A prayer for the smallness of our life to the greatness of the universal. Great musical interpreters and singer. Thanks to Alassane Ndiaye for introducing this to me.
Shaykh Ahmadu Bamba wrote this beautiful poem-prayer when his blessed mother fell ill seeking her healing, by the leave of Allah his mother was healed. It is used to this day by those praying for the recovery of their sick ones.
Beautiful - nice to have translated, Yaa Allah bil-Mustafa, as, O God my helper through Mustafa:) li-Llah, to God, to God, to God! Amen! we have an event in london, we would like to invite you to play...?
Music for the heart and soul! Not only words from a great peacemaker, Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba, but beautifully sung with a pure heart and voice! Mashaa'Allah! Beyond words...! How can we contact Modou? Are you guys available to play at a world music concert in Edinburgh this coming May?
I hope so too! This music is all about Peace and really puts the heart at Peace! So it really fits into the context of this world music concert for peace!
It is one of those music that touches the soul deeply... words of a peacemaker, Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba, beautifully sung with such a pure voice - we can only praise God!

Sufism (Arabic: تصوّف) taṣawwuf,(Persian: صوفی گری) also spelled as tasavvuf and tasavvof according to the Persian pronunciation, is generally understood to be the inner, mystical dimension of Islam.[1][2][3] A practitioner of this tradition is generally known as a ṣūfī (صُوفِيّ), though some adherents of the tradition reserve this term only for those practitioners who have attained the goals of the Sufi tradition. I cannot expess how glad I am that I found this truly breathtaking music and lyrics/the instuments - the whole. I couldn't stop listening to it over and over because the feeling it evoked within me would suddenly abrupt every time I would hear it. Truly amazing.
Aho, it is. A wonderful pilgrimage. I walked that same trail over thirty years ago, and I remembered it here! One can't forget of course, such a place. I love his playing music at the summit, the sun setting. Such sacredness.
Beautiful work and music. But Oh "Sufi" live in the present, be born fresh with each breath... there is no Abraham... Sufism was before there was Islam and before there was Sufism... find your original breath, and be born new. Killing has been the fruit of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.
@gripol hi,this was writting by a great saint from senegal in the year of 1820,if im not wrong. His name was sheik Ahmadou Bamba. He was the founder of the town of touba in senegal. He was a peacemaker in his time fighting against the oppression of the french army .GOD knows best

i agree with the subtext. I only have a problem when others start to define for me who "God" is. This kind usually define God inclusive of their own unconscious weaknesses. As long as I am left to my own vision of the one God, I say, let us be brothers and fight no longer!
People like you seem to be the reason why people like Mansur Al Halladsh have been killed. If this has nothing to do with Islam I am gonna burn my Prayingcarpet
this man is from Senegal. He is a disciple of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba ( great sufi Master) who prays on water during his exile to Gabon. The French kept him for 8 yrs in exile in the jungle of Gabon away from his country and people. He wrote approximately 7 tons of books. He founded a Holy City of Touba in Senegal where he is a library in which all books are written by him. Incredible.
Warkha , Modou is senegalese right, but he not a disciple of Cheikhe Ahmadou Bamba. He belongs to another community called "Layene". They are disciple of the Cheikh Limamou Lahi and their holy city in in Yoff (near Dakar). Their name Lahi (Or Laye) is a sign of belonging to Allah and all the members of the community have taken the name. They do all their praises with a typical african drums call "tabala". They are using sufi music for long time...
you might be right that he is a layenne. But, the poem he is singing is written by Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba (R.A) and it is called Sindidi. Also, the muridiya ( tarikha founded by Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba (R.A) ) referred and called for persons who are aware of the creation of Allah and accept to submit to Allah's Will"
the khassida ( poem) is called " Sindidi". please contact me at bichri at gmail dot com if you need more information about Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba and his books.

Beautiful ~ It reminds me of Hamza El Din.
I think it would be better without the subtext, however. Maybe with the song lyrics printed out in the informational window to the side.
It kind of gets in the way of just listening to the spirit of the music with the heart without mind involvement.
Such a beautiful voice & song.
Is this Arabic ? Nubian ?

Beautiful ~ It has a Hamza El Din feel to it.
I would prefer to watch it without the sub-text, however. Maybe, with the lyrics in the information window to the side.
It actually takes away from enjoying the pure experience of listening with the heart w/o mind.
Is he singing in Arabic ?
