazy.

If I remember correctly "Tamaya!" Is a saying that those back they always shouted at the sound of a firework going off at festivals. and therefore fits the theme, explains why why he is a fireworks engineer, and why he has exploding fireworks in his theme.Just thought I should say.

@zxscd Well, let's be honest; if you look at the game cynically it's basically Legend of Zelda with a wolf (though Twilight Princess would borrow the formula of Okami later). My mom is a huge fan of RPGs and Zelda but found this game hard to get into because the narrative was long and the art wasn't enough to keep her interest. My guess would be that they knew they were making a game that would likely not be favored by many so they didn't want to waste money in making lots of copies.

@VincentValentine1313 Thats not really a reason. What Okami lacked was something as simple as marketing, and a little bit of fanservice. Think carefully.Whats the REAL difference between CoD, Halo, and Gears of War? None.They are just shooters with "different color scheme". Why they sell and are still copies nowadays? Marketing(i.e. Especial editions, Legendary Editions, Awesome editions, commercials etc.). Okami is indeed a very unusual game...but for good.The only it lacked was marketing :(

@zxscd They re-released Okami for the Wii not too long ago. And Ami is a playable character in Marvel vs. Capcom. Capcom knows what they have and they know that the game is popular. I suppose it's a mystery why they haven't pushed it more. But in some ways, I'm glad they haven't. Just look at the games you mentioned amongst others; how sick are you about hearing about them? Of hearing about FF VII? They know they have a true art piece and pushing it would spoil it for the fans.

@VincentValentine1313 Well, you see, I'm not at all sick of hearing of them. What really annoys me is the fact that they think they are THE best games. FF VII, is a good RPG and now, is a classic. But saying that Gears of War is better than Okami, Zelda, Mario or FF VII itself....Is a sin. Why? Because its crap disguised as gold. And Okami is gold invicible to many people. But if you can merge the disguise of those games, with the real gold that Okami is, you create a new legend in videogames.

it was my early birthday and i got a good report card so it went to game stop i check out wii games and there it was bright blue and red on the cover of the last copy

Yes, that is indeed true. On top of that I´ve never heard anyone who has played the PS2 version say that they don´t like Okami. Some with the wii version complain about the controls...

...But I still think that the posibillity is there for a sequel to be made. It´s very small though. The only reason to why I want a sequel is cause I´ve played through the game 3 times now (I´m on my fourth go)

and I´d really much like a new world for Amaterasu. I know all secrets too well now =(

the ps2 version is the best one imo. even tho the wii does seem suited to the "drawing" aspect its a little difficult to get used to. and i hope they make a sequel i have finished the game 3 times as well xD. altho my knowledge for the secrets isnt that great D:. still even tho clover studios closed down, it was just a side division of capcom, so im really hoping the make another okami D:

Hehe ^^ Yes, but when I think of it, Clover didn´t have the rights for Okami, Capcom had. So if Capcom wont allow it, Platinium cannot make another Okami. And when I see this through a producers eyes, why would they want to? It didn´t sell, so they´ll probably loose money in making a sequel.

I´m not trying to be negative, these facts scares me too. The chance is so small.. But what the heck.

If there´s something Okami has thought me, it is that miracles DO happen, you just need faith ;)
