  • thats a beatiful snake the black rat snakes we have in al dont look like that

  • Very cool to have got that moment in time! Thanks for the up load!

  • Pidgey used scratch

    Its super effective ,

    ekans used curl

    its defense rose.

  • the little victory dance at the end is priceless... the bird is doing the crip walk ahahhaha

  • the bird was trying his mma skills.

  • The irony is that if the stupid bird had just left the snake alone it would have just gone away by itself instead of stopping and coiling into a defensive stance.

  • Don't mess with a Mom, of any species! She will get ya! :):)

  • She was defending her children. How is that stupid? LOL Besides black rat snakes are non-poisonous.

  • Was the catbird successful?

  • it flaps like a hummingbird

  • loooooooooool

  • that snakes like, "ah hell no son"!

  • snake: (gangster voice) Man, whatchu want?!

bird: (british accent) Right, piss off! Those are my kids you bloody bastard!

  • How do you know that the snake was trying to get to the nest?

  • good parental/agonistic behaviour display

  • Couragious bird !!!

  • funny thing is that nobody notices how close this guy got to this, maybe 15 feet max, amazingly close.

send it to national geocrphic, they'll probably buy it.

  • yeah, that thing had already eaten it's fill, what a pig if it goes for more.

  • Those come to our house every year!

they're so annoying and they eat our raspberries.

  • dont mess wih the fam.

  • what a brave bird !

  • great vid

  • interesting video, and LOL there is no cobra on the planet big enough to eat a human!! who are these ppl!! king cobras can hit around 15 feet and they are actually not cobras, all cobras are "naja" while kings are not naja! anyhow they cant eat humans they are fat to slim :)

  • that looks exactly like a cottonmouth when it turns around. the yellow under its chin and the pattern on its back... also like my first comment that i posted before i watched it, the lump in its stomach is so big it could barely move that part of its body so it wasn't looking for food, it's definitely not a pregnant female. the buldge is too fat and not long enough to be a pregnant female. it was just passing by.

if it was a cottonmouth, i bet if that bird got bit then it's as dead as shit.

  • oh my god look at that lump in its stomach! it just ate a rat or something...that was the first thing i saw

  • lol

  • that shows how smart the birds are ,,,, great video ,,, and its true cobras and big snakes can eat people

  • WTF.....where is the fucking ending........

  • good on the bird, eugh snakes are horrible creatures, well most of them anyway.

  • casa ur gay.. some SNAKES KILL PEOPLE .... dur durr

  • LOL Great VIDEO~~~~~~~~~~~ NOT

  • I caught a Black Rat Snake last fall, he was on the side of a tree in the sun. I has a video up of him chowin down. Hes getting very big.

  • This is very lucky footage.

  • thats exactly what i was thinking.

  • Very intellingent bird

  • Great ! That bird knows exactly where the bad end of the snake is LOL

  • Birds like. Damn thats a big ass worm!!!!

  • that bird is soooo lucky it didnt get eatin i would have cried if it did

  • wow that snake is cool looking...

  • I used to have a black rat snake. He was really mean, by the time we gave him away, he got upto about six feet, I think.

  • how old was it ruffly becasu eim picking up a Russian Rat Snakes tomorrow and its justa baby my mom doesnt no much about snakes and she only let me get my ball python and a corn snake i could get if i get rid of my garter witch i am tmorrow but im telling her its a corn snake lol but i have to no how large do u think it will be in about a year?

  • My rat snake grew really fast. The guy at the pet store, I remember, told us that any snakes that have a name ending in "snake," (like rat SNAKE, corn SNAKE, king SNAKE) are usually agressive, and skiddish, so they're not the best choice. He said ball pythons were usually more passive, and calm. I think that if you're getting a baby, you could have a chance to let it get used to you, and maybe it won't be as viscious as my snake, cause mine was pretty old. Anyway, good luck! ^_^

  • lmao, anything ending in 'snake' is aggressive? Thats why I hate pet shops, LMFAO!

  • how large was it when u got it?and how long did u have it for.i gotmy baby russian rat snake and it seems to be pretty nice but its also very young and is hardly as thick as my finger but it already seams to be growning fast but its usualy pretty calm unless i freak it out by turnen on the lights when the room is dark but even then hes fin to handl hasnt tried to bit me yet:)

  • lol when u added "..."

i thought that was like the funniest shit ever lol

  • I have never seen a cat bird before... cool. I think this is the same kind of snake I saw climbing down a tree in my neighbors backyard. I will post a video responce and you guys let em know.

  • thats a nice snake

  • Definitely a rat snake. A black rat snake. Eastern Rat Snake actually.

  • who won the fight...the snake was like kinda timid or lazy even

  • forza i serpenti

  • does he not realise he's a rat snake? (btw, i know they eat more than just rats)

  • thats not a rat snake, rat snakes are greenish gray and the stripes go lengthwise down the body

  • rat snakes or corns come in hundreds of diffrent colours an grow to 5/6 feet......its a rat snake

  • I though the acting was rather weak on the snakes part. I couldn't understand the Blacksnakes' rage against the forrest at all, and the "CatBird" was clearly overacting, in a vain attempt to carry the weak Storyline.....I heard the Snake was ordered into rehab for 90 days by the court for public drunkeness

  • huge snake that bird had guts... err gizards...

  • When their eggs are on the line, many bird species will fight tenaciously. Not ALL species do this, but some are quite remarkable.

Of course, birds are warmblooded, so they can always win these things simply by harassing the snake until it can't afford to keep wasting its energy. Most snakes tire quickly, and are only interested in prey that require minimal effort.

  • Aren't most predators only interested in prey that require minimal effort?

  • Ever heard of an animal called a "cat"? They'll hunt prey just for kicks. Or how about the mongoose? Or what about the tremendous amount of energy that lions and wolves spend on hunting BIG animals that are strong enough to kill them in self-defense? Or what about PEOPLE?! Humans deliberately hunt the biggest, toughest animals they can.

Lots of animals go after challenging prey, because it often results in a much bigger pay-off in the end. But snakes are NOT one of those animals.

  • What could be easier. A nest with helpless chicks or eggs. And notice the snake did not expend much energy fighting the bird, except when it got close enough to become a meal.

  • chriiiiiiiiiist look at the length of that thing whew

  • Hah, dumb snake didnt get the bird ^^

  • LOL, The bird is so adorable, poor snake.

  • Catbirds (like most mockingbirds) are highly aggressive. They'll even try to chase off animals as big as coyotes or humans. Trust me, I know.

They will also occasionally eat baby snakes.

  • appears that bird was too late to stop that snake...lol. the snake obviously had just eaten something

  • that snakes a pussy

  • not really that snake didn't even go for a full out attack i seen one or a few fake strikes though

  • Interesting, it seems that somebody was not welcome for dinner, lol

  • LOL!!! Good one! Yep, it would seem that way. :)

  • snake is like "Hey I'm just enjoying the scenery"

  • man what was the outcome?

  • The snake moved into another section of the woods. As soon as the snake left the bird disappeared. The bird had been "fanning" its feather and acting unusual for about two hours but the presence of the snake was unknown until the video starts.

  • you lucky i really been trying 2 catch one of these guys most the time i cant even get this closed 2 them and when i do most of the time they hurt or runs
