wenger believed in this team and so did he last season.. united, chelsea and liverpool all spent huge amount last season but Arsenal didn't. Arsenal still played fantastic and its not wengers fault that pool cheated in the semis. they was so close to win the trophy. This season he believed in the scoud yet again.. and its not his fault that many first team players got injured. he knows he have to boost his team during Jan transfer. but look at Artetas assists and cross and pass completions hes up there with the very best, plus he chips in with goals, he is also a much more skillful player. Alonso for a holding midfield role , but in terms of an all round midfielder i would much rather have Arteta, although Alonso's reputation goes before him. They both are good players though.

Arteta is a great player, I am an Atletico supporter and I would really like him in my team. The problem whith him going with the spanish selection is who are you not taking? Xavi(team leader), Inista &Fabregas(probably 2 of the best midfild IN the world), and we need Albelda an X.Alonso to cover our backs. Arteta is not the only great Spanish player in this situation, Raul Garcia(incredible) & Guti for example would be playing in any other country's national team. AUPA ATLETI!
