I am Venezuelan, I am not rich, I grow up next to the slums and went to public schools.
Believed Chavez administration i she worst we ever have it. The Highest Inflation of the continent, Food Short-Supply, Caracas became the murder Capital of the World (we got more people getting kill than Iraq and Afghanistan combine ), Top Ten Most Corrupted country, chronic electricity crisis, we are poorer than ever before, Media Control
Many of you never been in Venezuela, don't believed on his Propaganda
Hugo Chávez makes sense and everything he say is based in facts and truth. He has right to feel passionate about this. I just hope he is always supported by the Venezuelan people and the world population at large. From the way i see it he is a national hero not necessarily a communist or a socialist. He is just straggling to bring justice for his country and people. Why should a continent as rich as South America and Africa be deprived from itsown wealth? It doesn’t make sense!! Good luck!
Esto es lo que tiene que pasar en Mexico, una limpia total de todo , ojala algun dia yo pueda ver en esta vida un presidente como hugo chavez en Mexico
49% of the population were belo the poverty line and 21% were in extreme poverty that has now changed to 27% and 7.7% respectively. since chavez took office, thats a fact. If thats not an achievment then I dont know what is.
@apacheslim if those numbers are accurate, i'd agree 100%, and they may very well be. none of us really knows, though. i've always liked chavez. however, i do feel like venezuela is a confusing subject with lots of misinfo and propaghanda to consider...
Heres the thing, he the first president to do something about poverty. But the GFC hit them hard because they're an oil exporter. Violence is high due to a whole generation of venezuelans that grew up before chavez's policies came into effect and are now beyond saving. But he is criticised by other socialists aswell. Watch a BBC interview with him its very very good. Its called "hard talk".
@stopYOURdumshyt Chavez has recently set in motion a housing project, which strives to build 2 million homes for the homeless and for people without adequate housing. His completion target is 2017, I wonder if he can achieve this target.
